The Little Things
Prologue
I’ve spent years trying to rid my brain of him. I’ve dated and tried my hardest not to compare but no one begins to amount to him. Who am I joking? No one ever will.
It all started a couple of days after we graduated high school.
He picked me up and we had an amazing day. We spent the entire morning and afternoon doing some of my favorite things.
Then daylight turned to night, and I quickly wished I could have stopped time, deleting those memories for good.
“I’m so sorry, Callie Grace.”
That day broke me.
I was left standing at the end of my driveway, my heart shattered into a million pieces all over the asphalt. Tears staining my favorite shirt.
I’ll never look at love the same way.
I’ll never look at him the same way.
Or at least… that’s what I thought.
