Chapter 18 #2

Tonight, Lane and I had planned this moment to just chill and watch movies.

It was our way of catching up with one another since everything had been going so fast. Since Savior had something to do tonight and Kale opted to stay with my mother, this was the perfect time.

Plus, I hadn’t gotten used to his place, so I hated being left alone in it.

It was way too big. I mean, I knew Beck or one of the others were around if I needed them, but still.

My thoughts were interrupted when I looked up and he walked in wearing sweats without the hoodie that lay next to me on the bed.

I couldn’t help but admire the fine, perfect shade of smooth caramel in front of me.

Savior was sex in its nastiest form, and he knew it.

I could lay here and admire him for hours, and I wouldn’t get tired.

It was every inch of his six-foot-three-inch frame that set me on fire.

It was him for me. I wanted to start something, but I knew if I did, I wouldn’t be any good to chill with my girl later.

So I kept my nasty thoughts at bay and obsessed about how fine he was in silence.

“Re, stop looking at me like that.” He stood at the foot of the bed, tapping away on his phone.

“Like what, baby?” I questioned innocently.

He dropped his phone on the bed and looked directly in my eyes. “Like you wanna get some shit popping before I go handle my business.”

I giggled. “My eyes are not saying all of that.” Yes, they were. They were saying all of that and a hell of a lot more.

He gave me that you lying face before walking off into the washroom. Seconds later, he walked back into the bedroom with my KenScentuals White Rose Oil. “Since you’re laying yo’ ass right there, do this for me.” He took a seat on the bed and scooted back so that I could crawl into his lap.

Of course, I did as he asked and crawled into his lap while he held the aged bottle out for me to get the dropper from.

I could tell I was gonna need a reup in a little bit because at first, it was just myself and Kale that used it.

Now it was me rubbing it on my face, his, and Kale’s.

One bottle was no good in my house, so from now on, I’d get two or three.

I reached for the dropper, squeezing the tip to capture some oil before pulling it out.

Then I strategically placed the dropper against certain spots on his face, squeezing the tip.

Once I was finished leaving little drops of oil on his face, I returned the dropper to the bottle and used my hands to massage the oil into his skin.

I did all of this while he watched, never closing his eyes for more than two seconds to blink.

When I finished, I went to crawl off his lap, but he used his free hand to stop me.

Seconds later, that same hand was around my neck, and he was pulling my face into his.

He mashed his lips against mine sloppily before pulling back and studying my expression.

“I swear I’m tryna fuck on you forever.”

A slight giggle escaped my lips because he always said something like this, but I know he wasn’t lying, because I could feel his excitement through the sweats that he wore. His words were true, and his desires were truer. “Don’t you have somewhere to be?”

He leaned in and pressed his lips against my neck. “Yup,” he spoke into my skin.

“Then why are you… Baby,” I whined, feeling him explore between my legs with that same free ass hand.

“Blame yourself. You climbed into my lap.” He played in my wetness. One touch from him had it waterpark wet between my legs.

“Baby, you got—” I started but the ringing of his phone on the side of us interrupted my sad attempt to remind him that he had to go.

As Savior was reluctantly leaving, Lane was coming in. She was carrying the pizza and chocolate cake that I begged her to get from the pizza restaurant. The night was just getting started.

“So my father had what I think was a heart attack as I told you.”

“Yeah, you did. How is he?” I asked, concerned.

“Girl, he is alive, but that’s not what I have to tell you. Why did I go up to the damn hospital, and he and my mother were going back and forth about him liking fast sex with prostitutes and her giving head in the back of Town Cars to him burning her?”

I didn’t mean to laugh, but I couldn’t help it.

I didn’t know if I didn’t hear her correctly, but the fact that she said her father burned her mother and everything before that was absolutely baffling.

I mean, I had met her parents numerous times, and I never got this vibe off of them. “Wait, fast sex?” I asked.

“Yes, bitch, fast sex.” She shook her head and took a bite of her pizza.

“What did you say?”

“I told them that they needed counseling, and I left. It was very obvious to me that under all that ‘I wish you were dead’ shit they still love one another. I guess they’re just going through some sort of rough patch.” She shrugged.

“Possibly. Every married couple goes through it, right?”

“I guess, but what’s new for you?” she asked.

“Well, first, I had to threaten Kale’s school counselor because obviously she misread the situation.”

“Wait, what?” she asked.

I ended up explaining everything to her, and she nodded in agreement.

“Yes. She was definitely trying to be cute.”

“She had the right bitch but the wrong situation.” I shook my head just thinking about that situation earlier.

“So I have a question.” Lane pursed her lips.

“I’m listening.”

“So before Taurus asked for a baby,” she whispered, which made me giggle.

“Bitch, why are you whispering?” I asked through laughter.

“Hell, I don’t know.” She shook her head. “How soon can you tell if you’re pregnant?” she asked.

“Shit, very soon, I might imagine. Why?” I was confused.

“Can you get pregnant while on the pill?”

“Yes. It’s possible if you miss some days, but you don’t miss days. You’re the only bitch that I know who has a whole alarm on her phone.” I laughed to myself, but I noticed she wasn’t laughing with me.

“Remember when he got shot? I was all off of my balance before that too. I’ve been so unorganized and everywhere that I was off of them for at least a month.

I was going between my house and his, even before the damn shooting.

My doctor told me there was little to no chance of me getting pregnant and that I could start fresh the following month, but then he asked. Now I’m thinking I co—”

“Stop panicking. Just take a test.” There was nothing to worry about. Either she was, or she wasn’t.

SAVIOR

I sat in the passenger’s side of the car as Taurus drove out to where we were meeting Reese.

I couldn’t wait to get this shit finished.

I was tired of all the chaos and confusion.

Money was funny when there was unnecessary beef.

The bullshit going on was bad for business.

I fucked around and took a loss on two of my businesses.

Of course they were rebuilding, but they shouldn’t have had to be rebuilt behind hateful ass niggas.

“You ready for this?” Taurus interrupted my thoughts.

I glanced in his direction and threw my head forward. “Hell yeah. I’m tired of getting up to the same old bullshit. I’m tryna be happy and bask in life, not perpetuate negativity with hateful ass niggas.”

Taurus laughed. “You’re damn right about that. I’ma need a lil’ vacation after we finish this shit.”

“You took the words right out of my mouth. I just want to make my money and keep it clean. These niggas can have this beef shit.”

“Coming from the nigga who didn’t get shot. Nigga, that bullet put shit in perspective for my ass. They pumped that hot shit in my ass, and I swear I ain’t playing around no more.”

I laughed.

“Speaking of hot shit, why the fuck did we fill up three canisters of gas at that fucking gas station?” He looked over at me momentarily before looking back at the road.

I laughed sinisterly. “You’ll see.”

“What the fuck do you mean I’ll see? Nigga, you have me driving all the way to the woods. What the fuck are you about to do?”

I laughed. “Be cool, nigga. We’re about to have our own lil’ science experiment.”

“Aw shit. You’re on psycho time. See? This is really why niggas need to steer clear.” He shook his head. “Nigga, you need to seek some counseling.”

I shrugged my shoulders and rested. “Maybe so, but if I need it, then you do too.”

“I probably do, but I don’t walk around this motherfucker in suits with handkerchiefs acting like a motherfucking original.”

I chuckled at his reference to that Netflix show. “Park over there. We gotta do a little walking.”

He parked on the dirt road and looked over at me. “Nigga, what the fuck you mean walking? We two black motherfuckers, and you wanna walk in the woods at night with cartons of gas. Yeah, yo’ ass needs therapy.”

I got out of the car and walked around the back.

It took him a minute to get out of the car, but he got his bitching ass out and popped the trunk. “You do know I just got shot. I can’t do no hiking with your insane ass.”

“You can stay yo’ whining ass right here for all I care. I’m ’bout to go handle this shit so I can go home to my lady.” I grabbed the gas and waited for him to do the same.

The walk wasn’t that far, but I was glad when we got there. When we reached the spot in the woods where Reese was standing, I set the gas down and walked over to the two niggas sitting tied to the tree. A malicious smile overtook my face.

“Damn. Why didn’t you tell me this was on the agenda?” Taurus was a few feet behind me.

I turned in his direction with a smirk. “It was a surprise.”

“What you mean a surprise?” he asked with confused expression.

“One of these niggas is the one who shot you. Now don’t say I ain’t never got you shit.” I walked over and grabbed one of the gas canisters. I didn’t like how those niggas were sleeping peacefully like they didn’t have a care in the world. That irked me.

“Whatever we’re doing, can we get this show on the road? It’s bears in this preserve,” Reese yelled.

“Nah it ain’t. Nigga, it’s a preserve,” Taurus responded.

I walked over and poured the gasoline all over the brothers. Duce was the first to wake up, coughing like he was being drowned. Taurus woke DJ up pouring the gas, then throwing the container and hitting his ass in the head with it.

Their mouths were gagged, and it was pretty dark, but leave it to this nigga Reese to have a flashlight on him.

“I was preparing a speech for this shit, but I don’t even feel like wasting my breath on you dead ass niggas, so see y’all in hell.

” Taurus shrugged, and we finished dousing them in gas.

By the time we were finished, Duce and his brother were begging through whatever was in their mouths and fucking soaked.

“I wanna see if we can start a wild fire in Chicago.” Taurus had a big dumb ass smile on his face as he tossed the lighter on them.

We watched until they were engulfed in flames before stepping back. The fire was much bigger than I had imagined. “And you say I need counseling.” I cut my eyes over at him as we prepared to walk back to the car. We made sure to burn the canisters along with anything else that could incriminate us.

“Nigga, you do. Who gets somebody some shit like this?”

“Yo, you’re ungrateful.” I laughed.

“Both of y’all niggas need counseling,” Reese cut in.

“Now I know yo’ ass ain’t talking.” I chuckled and looked over at Reese.

“Right, old homicidal ass.”

The way we walked back to the car joking, one would never think we just burned two motherfuckers alive.

“Alright. I’ll meet y’all your boy’s crib.” Reese climbed on his bike.

I nodded. We had one more stop before I could finally consider this shit over with. It didn’t take long for us pull up in front of the rundown tenement where Camen lived.

“I see why his address wasn’t listed in his file. This shit is grimy.” Taurus shook his head.

We walked up the pathway to the rundown tenement. As we were walking in, Reese was walking out.

“How the fuck did you get here so damn fast?” Taurus asked.

He smirked. “I told y’all to stop messing with those four wheels and get a bike. The only time I don’t ride my bike is when I’m picking up my daughter.”

“If I ever got a bike, Re would murder my ass on the spot.”

We laughed.

“Y’all will never guess what I walked in on when I got here, though.” Reese stopped us before we walked in.

“What?” I questioned.

“Remember old girl you called about?” Now he led us into the apartment. We walked further in and then turned into a room. The sight before my eyes made me shake my head. It smelled like death in the apartment the moment I walked in, and now I saw why.

“Damn, it’s funky as fuck in here.” Taurus covered his nose. “What it is the probability of two crackheads overdosing at the same time?”

“Bad batch?” I responded.

“For once, the street chemist did my job for me. Y’all niggas are still paying me though.”

This shit was finally over, and a nigga finally had some peace of mind. I walked over and got in Taurus’s car while he stood and talked to Reese for a minute. When he finished talking, he walked over and got in the car. He started it, but before pulling off, he looked in my direction.

“Amil hung himself a few days ago. Reese was going to take care of it, but he had already done it to himself.”

“Well.” One less thing I gotta hold on my conscience.
