Chapter Thirty

Caleb

“ C aleb!” Elisa shrieks, shoving my shoulders as I lower to my knees in the elevator and push her dress up to her hips. “The cameras!”

“I turned them off,” I confirm as I push her panties to one side and plunge two fingers into her pussy. “You’re fucking drenched, Lili.”

“What’d you expect?” she murmurs, gripping the railing to hold herself steady as I rip the panties from her body and attack her with my mouth. “You got me all worked up in the restaurant.”

We’ve just come from dinner with her family in the city after celebrating her graduation. I might have been feeling her up under the table any chance I got. From the looks Romeo was giving me across the table, I’m sure he had an inkling of what was going down, but he was never going to say anything in front of Serena and Alesso.

In the two weeks since we first had oral sex, we’ve both become insatiable for the taste of one another, spending every night together either at her place or here at mine. Lili is open to try anything, and I’m quickly learning what she likes and what gets her off. She’s so responsive, and I’ve given her multiple orgasms at a time with just my fingers and my tongue.

I glance at the display on the wall, determined to rock her world before we reach the top floor. Adding another finger inside her tight walls, I pump them faster as my lips suction over that swollen bundle of nerves.

“Oh, fuck, Caleb.” Lili grabs chunks of my hair as I ravish her pussy. “You are sooo good at that.”

I grin into her cunt as I curl my fingers deep inside her, hitting her G-spot as I lightly graze her clit with my teeth.

An earth-shattering scream bounces off the walls of the elevator before she shouts my name and convulses on my mouth, bucking her hips and riding my face. The elevator slows as we reach the top, and I stand, quickly fixing her dress over her body just in time. The elevator pings, and the doors glide open, revealing a scowling Anais on the other side.

Holding Lili’s hand tight, I pull her out into the lobby, tucking her protectively into my side, as Anais enters the elevator. “What do you want, Anais?” I glare at her when I see the way she’s looking at my love.

Anais thrusts her foot into the elevator, keeping it open. “To ask if you had any update on my husband.”

“There have been no sightings since he kidnapped his son. You’ll be the first to know when he surfaces.”

Anais glances at the torn lace shreds littering the elevator floor with poisonous eyes. “I guess the rumors are true.” Hurt flares in her eyes as she looks between me and Elisa. “Why her, Caleb? What does she have that I don’t?”

“She is everything you are not, and it’s one of the many reasons why I love her and why she’ll one day be my wife.”

“Caleb!” Elisa chastises me with her tone and her look, but I won’t apologize for speaking the cruel truth. Anais needs to understand Lili is my endgame.

“She’ll never keep you satisfied,” she hisses.

“She already does in ways you couldn’t even begin to comprehend.”

Something flashes in her eyes, but it’s gone before I can read it. “Then I guess it’s truly over between us.”

“It’s been over between us for years, Anais, not that it was ever anything more than sex.”

“For you maybe.” Sadness veils her eyes as she lowers them to the ground. When she lifts her head, a weird expression is on her face. She turns to face Elisa. “I know I’ve been a bitch to you, but you won him fair and square.”

“He’s not a prize, and it was never a competition.” Lili softens her tone, and she’s looking at her cousin with compassion Anais doesn’t deserve.

“I just want you to know I won’t cause any trouble.”

My eyes narrow in suspicion. This is not Anais. What the fuck is she up to?

“Uh, okay.” Lili doesn’t know what to make of it either.

“I hope you’re both very happy,” she says before the elevator doors close.

We stand outside it for a few seconds in silence.

“That was weird,” Lili says.

“Extremely, and I don’t trust her.” I scanned my place after her snooping visit, figuring she might have planted a recording device, but I didn’t find anything.

“Maybe she has finally seen the error of her ways,” Lili says, pressing her finger to the keypad at my door. I had her added to the security system so she can come and go as she pleases.

“Perhaps,” I mumble as I reactivate the camera in the elevator. Anais has already gotten out on her floor. I shoot off a quick text to the surveillance team, reminding them to continue watching her closely.

“I take it she doesn’t know about the lockbox or the trap?” Elisa holds the door open for me, and I lean down to peck her lips as I walk into the penthouse.

“No. We would never trust her with that intel.”

Gia found the lockbox key embedded in the side of one of Gino’s old folders, but there was no information pertaining to which bank or financial institution housed the lockbox and no identifying markers on the key. It was my idea to set a trap. To stage a false fire at the Accardi Company and leave the door to the filing room open with the key in plain sight. We figured whoever was staking out the place for Cruz wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to slip inside the building while all the employees congregated on the sidewalk outside.

It went down earlier today, and it worked like a charm. Two men broke in and stole the key, and we’ve had them shadowed ever since. As a precaution, we had copies made of the key because we need to hold on to the original. The copy we planted contains an embedded tracker so we can monitor its movements even if we lose sight of the thieves. Now we just wait and see which bank they go to, and then we’ll ambush them and steal the contents before it falls into the wrong hands.

We don’t expect Cruz to show his face. It’s too risky, and we’re banking on his goons being goons.

“Has Joshua or Gia called yet?” Elisa kicks off her heels and dumps her purse on the island unit.

“No.” I loosen my tie and lift it over my head, depositing it beside Elisa’s purse. “I’m guessing there’s no update yet.”

We have men stationed in hidden vans and locations around the area where the key is, waiting for something to happen. Gia and Joshua are at Commission Central along with most of the other dons, awaiting news. As soon as there’s a location, everyone will swing into action. I bailed because it’s Elisa’s graduation and I’m not needed. We have enough resources on this, and the other dons can handle it without me.

I walk to the refrigerator and remove the bottle of Cristal champagne I stashed there earlier. Grabbing a couple of flutes, I follow Elisa into the living area, setting the glasses and champagne down on the coffee table beside the large envelope I put there earlier.

“I have a graduation gift for you,” I say, batting my nerves away as I hand her the envelope and sit beside her on the couch. I hope she appreciates the gesture and doesn’t think I’m overstepping the mark.

“You didn’t have to get me anything,” she says over a wide smile.

I place my hand over hers on the envelope. “Before you open it, know nothing is set in stone. I hope you don’t think I have interfered. I just wanted to help, but you can say no if you like.”

Her brow puckers. “Okay.” She draws out the word as I remove my hand and let her open the envelope and remove the contents. “What is this?” She flips through the impressive glossy brochure.

“Your new office space.” She gives me a wide-eyed stare. “It’s only three blocks from the Accardi Company building, so it’s in a good part of town and easily accessible from here. It’s owned by Caltimore Holdings, so if you don’t like it, I can get out of the lease. The rest of the space on that floor is rented by other small businesses, and they have a communal hub with a coffee dock, a cafeteria, a gym, and various sized meeting rooms you can book when you want to meet clients.”

“How did you find time to do this?”

I brush her hair off her shoulders. “You’re the most important person in my life, Lili. I will always make the time for you. I wanted to take some of the pressure off you. You were busy with exams, so I talked to your mom about the kind of office space you might need and then I spoke to Ben.” I shrug ’cause it really wasn’t a big deal, and I didn’t invest too much time or energy.

“You are so good to me.” Flinging her arms around my neck, she plants a firm kiss on my lips. “Thank you so much.”

“We can take a tour of the space tomorrow before we pack up your stuff if you like.”

“Sounds like a plan though it might take more than a day to box up all my things at the apartment.”

Lili is moving in tomorrow, and I’ve been on a countdown ever since she agreed to share the penthouse with me.

“There’s one other thing,” I add, picking up the second brochure. “This PR firm came highly recommended by the VP of marketing at our company. The owner is a friend of hers, and they specialize in small businesses and start-ups. I made an appointment for you, and the owner is personally going to handle your account. They will help you with brand management and marketing and publicity.”

She stares at me like I hung the moon in the sky. “You are the best boyfriend, Caleb Accardi, and I’m so lucky to call you mine.” She jumps onto my lap and peppers my face with kisses. “I love you.”

“Love you too.” I squeeze her ass, relieved she took the gesture at face value and didn’t get upset. “More and more with every passing day.”

“Well,” she says, lowering herself to the ground. “Today’s your lucky day.” She kneels between my legs and grins as her hands reach for my crotch. “You deserve a reward, and I know just the thing.”
