F or the third time in my life, I made a crucial mistake.

I let my anger out.

Except this time, I didn’t kick out or shove a knife into flesh.

Letting it consume me, letting it filter out all rational thought, I did the last thing I should have. I tested her.

I didn’t call out to her.

I didn’t go after her.

I didn’t stop Rollins.

I let her go, and I tested the fuck out of her.

One minute.

Two.

Five.

Ten….

Rollins walked back into the house seventeen minutes later.

She followed.

Smiling to himself, he walked toward the guest room.

Her head down, she rushed to her room.

“Night, sweetness.” He shut his door.

She slammed hers.

The scent of sex trailed behind them.

My hands fisted, and my cell vibrated with a new text.

Ty: Be home in a few. Everything good there?

I turned my phone off and closed my eyes.

I didn’t fall asleep.

I seethed.
