DAYDREAMING
WYATT
“ W yatt! Wyatt Worthington!”
Stephen stood in my office.
“Sir, you’ve been staring out the window for twenty minutes.”
“I’m fine.”
Stephen didn’t buy it. He shouldn’t have. I’d spent every other night in bed with Odette. She was at my place whenever her royal schedule didn’t demand her full attention. I’d been thinking about the sound of her climax this morning on top of me as the morning light barely filtered in. She was an angel. I couldn’t wait to have her again. My only regret was her late arrival and early leaving to avoid Theo. I was about done with that, however. I figured it was time to bite the bullet and tell Theo that Odette was my girlfriend.
“About Paris, sir. The hotel just confirmed, and we have the details of where you are meeting the MPs.”
“Great,” I said.
“You’ve been… distracted.”
“I’m fine.”
I wanted to stay—not go to Paris. I wanted to go down on Odette and lounge around with her. Mentally, I was with her too often. I had an idea. I texted.
Me
What are you doing this weekend?
Odette
I think I’m going shopping with Astrid
Me
Oh, too bad.
Odette
You’re out of town, Wy.
Me
I thought about bringing you to Paris with me.
Odette
Really? Astrid would understand.
Me
I don’t want to waste a day with you, baby.
I have a full Friday morning and a meeting with government bigwigs on Friday night, but we can go out after.
Odette
I can shop in Paris.
Me
I endorse that plan. Buy lingerie?
Odette
I could.
Me
I promise to make it worth your while.
Odette
I will get the okay.
The idea of Odette in new lingerie was almost too much. I had a one o’clock and needed to fight the image of her in bed waiting. God, I wanted that!
I buzzed Stephen.
“Yes, sir?”
“Let’s coordinate with The Princess’s team. She’s coming to Paris with me this weekend. Schedule spa treatments for her on Saturday morning.”
He paused, probably in a state of confusion. “Of course, sir. Should I assume The Princess will be further involved in the future?”
“She’s not attending the meetings with me on Friday, but yes. Assume that.”
“I will do that, sir. Her private secretary offered her diary before. Should I request those updates on a regular interval?”
“Please,” I said. “And offer the same for my schedule.”
We’d officially reached the “exchanging calendars” stage of the relationship.
