Recommendation: Dayz Of Our Livez by Bones Thugs -n- Harmony

After being sucked off the fucking bone on our honeymoon, we flew back to Barbados to spend time with Elijah before heading back to the states. He did much better because I told him that it was to keep him safe. Pops was leaving Gams and moms back on the island with Jean. Blair had convinced Augusta Mae to stay behind, too. She didn’t need much convincing because she was comfortable as hell anyway.

It was easy living in our bubble on the island as a family, but the fact remained that the kids still had school, and life continued back home. If we could, we would have kept everyone held up on this island, but we needed to head home and I had to face the music.

As long as my mother, grandmother, and Elijah were put up and away, I was good. I didn’t like Anjo coming back with me, but I knew she wouldn’t stay behind. We had her doctor appointment, and she was under lock and key.

Syn had agreed to come stay with her at the lake house, so she didn’t get lonely. Capri had to get back to work and would be back and forth between the compound and the lake houses. Summer had been over and done with, so everyone was back to their regular homes, and I didn’t have shit.

“I’m listening to you, Eli. What did you do today?” I yawned, trying to keep my eyes open because I was tired after being out all day.

Blair was lying beside me with her leg tossed across me, asleep. She was nauseous, and she kept becoming dizzy when she stood up. I rubbed her ass while I watched some documentary that I had seen three times before. Since I’d been back, I had been seeing the news coverage, which wasn’t as much as before.

Forty said the media coverage had died down, but you could still catch conversations going on about what transpired. They still didn’t know what happened, and it had been quiet. I was smart enough to know that being quiet didn’t mean peace.

Polo needed to collect his mama and sister from the pavement before being worried about what was happening over here. “Gams had me do work on the computer.”

“Gotta be smart, son-son,” I smiled.

He yawned. “Can we watch something else, Ga… noooo, please nooooo! Nooooo!” He hysterically screamed, and I leaned up.

Blair leaned up, confused, because he was screaming and crying while Gams was trying to figure out what happened. I heard Jean’s voice as they tried to calm him down. “I’m coming to you, Elijah,” I jumped up ready to pack and head to my boy.

“Moochie, he’s pointing to CNN… the doctor on there. Jean watches it every night.”

I searched the bed for the remote, my hand shaking. Blair grabbed it and put it on the channel. The surgeon general was on the screen, talking about some health shit that I didn’t care about.

“Elijah, come to the camera, please.”

He had tears coming down his face as Gams held him and consoled him. “Noo, please don’t make me go back! Please Sim.” He pleaded with me.

“Is that him , Elijah?”

Tears rolled down his face as he shook his head yes, and I looked up while squeezing my phone. “You’re safe, okay. Nothing is gonna happen to you… I promise.”

“It’s okay, Elijah… Gams is here,” I heard Gam talking to him while she rocked him, and he clung onto her.

My heart pumped as I watched Dr. Mercer sit and have conversations about whatever new medical situation was going on in the country, knowing he was responsible for the horrible things that were done to my son.

The reason my house was burned down and why they wanted Elijah dead was because this boy knew the secret of a very powerful man.

“I feel like such a baby for not being able to drive without throwing up… why does it come and go?” She sighed. “I’m going to fight your brother if he don’t stop rushing me and telling me that I’m keeping him from seeing his niece or nephew.” She laughed, the first laugh since everything.

We were both tense after finally having a face to the horrible shit that was done to our son. I can’t say it was easier not knowing but putting a face to the shit made it that much worse, and it had been sitting on my chest since Elijah had a breakdown over the phone.

Gams convinced me not to come and told me that it was best for him to be there, now that we knew what we were dealing with. This went even deeper than I thought it did, and now we all had targets on our backs because they wanted him.

I was supposed to meet her at the doctor appointment since Blaze was driving her. She got sick on the way, so they stopped at Fern because she didn’t feel right. Since I wasn’t too far, I was gonna pick my baby up, so we could drive together to the doctor appointment.

As much as I was excited, a nigga was nervous, too. I was getting another chance to have a little human and I wanted everything to be healthy. With the way we were going hard on our honeymoon, I needed them to make sure it was good.

Pulling up to Fern , I hopped out the whip and saw the usual homeless nigga that stuck around. Whenever we cooked in the back, he was always fed, and I even gave him some beer. The reason he was homeless was because of drinking. Who was I to make decisions for him? He was a grown ass man, and he knew the choices he was making when he put that beer to his lips and took a sip.

“What up, O?” I greeted.

“The kingdom falls when the king is gone.” He muttered.

I didn’t hear what he said. “Say that for me again, O.”

“The kingdom falls when the king is?—”

“Yo Sim, watch the fuck out!! Is that fucking Cher?—”

POW! POW! POW! POW!

I hit the ground as gun shots rang out and I felt the burning within my body and saw my brother on the ground in front of me. I couldn’t make it to him.

“MEERRRRRR!” Capri screamed while the Gods grabbed O up, and the rest went after shorty on the bike.

“ELLIS!!” I heard Evan’s voice yell, and then his bike.

“QUASIM!! BABY, PLEASE, NOO!!” I heard my angel’s voice, while shit became blurry.

My angel.
