Lara

Brokk’s kiss wakes me early, too early, even if the clock says it’s noon. I burrow into the pillow and try to say “go away,” but it comes out as “mrmph buh.”

We spent yesterday in the city, finalizing everything needed to make Ferndale Falls home. I gave notice to cancel my lease when it comes due in a month and arranged a moving company. Brokk had a very satisfying talk with Steve, his “agent,” that left the other man so terrified I thought he was going to piss his pants. We drove back late in the evening, my little old Beetle crammed full of all of Brokk’s earthly possessions and the things I couldn’t live without for the next couple of weeks.
