Chapter 19
“Don’t cry, sweetheart. I’m okay,” Razor reassured her, wiping the tears from her cheeks.
“I think this is the last one. I’m so sorry I had to hurt you,” she apologized.
“You’re helping me, Little girl. Now my skin can recover.”
As soon as he’d treated Angel and they’d gotten the word that the Ravagers had retreated instead of attacking, Honey had dragged Razor inside to attend to him.
He hadn’t resisted. That alone told her how exhausted he was.
She tried not to worry more and failed. Putting that nervous energy to good use, she followed his instructions as he coached her through the necessary treatment.
Honey looked at the pile of grit and small stones she’d pulled from his skin and shuddered.
Razor had tried to tend to the wound after the Ravagers had removed his bonds, but plucking debris from cuts and scrapes he couldn’t see had been impossible.
She’d hated opening up his injury to clean out the road rash.
Each grimace or involuntary hiss of pain from Razor had hurt her heart.
Now, his skin oozed blood and other juices in reaction to her probing tweezers, and her hands shook from forcing herself to do what he needed.
“Without taking that out of me, these spots wouldn’t have healed. You’ve saved me a lot of pain and infection,” Razor told her. “And hey, look. My ass isn’t as hairy on this side now.”
“You! Your butt wasn’t ever hairy. A bit fuzzy, perhaps.”
His attempt at humor had eased the tension in her expression as she considered his derriere. He cupped her face and kissed her gently. “I’m fine, Little girl. Worried about you more than about myself. Can you tell me why you left? Were you concerned about me treating Caroline?”
“Yes. But I understand that jealousy was completely silly now. Of course you have female patients. I ran away because I was really worried about something else.” Crossing her fingers for good luck, Honey inhaled deeply and forced herself to ask, “Do you only want me as your Little girl because I have MS? Because I’ll need help? ”
“No, sweetheart. When it comes to you, I’m quite selfish. I need you in my life, no matter what.”
She looked down at his chest, ashamed that she’d fled from the best man she’d ever met. “While you were gone, I thought through all the silly things floating around in my mind. Somewhere deep in here,” she pointed to her heart, “I knew I’d projected my feelings onto you.”
“You’ve had people in your life who’ve reacted that way. You were protecting yourself from being hurt again,” he guessed.
“Yes. But it was wrong to assume the worst about you when you’re incredible.”
“Oh, I have my faults too, Little girl. Rejecting happiness today because of possible difficulties that might or might not happen isn’t one of them. No one has a crystal ball to reveal the future. Can you trust I love you for you?”
“I love you too, Daddy! I’m so sorry!”
“No more sorries. Give me a kiss, Little girl, and we’ll leave this road bump behind.”
She threw herself into his arms and kissed him with all the emotions that had built up inside her while the Ravagers held him. His strong arms hugged her tight as he shared her need to reconnect. When they both panted for air, the turmoil inside her calmed. Her Daddy was home. Safe.
“Now, I need a shower. Will you come with me?” he asked.
She nodded eagerly. She definitely didn’t want to take her eyes off him. Razor stepped into the warm spray with a heartfelt groan of enjoyment. He opened his arms and pulled her close. The last of her worry and anxiety over his injury and disappearance melted away as the water streamed over her.
“I’m so glad you’re okay,” she whispered.
“Me too. I’m happy your ankle is better as well.”
“I used the scooter while you were gone to rest it. It improved each day.”
She pushed on his chest, and his arms loosened. “Not trying to be mean, but you stink. Let’s get you clean so I can enjoy your yummy scent.”
“Yummy, huh?”
Honey squirted his bodywash into her hand and walked around him to slide her hands over his broad shoulders and back. Razor’s muscles bunched under her hands as she massaged. Slowly, the tension in them relaxed.
“Do you want to tell me what happened while you were there?” Honey asked.
“No.”
“No?”
“It’s not important, sweetheart. They wanted a doctor for their members. Unfortunately, instead of recruiting their own, they kidnapped me. It’s not trauma that will haunt me for the rest of my life.”
She peeked around his broad shoulders to meet his gaze. “Really? That had to be tough.”
“No one enjoys being held against their will.”
“Are you going to be scared to ride your bike from now on?” Honey asked, shifting to lather his chest so she could watch his face.
“No. The Devil Daddies MC will deal with them. It may take some time, but they’ll be eliminated.”
“Like killed?”
“The gloves are off. Lucien will get them out of town.”
Honey decided she didn’t want to know more. “What about that lady?”
“Vex will take care of her and find out her story. We’ll return her to her people.”
“If he lets her go,” Honey said, allowing her voice to trail off suggestively.
“I think I’ll worry about you.”
“Me? Why? I was safe here.”
A noise sounded from inside the bathroom, and she peeked around the entrance of the walk-in shower to double-check no one had snuck up on them. “Your jeans fell into the laundry basket.”
“They need to be thrown away. You’re a bit jumpy. Are you concerned that you’re in jeopardy?”
“You don’t pussyfoot around things, do you?”
“I don’t. I like to address problems head-on. Are you in danger because you’re associated with me? Unfortunately, yes. Would you be safer if we broke up? No. We can protect you here and provide security when you’re away from the compound until the threat is eliminated.”
“The threat,” Honey repeated, shivering.
“Come stand under the water and let your Daddy care for you,” he said, guiding her under the shower spray.
“I’m supposed to be washing you,” she said as he stroked sweet-smelling soap over her.
“If you’re good, I’ll let you finish,” Razor said with a wink. He cupped her breasts, caressing her foam-covered skin. “You are so beautiful, Little girl. I love you.”
“I love you too, Razor.” Rising to her tiptoes, Honey pressed her lips to his. She poured her emotions into the exchange to show him how she felt about him. How important he was to her. She’d almost lost this.
Before she could fall down the rabbit hole of what could have happened, Razor wrapped his arm around her, drawing her closer until their bodies pressed fully against each other.
He devoured her mouth, taking his time to build the heat between them.
His heavy cock stirred and lengthened against her as Honey responded to him.
When he finally lifted his head, he stared into her eyes.
“I’d do anything to get back to you, Honey.”
“I know. And I’d fight my way to you as well.”
“I need to bury myself inside you. Help me get this damn shower finished.”
Honey grabbed some soap and cleaned his healthy hip and leg before shifting to the other side. This would sting badly. “Dr. Daddy. Any advice?”
“Do it quick,” Razor told her with a smile.
Honey rubbed the soap between her hands to make a foam and then wiped it gently over his skin. “Is this okay?”
“You’re doing a great job. Daddy’s going to be a bit tougher on himself.
” Razor doused his leg with soap and spread it roughly over the abrasions on his hip and leg.
The hiss of pain that slid through his lips made Honey’s heart hurt.
She quickly washed his feet as he dunked his head under the water to shampoo his hair.
“Okay. Squeaky clean. I think Daddy needs to rest. Did you nap today?” he asked with a stern look.
“No, Daddy. I couldn’t with all the excitement.”
“Come on, Honey. Walk with Daddy to bed. Helpful Little girls get rewards.”
She tucked herself close with his arm around her shoulders. As they strolled together, she asked, “Rewards? Like candy?”
“Better. Oh, that bed is calling me.” Razor reached out and tossed the covers back.
Honey scrambled onto the bed. Her Daddy cupped her bottom to help her climb onto the mattress. She moved to the far side and watched Razor move slowly into place.
“I think any gymnastics need to wait until you are better,” she suggested.
“Are you not interested in making love?” he asked, reaching out to frame her face with his hands. “It has been five stressful days.”
“No, I’d love to have sex,” she explained. “But I don’t want to hurt you.”
“How about if we adjust our position to stay off your ankle and my leg? I think we’re flexible enough.”
“Flexible?” What did he have in mind?
“Let me show you.”
A long while later, Honey lay curled along his good side with her eyes closed, listening to his strong heartbeat. Exhausted by repeated climaxes, incredible joy and love filled her thoughts. Reconnecting with Razor physically had been just what the doctor ordered to help her recover.
Their lovemaking also reassured her that they could both find pleasure even if they didn’t have wild, athletic sex.
Her illness or his injuries wouldn’t keep them from enjoying each other.
Being without her Daddy had felt like someone had chopped part of her off.
Honey didn’t ever want to experience that again.
A heavy chunk echoed in the driveway. Had the Ravagers broken into the compound? Had they come back to get Razor?
Honey shook Razor. “Daddy! Someone’s here.”
He woke instantly and paused to listen to the grinding of gears. “I wondered when it would arrive.”
“It’s not the Ravagers?”
Razor gathered her in his arms, hugging her tight. “I’m sorry, sweetheart. There’s no need to worry inside the compound. No one can get to us inside the Devil Daddies’ territory. You’re safe.”
“What is that then?”
“It’s fun. Want to go see? Let’s get you covered, and we’ll go investigate.”
