Chapter Twenty

I”ve been splitting my time between packing up my dad”s house and working at Nat”s shop to give him a break. I”ll be heading back to Miami for a few days to finish up the client I bailed on to come home, only giving me two more days here with Ryan. That thought makes me chuckle. I didn’t think Central Falls would feel like home again but really, wherever Ryan is will feel like home. I’ve spent so much time fighting my feelings for her, I feel like a damn fool. The past week has been exhilarating. The creepy ass notes aside, being with her has been more than anything I could have ever imagined.

I just get done cleaning up after my latest session at Nat’s when my phone dings with a text notification.

Hadley is going to pick me up from the studio. Meet us at Mud House?

I’ll head there as soon as I’m done cleaning up.

Ryan

I miss you too.

I grin at her response. I don’t know how I’m going to survive the distance when I have to go back to Miami. I groan as I finish the process of sanitizing my station.

Thirty minutes later I’m walking through the doors of Mud House. I see Pickle’s teal hair first before Ryan comes into focus. The weather is cooler today which explains why she’s wearing a cropped long sleeve t-shirt with another pair of yoga pants. The way she fills out her shirt leaves the soft skin along the underside of her breast exposed. My mouth dries at the sight. I close the distance between us, dragging her into my arms, my mouth crashing against hers with an urgent need. She moans softly into my mouth before pushing gently against my chest. I part my lips from hers, pressing my forehead against her shoulder. I don’t release her, just breathing in her distinct scent, letting it wash over me.

“I really fucking like this top,” I growl softly against her neck as I graze my finger tips under her breast. She shivers in my arms.

“I guess I’ll need to wear only this for you at home then.” I can feel her smile against my chest.

“Ok you two, break it up.” Kayleigh groans from behind us, “Ry, I love you girl, but get a damn room.”

Hadley erupts in laughter behind us. “Oh Kay, if you only knew how long I’ve been waiting for this to happen. I’m really surprised they’ve even come up for air long enough to grace us with their presence since they got their heads out of their asses.”

“Mo Ghrá” I hear Connor’s brogue cut through the laughter, the tone a clear admonishment.

Ryan turns to face the newcomer while still holding my waist.

“Baby!” Hadley squeals as she turns to see him heading towards us. She leaps into his arms as soon as he reaches her, wrapping her legs around his waist. They share a passionate kiss that puts Ryan and I to shame.

“Not you too.” Kayleigh groans, attempting to hide her own laughter.

Connor gently places Hadley back on the ground and hugs Kayleigh. “How’s my favorite girl?”

“Oh, she’s a wild child. Both of the kids asked when you two were coming over again.” She and Connor share a smile.

“We’ll take them next weekend, you and Liam can enjoy some alone time,” Hadley interjects. “I can’t let my favorite man down.”

I glance at Ryan in question. Their kids, she mouths. I nod in understanding before releasing her and stepping forward to shake Connor’s hand.

“Nice to see you, man.” I smile at him.

Ryan and I get back to her place after dinner. We’re sitting on the couch with her tight little ass right at my cock and her back leaning against my chest. My arms are wrapped around her as we watch an episode of Gilmore Girls. She’s seen this episode at least a hundred and one times. I’m absentmindedly running my hands up and down her forearms as the scene plays out before us: Collin and Logan burst into Rory’s class at Yale while the Chilton student Rory is hosting sits next to her. They cause a scene, fake fighting, and before Finn comes in, wearing a British Bobby uniform, I pause the episode. She’s mid laugh and turns around to face me.

“Listen, no matter how much I love a person, I will throw hands at anyone who interrupts this episode. Especially this scene!” she snarls. Honestly, it’s adorable.

“Sorry, beautiful. But I need to ask you something.” I chuckle.

She stiffens in my arms waiting for me to continue.

“I need to go back to Miami the day after tomorrow.” Ry freezes at my words.

“You’re leaving?” her voice is barely a whisper.

“I don’t want to be away from you when I only need to be there for a few days,” I give her a smirk, the one I know melts her and she relaxes back into me. “Come with me?”

“If I say yes, will you start this scene over from the beginning?” Her grin makes me chuckle.

“Anything for you, Kitten.” At that, Ellie leaps onto Ry’s lap and snuggles in for the re-watch and the rest of the episode.
