Marching alongside Titus and his resistance army as we leave the hideout, I am told we have a two-day trek ahead of us from where we are to where Shadow Moon territory is. A plan had been formed, where Ivory Fangs will surround the tourist town and slowly take out the Shadow Moon wolves, while Titus and his army will attack the main pack. Many of their people are hidden within the pack as we speak now, relaying information about Jordan’s movements. Today, he brought Kaylee from his bedroom, and a panicking omega linked Titus explaining he thinks the alpha found his Luna. After opening his link to allow the others in on the plan, Titus told me he explained the situation, that Kaylee was being held captive, and that Ivory Fangs will be helping in her rescue.

No one has mentioned me, wanting to keep me as a surprise when it comes to saving Kaylee. As far as everyone waiting for us in Shadow Moon is concerned, I do not exist. Suddenly, my phone rings, and I notice my aunt’s pseudonym on the screen. Stopping Titus and his men, I answer the call and put it on speaker.

“Rose, what is it?” I ask, getting a confused look from Titus.

“I got in contact with Lilac through our familial bond link. It looks like I am the only one who can reach her though, as David and the pups all tried. Even Marco tried, but they got nothing but pushback.” My aunt’s voice floats in the air and a look of realization flickers across Titus’ face. He points to the screen, at the name Rose, and mouths ‘Alpha Amelia’, to which I nod yes before returning my attention to the call.

“I am going to text you the details Lilac sent me, but Lucas, it's bad. He has her guarded day and night, unable to escape, and there is wolfbane in her system.” Titus takes the phone from my hand just in time as anger rises inside me, and I turn to punch the tree behind us. Titus’ wolves look at me with surprise, and Titus reassures them that everything is fine before he tells them to secure the perimeter. They hesitate before complying with his orders, and Titus looks at me. My fist is embedded in the tree trunk, the punch making a hole in the poor thing.

“You need to keep your cool if you want to save … Lilac…” he states, hesitating at the name my aunt used.

“I know. But he has her, and I feel helpless,” I admit.

“We know that, but if you want Lilac back, you need to keep your emotions in check,” I hear my aunt state through the phone. I suppress a growl, as I know these two are right. I need to save Kaylee before Jordan can force her into becoming his.

“Anyways, I am sending you the information now. My wolves and I are heading to the decoy town Shadow Moon has and will be there hopefully by morning. We already have the necessary items needed to make it look like the town is quarantined while you two do your jobs.”

“Thank you, Rose. I hope that when everything is done, we can form an alliance,” Titus states, with gratitude in his voice. My aunt makes a noncommittal sound before the line goes dead. Titus hands me back my phone as we wait for the information to be sent through, and luckily, we don’t wait long. A text pops up under ‘Rose’, and I open it. Holding the phone between Titus and me, the two of us read the contents of the information she received from Kaylee, and I growl again. It seems he is keeping her under lock and key before he rapes her into being his.

“I never knew he had a hidden room,” Titus states with a frown. He calls back his wolves, explaining that we need to make it to Shadow Moon faster than ever, and we take off. I wonder if Kaylee is scared, but then chuckle. Kaylee is probably more pissed off by the situation than anyone else. I have a feeling that if she didn’t have wolfsbane in her, she would be tearing Alpha Jordan apart and destroying anyone who joined in on harming the she-wolves there.

My aunt stated in the text that Kaylee knows I am coming to rescue her, and I hope she is happy knowing this. I have a lot to make up to her, and rescuing her will be the start of a long road of begging for her forgiveness. Maybe, just maybe, she and I can start again, and I can show her how much I truly love her.

My steps falter as the thought crosses my mind. I love Kaylee.

A smile spreads across my face and with renewed vigor, I vow that once Kaylee and I are back in Ivory Fangs, I will show her my love and sincerity if it is the last thing I do.
