The Loch Eilein Covenant

Following the Battle of Loch Eilein, we the undersigned establish this sacred Covenant.

Five young heirs were thrown into battle and survived through Divine Providence and the valor of their kinsmen. The sons herein named shall be raised together in brotherhood, trained in war and diplomacy, and protected by all signatory clans as blood kin.

The sons chosen:

Euan MacLeod, aged six years, son and heir of Laird Murtagh MacLeod

Calum MacKinnon, aged seven years, son and heir of Laird Duncan MacKinnon

David MacDonald, aged eight years, son and heir of Laird Ewan MacDonald

Archibald MacRae, aged nine years, son and heir of Laird Coinneach MacRae

Lachlann MacNeil, aged five years, son and heir of Laird Tormod MacNeil

Should any clan break this Peace Covenant or raise arms against a sworn brother, let them be cast out and cursed before God.

This Covenant shall endure so long as these five men draw breath.

From blood and betrayal, let brotherhood rise.

Signed and sealed by the Lairds of Clans MacLeod, MacKinnon, MacDonald, MacRae, and MacNeil. Witnessed by Father Hamish of Dunvegan.
