Epilogue

Six months later…

“I couldn’t eat another bite,” I said, easing back into my chair with a satisfied sigh as the waiter cleared away the remnants of our meal..

Travis chuckled. “Tell me about it. Think there’s space in your belly for some dessert? Their pastry chef here is an absolute genius.”

“Only if you have plans to carry me unconscious, up to our room,” I countered. “It’s a challenge just trying to breathe as it is.”

“Your loss.” He shrugged and swirled the wine in his glass before taking a long sip.

The last six months with Travis had been breathtaking. Our relationship had grown and I’d come to really get to know the man he was.

I’d returned to work, but only out of boredom. Since I didn’t need to worry about funds, I was free to pursue any suspicious lead that caught my eye without needing to fear being blacklisted or bullied. I had a driver who took me everywhere I wanted to go, and he never let me out of his sight. Travis had refused to compromise on security.

I saw my parents often. My dad’s health had gotten better in the last six months than it had in the last six years, and now both of them were positively glowing with vitality. I also got to meet Travis’ brothers on occasion, and he had even introduced me to his mom. She was a sweet, unassuming older woman who accepted me, but did seem quite shy.

Michael checked in frequently, and he couldn’t stop talking about his new job. At first, Brendan had been frustrated by his know-it-all attitude, but after he showed him the dozens of ways he’d hacked into their systems, Brendan had been gracious enough to allow Michael shore up their defenses. Now, they were inseparable.

As for Travis, he focused more and more on the budding Ross Foundation, relinquishing more and more control of his company to Jackson. We spent a lot of time together, going on dates and traveling the world.

The pianist in the corner of the restaurant started playing John Lennon’s Imagine that broke me out of my thoughts. “I love that song,” I murmured to Travis.

“Oh, yeah? I didn’t notice.”

I hummed quietly to the tune, moving my head slowly this way and that. Our waiter approached with a covered tray in one hand and I frowned at Travis. “I told you, I’m full.”

“Oh, don’t be a killjoy, Emily.” He smiled at the waiter who set down the covered dish in front of me. “Well? Would you indulge me?” The waiter waited patiently, with a hand on the cover.

“What about you? You’re the one who wanted dessert.”

Travis chuckled and slid his hand under the table. “That’s because this particular dish is yours alone.”

I stared at him, trying to puzzle out the mystery, but gave up. I nodded at the waiter who removed the cover with one smooth motion.

My breath caught as I looked at the empty dish. There was a message written on the dish, done in what looked like chocolate syrup.

Emily, will you marry me?

I looked up in confusion. Travis wasn’t in his seat anymore— he was kneeling beside me with a velvet box in his hand. My heart thundered in my chest as my brain slowly understood what was going on.

Oh my God…

“Emily, for years I was afraid to allow myself love or be loved. I’d prepared for a long life spent alone. That was until I met you. You’re the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me, and I’m grateful every day that I met you at Calypso.”

I gaped like a fish struggling to breathe air.

“I’ve been with you for a few months, but that’s not enough. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Emily, will you marry me? Would you do me the honor of making me the happiest man in the world?”

He flipped the box open to reveal the largest diamond ring I had ever seen. The central diamond, surrounded by smaller diamonds, caught the light of the chandelier above and sparkled beautifully. I covered my mouth as my eyes started to fill with tears.

“A thousand times yes, Travis,” I whispered through tears of joy. “Yes, I will marry you.”

He grinned and let out an audible sigh of relief. As he slid the ring on, a cheer erupted in the restaurant. I pulled him up and we hugged tightly. It felt like magic. “Thank you,” he said near my ear. “Thank you for giving me a new purpose.”

I glanced at the ring again, turning it in the light. It was beautiful. Everything about tonight was perfect. There was only one thing left. “Take me upstairs,” I whispered.

Travis didn’t need any further prodding. He swept me out of the room, to the cheers of the other guests. We got into the elevator and attacked each other with kisses the moment the doors shut.

By the time we got to the room door, Travis’s buttons had already been undone. We slammed the door behind us and started discarding clothing from there. We left a trail of clothes in our wake, leading from the front door to the edge of the bed.

We collapsed on the bed in a heap, kissing with an untamed hunger. Travis grabbed my neck as his tongue probed my mouth. I twisted my fingers in his beautiful hair and pushed him backwards.

I reached down for his sweaty muscles and ran my fingers around his hardness. His moan was sweet and husky in my ears. I stroked gently as we kissed, enjoying the shudders that ran through him.

“You’re mine, Emily,” he managed to say through deep breaths. “You’re all mine.”

“I am,” I agreed, whispering.

I roved down his body with my tongue, kissing him softly as I went down on him. I looked up from between his legs and saw him watching me, his chest heaving like an Olympic diver.

I wrapped my lips around his cock and looked straight into his eyes. Faster and faster I went, taking him deep enough to fill me. I didn’t stop. I didn”t break eye contact.

His moans sounded divine. I held him firm when I felt him stiffen. I fondled his sack and ran my tongue against the tip of his shaft.

He grabbed my head and I smiled around his cock. His seed shot into my mouth, sticking to the back of my throat. I took all of him and I relished it.

Travis ran his fingers through my hair, his breathing ragged. I chuckled. I wasn’t done with him just yet. Not by a country mile. I could feel my own wetness, waiting for his answer.

I sat astride him and guided his still hard cock into my center. It slid deep into me, filling me up. My eyes watered with a welling of emotion as they always did, but I loved how it felt. I would never have wanted it any other way.

You’re all mine, I thought to myself as I started to gyrate against him. I love you so much.
