Chapter 19

Work ran late, so I agreed to meet Armor for dinner instead of letting him pick me up for dinner. We decided on the restaurant at The Lane Hotel. I can’t speak for him, but a part of me wanted to have dinner there with hopes the evening would end in a room. My overnight bag was already packed and in my trunk just to be safe since the last time I saw him we ended up spending the night together.

As I strutted into the hotel, I couldn’t stop myself from being filled with excitement. I didn’t know all the facts about Armor but what I knew so far, I liked. Even though we’d just met, I felt comfortable with him. He was the first man outside of the guy I gave my virginity to that I let inside of me without a condom. There was something special about him, about our connection, and I was curious to see how things would bloom .

After what happened with Adam, I didn’t care about moving too fast. I felt like I’d done everything right with Adam—letting him meet my parents, withholding sex, having the serious talks by our third date—and he still left me abruptly. I didn’t get the vibe he was cheating but I guess it didn’t matter at this point. He wanted things to be over, so they were over. I hadn’t heard from him since we broke up. I wouldn’t act like I didn’t miss him, but I was happy with the peace I had since moving to Jasper Lane because I wasn’t worried about what was going on with him.

Armor was different. He was mature, eloquent and gracious, yet rough and slightly controlling. He was a weird mix of things that didn’t seem like they went together but actually worked.

The hostess greeted me, and before I could tell her who I was meeting, a waitress came up and told me my party was already here and waiting. I followed her to the back of the restaurant where Armor was seated. He stood at the sight of me, and my mouth watered as I took him in.

Dressed impeccably in a dark tan suit, his white button down shirt had the first few buttons open. The no tie look gave a relaxed vibe to his attire that I loved. I bit my bottom lip as I blushed when he extended his arms for an embrace. Gladly, I hugged him and relaxed against his wide, hard frame. Armor had the kind of body that could make any woman feel safe.

“Thank you for joining me,” he said, pulling my chair back.

“Thank you for the invitation. I haven’t had anything to eat since our light lunch, so I’m starving.”

He sucked his teeth and lowered himself to my ear. Seeing as it was almost 10:00 PM, I could understand why that was his response. “Let me find out you’re the kind of woman who doesn’t take care of herself because she works too hard.”

“What if I am?” I asked with a smile, leaning more into him.

“I’ll have to make it my mission to take care of you, sweetheart.” Armor kissed my neck then went to his side of the table. He shook his head. “Why are you trying so hard not to smile?”

“Because I feel corny being so happy to see you.”

That made him laugh. “It would only be corny if I wasn’t as happy to see you.”

Silence found us, which was fine. He’d already ordered us a bottle of wine, so when the waitress was done pouring us both a glass, she left to give us time to look over the menu.

“I do have two ulterior motives for asking you to dinner,” he admitted, expression growing serious.

“What are they?”

“I want to learn a little more about you to make sure I put together a great first date. I also want to tell you a little about my past. If it’s something that will make you uncomfortable being with me, there’s no point in us going beyond tonight.”

My spine straightened as I gulped. With one bob of my head, I beckoned him to continue as I reached for my glass of wine.

“I am in real estate like I said. I am part owner of Armored Remedy Real Estate.”

I almost choked on my wine. Covering my mouth, I laughed. “I don’t know why I didn’t think to ask you if you knew Remedy. Even with your name being Armor, it didn’t register to me that you were his business partner. We grew up together.”

“Yeah, he told me this evening. ”

“So the two of you did time together?”

Armor nodded. “Yeah, we did. I did ten years.”

My brows lifted as I rolled my tongue over my teeth. “Wow. That’s a long time. I’m glad you’re out.”

“You and me both.”

“Do you mind if I ask what you did time for?”

“I beat the man who was abusing my mother to death.” He paused, and I honestly didn’t know what to say. “You’ll probably hear things about me. That I’m violent. A drug dealer. Killer.”

“What part of it is true?”

“I used to be a drug dealer but I’m not anymore. I have taken a few lives, but they were all justified. That’s not something I brag about or even talk about, but I wanted you to be aware. I would never want anyone to tell you something about me that you need to hear from me.”

“I-I appreciate that.” Cupping my hands in my lap, I took a deep breath. “Am I safe with you?”

His head tilted and eyes softened. “Without a doubt.”

“And you’re not doing anything now that would jeopardize my freedom or life?”

“Absolutely not.”

“Then what do you need to know to plan our date?”

Hours After Dinner

Armor rested me on my side. He put me in a slight butterfly position with my feet pressed together, but my legs weren’t spread wide. They were only wide enough for his hand to fit as he fingered me. I’d never been in that position before, and I’d also never received as much pleasure from a man’s fingers before. My moans poured without my permission as my body trembled. I don’t know what the hell this man was doing to me, but I wanted him to do it forever.

My back arched. I gripped his wrist as my eyes shut tightly. “Armor, I’m about to cum. Please don’t stop.”

“Cum for me, sweetheart. That’s exactly what I want you to do.”

I pulled my hair as my walls tightened around him. It was such a slow build it was overwhelming. When I finally did cum, I immediately tried to pull away from him, but he wouldn’t let me.

“You gon’ stop running from me and the pleasure I provide you, Luci.”

I couldn’t even respond. Armor lifted my leg and lined himself up with my pussy. As soon as he slipped inside of me, I moaned loudly. The sideways, upward strokes had me spiraling. I was leaking so much my ass crack and thighs were soaking wet. He kept my legs spread by resting the left one on his arm as he gripped my waist.

Every time I tried to rock against him and increase the pace, he held my waist. The slowness of his movements was overwhelming. I’d had good dick before, but what Armor was doing to me was good sex. Pleasurable sex. Intense sex. Intimate sex.

“Speed up,” I pleaded, hating how vulnerable and out of control I felt.

Armor cupped my cheek, forcing me to look into his eyes. “No.”

His lips covered mine and he kissed me slowly, deeply. I savored each swipe of his tongue until my orgasm caused me to pull away and release a sizzling breath. He held me close as I came, not waiting until my climax was over to roll me onto my back.

“You can trust me, Luci,” he declared, increasing his pace. “With your heart, mind, and body. I’m going to earn that trust, but you gotta let me in.”

“I will, baby,” I moaned, wrapping my arms and legs around him as he hardened his strokes.

“Promise me.”

“I-I promise!” I cried out, rocking against him.

“Mm.”

His arm wrapped around me, and he bounced me on his dick. The growl he released against my ear made my eyes roll as I trembled. With a shiver, he came inside of me, and his eruption triggered mine.
