Chapter 12

Chapter Twelve

Noah

Three months later…

“ N OAH! SIN!” Kieran screams for us.

I look up at Sin, who is currently beating my ass. We woke up this morning and were working out, when I had the fun idea to tell Sin I could take him in a fight. As he thoroughly proved, I, in fact, cannot beat him in a fight, if the bruising I can feel already forming on my body is any indication. It took him two minutes to get me on the ground and another three to get me to yield. Well, I guess that was Kieran’s blood curdling scream.

Sin jumps up and hightails it out of the basement gym, and I’m trailing right behind him.

“Kieran, what’s wrong, baby? Where are you?” Sin yells back, panicked.

“Nursery,” she calls back.

Running up yet another flight of stairs, we turn left and bust through the door. We find Kieran leaning on the crib for support with a puddle of water underneath her.

“Kieran, what’s wrong?” I ask this time.

“I’m in labor, asshole.” She rolls her beautiful ocean blue eyes.

“Are you sure?” I ask dumbly.

“I mean, judging by the water, I don’t know— YES!” she growls.

Sin’s standing there, staring at her wide eyed, his mouth slightly parted. I’m not doing much better. She flicks her eyes between the both of us before snapping her fingers.

“One of you help me to the car, and the other one get the hospital bags… Now!”

That snaps us out of our stupor and we get moving.

It’s happening! She’s having the baby!

I think I’m going to be sick.

Sin rushes to her side. Walking past her, I quickly stop in my tracks. I turn towards her and kiss her temple before grabbing the diaper bag from the floor. I rush to our room and grab the duffel bag we packed with all of our clothes. Before long, we are in the car on the way to the hospital. Kieran is up front with Sin and I’m in the back. The drive to the hospital is filled with pained whimpers from Kieran and soothing words from me and Sin.

Once we arrive at the hospital, I rush to get a wheelchair for Kieran and Sin helps her out of the car. When I return with the chair, she’s shaking.

“Are you okay?” I ask.

“No, it hurts!”

“It’s okay baby, it will all be over soon,” Sin says.

Kieran grabs Sin’s shirt and pulls him down so they are nose to nose. “Shut up!”

A petite nurse rushes to us as soon as we get inside the doors. She has mousy brown hair, with glasses that look too big for her face covering honey brown eyes.

“Is she okay?” she questions.

“She’s in labor,” Sin answers calmly.

“Okay, follow me,” she says quickly.

The nurse leads us into an elevator, hitting the button for the third floor. The ride is over quickly, then, following the nurse down the hallway we reach the room all the way at the end.

“Go in here and put the robe on, it’s on the bed. The doctor will be in soon.” With that, she’s gone.

I help Kieran up.

“Raise your arms,” Sin commands.

Kieran lifts her arms while Sin slides her shirt off, then her bra. Once he’s done with her top half, he slides her leggings and panties off. He kneels to slide off her slippers, and I smile at the sight of this brutal, terrifying man, delighted to do anything to make Kieran more comfortable. Kieran places her hand on his shoulder as she steps out of her pants.

As Sin stands, he kisses her stomach, and slides the gown up her arms.

The doctor walks in as soon as Sin and I help Kieran on the bed.

“So, I hear the baby has decided to come today,” Dr. Samuel says, sliding his gloves on. “Let’s have a look.”

Dr. Samuel grabs the stool and slides up to the bed. “Put your feet in these stirrups,” he directs, covering Kieran’s lower half with a sheet.

Nurses come in and start attaching Kieran up to monitors. The doctor lifts the bottom of the sheet. “The baby is crowning; it’s coming now!”

I look at Kieran and Sin, my eyes filling with tears while watching Kieran trying to get the baby to latch. She said she never wanted kids, but I can see the love in her eyes as she holds our baby.

I'm happy to share the father title with Sin. He has shown us a million times over since he took us why we are lucky to have him. He really is a great person, he’s loving and caring. I honestly cannot imagine my life without Kieran and Sin.

The nurse walks in. “Have you decided on a name?”

Kieran gave Sin the power to name him. The bastard wouldn’t tell us what he decided on, until the baby was here. I’m not gonna lie, it irritated me to no end, I've never been a fan of secrets and surprises.

Sin looks down at the little boy bundled up in a blanket with a smile. “His name is Xavier.”

“Oh, that’s a lovely name, here’s the paperwork for the birth certificate, I’ll be back later for it,” she says, setting it down on the table before exiting the room.

“So why Xavier?” Kieran asks.

“I chose a name that held meaning. I’ve been researching since we found out it was a boy. I chose Xavier because it means savior, and this little boy is my savior.”
