Vincent stood in front of me with a gentle expression. "Don't worry, Emma's condition is just a minor surgery, she'll be out in half an hour."

Hearing his reassurance, I suddenly snapped back to reality.

Seeing the surgery notice with Emma's name on it in my hand, I finally confirmed that I had been reborn.

I was reborn on the day of Emma's surgery.

In my previous life, ever since Emma was diagnosed with a liver tumor, Vincent had been very worried.

Even though all the tests were done at the hospital where he worked and the tumor was confirmed to be benign, he still wasn't at ease and postponed several academic conferences to personally operate on Emma.

Ethan, with ten years of clinical experience, was also so worried that he stayed by Emma's bedside all night.

Ryan was even more afraid something might happen to Emma, so he returned from a renowned hospital abroad to personally oversee her surgery.

Three top liver disease experts spent three days and nights repeatedly discussing a benign liver tumor. They even devised a detailed plan on how many stitches to use for suturing and how to ensure no scars after surgery.

With them around, I feel at ease.

Emma's pre-surgery indicators were all normal; if not for the tricky angle, it could have been resolved minimally invasively.

So on the day of the surgery, I didnt enter the operating room and just waited outside.

But it was this decision that ended both Emma's and my life, leaving me unable to rest in peace.

On the day of the surgery, when Emma's abdomen was opened, Vincent took one glance at the abdominal cavity, instantly turned pale with fright, and without hesitation, put away the scalpel and announced the surgery was halted.

Staring at the dimmed operating room light, I froze in shock. "Vincent, didnt you say it was a benign tumor? What happened? Why stop the surgery?"

But he didnt answer me and directly arranged for Emmas discharge.

I wanted to stop him, but he was cold and his voice was full of anger. "Olivia, this surgery absolutely cannot be done!"

I was startled by his words. Just yesterday, he personally told me that Emma's tumor was pressing on nerves and blood vessels and must be removed as soon as possible, or it would be life-threatening.

My legs went weak, and before Emma was wheeled out of the operating room, I quickly called Ethan and Ryan.

The two, who were on standby at the hospital, arrived quickly.

Seeing them, Vincent not only didnt panic but even seemed much more relaxed.

I grabbed Ryan's hand, tears streaming down. "Emma is still lying on the operating table. Please go save her."

Ryan saw the bill in Vincent's hand and roared, "Why can't such a simple surgery be done?"

Vincent said nothing, pulling Ryan toward the operating room. I followed, but they wouldnt let me in. I could only see through the glass as Emma lay motionless on the operating table with her abdomen opened.

Ryan picked up the scalpel in a tense but orderly manner, just about to start the surgery, but the moment he saw Emma's abdominal cavity, the anger on his face turned to terror.

The scalpel dropped to the ground, and he grabbed the scissors nearby, stabbing them toward Emma's wound.
