Chapter 42
Lennox
My plan to hold Roxie all night after such a hard day goes up in smoke the second her little ass pushes up against me.
I’m powerless against this woman, and I love every fucking second of it.
I can feel how hot and wet she is as I slide myself between her legs. I tell myself I’m going to give her an orgasm, something to help relax her more so she gets some sleep. I tell myself it’s all about her. And then her back arches so much that the tip of my cock notches at her opening. Gritting my teeth, I attempt to shift my position, but Roxie has other plans.
She pushes against me, sinking me in an inch.
“Roxie…” I moan.
“Please,” she whimpers as our intertwined fingers swirl faster on her clit.
I mentally enforce my original plan. Get Roxie off, then spoon her and go to sleep. It doesn’t matter if I come. She’s the only one who matters right now.
I keep repeating that as I feel her flutter against the head of my dick.
I scream it as her head turns to kiss me.
I mumble it as I feel her start to come. My body takes on its own plan, fully thrusting into her as her orgasm peaks. Ripping my lips from hers, I bury my head in her neck, moaning at the feel of her around me. She doesn’t make a sound, too lost in her pleasure while I succumb to mine. She’s a siren, and I’m helpless to resist.
She collapses back against me, both of us still lying on our sides, her hand dropping from her clit, but I keep mine there. Grinding against her, I make small movements in an attempt to keep my shit together.
Her hand comes around, threading through my hair, pulling her to me and kissing me breathlessly. I’m perilously close to losing any thread of control I’m clinging to. Slow circles to her sensitive clit have her hips moving against me, creating more friction between us.
Her head tips back against my shoulder as I continue my movements.
“Look at me, Rox,” I growl.
Her head whips up, hazy eyes unfocused but still alert.
“Keep your eyes on me as I sink so deep into you, you’ll be feeling me for days.” I push as deep as I can. “Keep your eyes on me so you always know who can bring you this kind of pleasure. Only me, Rox, got it?”
“Yes,” she hisses as I hit the spot that will send her over faster than she can say “mine”.
“You are mine. Your body, your heart, your fucking soul. This pretty pussy, that ass that’s rubbing against me—all of it’s mine,” I rasp.
“And you’re mine,” she whimpers.
“Every inch of me, Rox. Everything I am is yours.” My thrusts start to lose their rhythm, forcing me to alternate between pinching her clit and circling it. She starts clenching around me, her eyes wide like she’s shocked she’s about to come again. But I’ll wring out every ounce of pleasure from my woman every single time she lets me. She’ll learn one orgasm from her is never enough for me.
“Oh God,” she whimpers .
“Give it to me, Rox. Holy fuck, give it to me,” I grit out, trying desperately to hold on until she comes around me.
When she throws her head back and tightens so hard around me, I let go. The tingle in my balls shoots up my spine as I release inside of her. Stars dot my vision while I slump against her.
“Jesus, Rox,” I pant. It wasn’t vigorous or acrobatic, but damn it was intense.
“What the fuck was that?” she asks breathlessly.
Laughter bursts from me. “That was you being too tempting. I had plans, and you just ran right over them.”
“Not going to lie, I don’t see you complaining.” She smirks over her shoulder.
“And you never will. It’s a privilege to call this pussy mine.” I tap her overly sensitive clit for good measure. She jolts against me, gasping at the feeling.
“You did not just say that.” She chuckles as my fingers go back to resting against her skin.
“Listen, I don’t have any blood in my brain right now. You can’t hold what I say against me.” I press another kiss to her silky shoulder.
“I never saw you coming,” she says so softly I almost miss it.
“Ditto, Boss Lady.”
She sighs, sinking into my arms, where I hold her as she falls asleep.
But I’m wide awake. The past few months fly through my head. My progress and what still needs to happen for me to get back to my job. Roxie and her situation. How I can help to the fullest. Ivy and what book I’m going to order for her next.
But mostly, I think about the woman in my arms and how I can’t imagine life without her anymore .
She’s my anchor in this crazy world. On the hard days and on the good days, she’s the one I want to grab ahold of to keep me grounded. I want to tether myself to her so I’m never lost again. And that’s exactly what I plan to do once Pam and Greg are handled.
Voices out in the living room wake me up. Jolting, I look around, not seeing Roxie, before groaning and flopping back on the bed. At some point, I fell asleep, but I couldn’t have gotten more than a couple of hours.
“Where’s Lenny?” Pixie’s little voice calls loud enough for me to hear, giving me motivation to go see what’s going on. After tossing on a pair of joggers and a T-shirt, I run my hand through my hair in an attempt to tame it.
I need to get my hair cut soon.
As I think it, Ivy slams into me as I walk out of the door. “Morning, Lenny. How did you sleep?” She hugs my legs.
“Good, Pix. How’d you sleep?” I tousle her hair while we walk to the living room.
“So good. Aunt Wina made me the best bed. I had the bestest dreams ever.” Aunt Rina. Never did I think two words would make me so damn happy to hear, and they weren’t even from Roxie’s mouth.
“Aww, I’m so glad to hear it, Ivy!” Rina says as she pours a cup of coffee.
Ainsley and Willow sit at the island while Roxie stands, sipping her coffee. She looks over the top of her mug with a smile on her face. She’s lucky the women decided to infiltrate my house, otherwise I’d be taking her back to bed. The mischievous look in her eyes leads me to believe she’s thinking the same thing.
Turning to my sisters and Ainsley, I raise my eyebrow. “So, we’re just breaking in whenever now?”
“It’s not exactly breaking in if we have a key, is it?” Willow asks.
“I was starting to get used to all of you leaving me alone and not dropping in unannounced.” I walk into the kitchen and grab a mug for my own coffee.
“Yeah, I think we can safely say that’s come to an end.” Rina smirks.
I’m going to have to set strong boundaries with them, especially with Roxie and Ivy here.
“We’ll see. What are you guys doing here, anyway?” I ask.
“We’re stealing Ivy today! We’re going to take her to school and then pick her up and have a girls’ day,” Ainsley says, looking right at Ivy.
Ivy beams like it’s the best thing she’s ever heard. Catching Roxie’s eye, I know the real reason is so she can figure out the trust without worrying about having to pick up Ivy in the middle of things.
Ivy gets ready without prompting while the women talk about the plan for the day. As much shit as I give them, I’m thankful we’re so close. They don’t hesitate to step in and help, no matter the task.
Once everyone says goodbye and I get a big hug from Pix, Roxie and I are left alone.
“I love your family,” Roxie says wistfully.
“Me too, most days. ”
The ringing of my phone interrupts anything else we were going to say.
“What’s up, Arlo?”
Roxie perks up.
“Jim Mathews spotted Greg in town.”
“Shit.”
“Yep. I’m calling Rosedale PD right after this to see if Pam is at the hotel, but I wanted to give you a heads up. I’m on my way to the office to arrest Greg.”
“Okay. What do we need to do?”
“Just stay put. I’ll keep you updated, but you shouldn’t have anything to worry about. This is more of a courtesy call.” His tone is gruff, but I hear a hint of worry. He doesn’t anticipate anything happening, but he is concerned. I can’t even blame him. After the whole Tennison ordeal, we thought we’d have our sleepy little town back, but that hasn’t been the case. He’s taking extra precautions.
“We’ll be here. Roxie has the phone call with the lawyer and the trustees today, so we’ll stay put.”
“Thanks, Lennox.” The relief is evident in his voice before he hangs up.
“What’s up?” Roxie asks.
“Greg is downtown, according to Arlo. He’s heading there now to arrest him and wants us to stay put. He doesn’t anticipate anything happening but wanted to let us know.” I hold my breath, waiting for her reaction.
“That’s good, right? That we’ll have him and at least know where he’s at? ”
“I think so. Arlo’s putting in a call to Rosedale too, to apprehend Pam, so they should have them both at some point today.”
She stares at the counter, not saying a word. “It feels … anticlimactic.” She looks up.
“I’d rather it be anticlimactic than anything else. We don’t need any more excitement. I think Arlo would have a coronary if anything else major happens in Bluebell Falls this year.” I chuckle.
“Fair. I want to go down to the station still and talk to them.” Determination and defeat shine through her eyes.
“Hey.” I sidle up to her, sliding my hands down her arms to tangle our fingers together. “I’ll make sure you’re able to say your piece, okay? You’ll get that closure, I promise.”
“Okay.” She takes a deep breath. “I just want this all done. So much is still up in the air because of them, and I want to be settled.”
“I know. I wish I could make it all go faster so we can move on to the after.”
“But sometimes it’s what happens when we go through it that ends up being the best part.” She raises her eyebrow at me. “Like you.” Rising on her tiptoes, she presses a kiss to my jaw.
“Is that our new motto?” I close my eyes at the feel of her lips on me.
“Ask me after this is over.”
