Chapter 7

I lay naked save fora pair of silk panties, sprawled out on the bed like a starfish. It was early again, Nico waking me up because he had to work. But he had something else in mind before he left our bed. A warm breeze wafted over my body leaving goosebumps in its wake. Although that might have been Nico who leaned over me kissing and licking a lazy trail down my body. I had a feeling I knew his destination, but he wouldn’t be rushed. Nico, I’d soon discovered, liked to take his time to drive me out of my mind. I arched my back as he diverted his course to take one nipple in his mouth.

“So good,” I moaned. He could make me come just by sucking on the tight bud and playing with the other. He’d made me come apart by sucking my nipples the previous day and boy, was he smug when he discovered that hot button.

“I need more,” I begged.

He raised up to look at me, my nipple sliding out of his mouth. “What do you want, baby?”

I want you to call me that and mean it.

But instead, I pressed him down insistently and the lovely man obeyed, mouthing down to my soaked panties, and sucked on them lightly, then pulled the scrap of silk aside to lick a line down my pussy and back to my clit. I ran my fingers through his thick hair. I closed my eyes and focused on his wicked tongue, feeling my climax waiting as he licked and sucked and dipped into my waiting cunt. Then just before I found my release, he suddenly moved. I moaned out a protest, opening my eyes to find him tugging the silk down my legs.

“I need to be inside you,” he growled, pushing my knees back and burying himself inside my pussy.

I groaned as he filled me up, holding onto his hips, trying to pull him closer. I was so close to my climax, it wouldn’t take much to send me over the edge.

Nico framed my face with his hands and kissed me sweetly as he pushed in and out, each time rubbing my clit, sending sparks through my body until I couldn’t hold back and I came, crying into his mouth. He groaned as I squeezed around him and with one last thrust he filled me up.

I lay on the bed, Nico’s body draped over me, hotter than hell, both the man and my temperature.

“I’ve got to work. You’ve made me late again,” Nico grumbled as he sat up, but from his satiated grin, he wasn’t that bothered.

“Aren’t you the boss?”

“I am, but the staff are used to me starting early.”

I looked at the clock. “It’s six-thirty, it’s hardly late.”

“I know. I’m usually in work by five-thirty.”

I groaned and rolled over. “You’re fired, Mr. Milaras. I don’t do mornings.”

He leaned over and kissed the nape of my neck. “I’m sure I can persuade you,” he whispered. “I have my ways.”

I smiled as he started kissing my spine again. I had my ways to distract him too.

I stretched out myarms, admiring my suntan as I basked in the late afternoon sun, when there was a knock on the door. After my early morning activity, I’d had a lazy day by the pool reading a horror novel I’d saved for my honeymoon. The irony was not lost on me.

I flung on a robe and opened the door. Nico leaned against the door frame; his dark brows knit together as he stared at his phone.

“Did you lose your key?” I teased as I stood back to let him in.

“I didn’t know if you’d mind me walking in.”

“I don’t mind. You look annoyed.”

“I am,” he grunted. “I’m sorry, Cassie. Could I stay one more day?”

My heart skipped a beat at the thought of him still sharing my room and hopefully my bed. I didn’t forget he’d already spent last night with me instead of going to his parents’.

“Did the plumber forget to turn up again?” I asked.

Nico grunted. “No. He got food poisoning at the wedding.”

I tried not to grin because food poisoning was no joke, I’d been there, but Nico sounded so disgusted.

“And Mama’s guests want to stay another week.”

“Oh.” Now I knew the real reason he was upset and why he’d come here. He wanted to go home to see his cat, and now he couldn’t. He sought comfort from me. I leaned in and gave him a hug and he immediately wrapped his arms around me. “You’re welcome to stay here, Nico. You know I’m here for another ten days. Stay as long as you like. But isn’t the hotel empty now the families have gone home?”

He chewed on his bottom lip. “I wanted to see you again,” he admitted.

I leaned into him. “You could have just said that.”

“I know.” He sighed into the crook of my neck. “I was about to ask if you wanted to spend the evening with me and my cat, then I got the message from my mama.”

I stroked the back of his neck, feeling the soft hair under my fingertips. “Did you tell her that?”

“No. But she wants to meet you.”

I stared at him. “Your mom? You told her about me?”

“Of course I did. She can’t wait to meet you. She’s so excited at me bringing home a girl. I didn’t tell her you can cook. I thought the excitement might be too much for her.”

He was teasing but I was more focused on the fact Nico had talked to his mom about me, and we’d only known each other for a couple of days. Mick hadn’t introduced me to his mother for months, saying there was no point if we didn’t last.

“I’d love to meet your mom,” I said honestly. “I only wish you could meet my parents. They’re wonderful.” I adored my mom and dad.

Nico eyed me speculatively. “I fly to the US a lot. There’s no reason why I couldn’t go via New York.”

“I’d like that,” I said honestly. “I think my mom and dad would love to meet the man who saved my not-honeymoon.”

Nico snorted. “You’re not going to tell them what we did, are you?”

“I’m a big girl now, Nico. They know I’m not all pure and innocent. At least, I hope they do. What about your parents?”

“They’ve never asked. Mama’s just shocked I’ve found a date. She asked me if I was feeling all right.”

I chuckled at his disgusted tone. “I don’t think we’ve actually done any dating yet.”

“I took you out to dinner and we had ice-cream,” he protested.

“True. Uh...Nico, what are you doing?”

He raised his eyebrow. “Taking off my clothes, of course. I need a swim.” He pushed down his pants with a happy sigh. “I should make every day a dress casual day. Business attire is too much.”

I followed him as he dove into the pool. It didn’t matter what he wore, business, casual, or the acres of tanned skin, he was always gorgeous. He was blessed genetically.

I settled back on the seat, picked up my book, and read while Nico swam out his frustrations. He must have had a whole bunch of them because he kept swimming. Finally, he swam to the side and looked at me.

“That’s better.”

I held out my hand. “Come over here.”

I drooled as he heaved himself out of the pool, I’m talking James Bond muscles, and flopped down at my feet like a wet dog. He buried his wet hair in my lap, laughing as I squealed and shoved him away.

“That was mean, Mr. Milaras. Now I’m soaking wet.”

He launched toward me, I pushed back, the seat tipped over, and I thumped my head as I landed on my back on the floor, the seat pinning me down.

“Ouch!”

“Cassie! Are you all right? Talk to me. Do you need me to get the doctor?” Nico untangled me from the seat while I lay there, seeing stars.

I swallowed hard. “I’m okay. I think. I just need a moment. My brains are still in my head?” It was kind of a statement, partly a question.

“Sit up and let me look.”

He gently helped me sit. The stars got a little busy for a moment, but I leaned against him as he felt around the back of my head.

“All okay, Doc?” I asked.

“You’ve got a bump, but no blood or brains. I think your skull is intact.”

“I think I need to lie down on the bed. This floor is kinda hard.”

Nico grunted and stood, then scooped me into his arms.

I flailed but he just hung on tighter. “You could have warned me,” I grumbled.

“I could have,” he agreed, chuckling in my face.

He placed me on the bed and hurried into the bathroom to find a towel.

The stars had been replaced by elves tap-dancing in my head. I poked at the sore spot. “Go away, elves.”

Nico stared at me from the doorway. “Did you just mention elves?”

I blushed a little. “My gran used to say she had elves tapdancing in her head when she had a bad headache.”

“That’s...cute. Mine just reached for the booze.”

“She gave you liquor?”

Wow, customs were really different over here.

“No.” Nico chuckled. “The sherry was for her, to block out my whining. At least that’s what she said.”

“Your gran was hardcore.”

He smiled fondly. “She was. She terrified me as a kid, but I miss her.”

I closed my eyes, not wanting him to see the longing expression that must be there. Why didn’t I meet someone like Nico and not a beep beep beep like Mick?

“Hey.”

I opened my eyes to see him offering a glass of water and Tylenol.

“Take this. You’ve got half an hour to rest with me. No sleeping. I’ll tell you about my day. Then we’ll have room service by the pool.”

It sounded perfect. I took the pills and held out my hand. “Will you lay down with me?”

He crawled onto the bed and wrapped himself around me. “I’d love to rest with you. Now, let’s start with the feud over onions in the hotel kitchen...”
