Dallas
Tonight was special. Not only were we going to Chained, but we were going with our daddy. Officially our daddy. We were all going together. It was exciting to go to the club as a unit. Chained was a place of safety and acceptance. I knew that no one in the place would bat an eye at two littles with their daddy, but it meant something to me to go there together.
To have our daddy play with us.
“Ready?” Colter knocked on the door but pushed it open before I answered. He had seen all of me so, even if I was naked, there was nothing to hide.
“Yeah. I’ve got my bag. Why am I nervous?” I asked, placing my palm to my tummy.
“Is it nervous, or is it excited?” Colter asked, coming over to hug me. “Because I’m excited, but it feels the same inside.”
I pulled him in for a kiss. “You’re right. I think this is excitement. It’s hard to tell them apart.”
He nodded. “Ari should be here soon. He’s taking us to eat first. Did you see the text?”
I hadn’t. I was in the shower, so I supposed I’d missed it during that time.
“No. Where are we going?”
Ari picked us up sometime later, and we went to a cute restaurant I hadn’t heard of before. It was Ari’s favorite burger place. They had kids’ meals, of course, but after my shift, I was hungry for a bigger meal. We had burgers and chili cheese fries, and Ari ordered all three of us their special peanut butter shake with a huge peanut butter cookie on top, stabbed by the straw.
I loved peanut butter, but Colter? My playmate lived for it.
I took a video of him enjoying the milkshake. He looked so damned happy.
We got to the club. Ari wanted a drink, so we moved to the bar so he could get one. I recognized some of the other littles and one of them gave us a thumbs-up. Silly.
In the playroom, Ari sat back with the other daddies while we went to play. We talked with some of the other littles, and they had taken notice of us with Ari. Some of them had daddies, and others wished they had one like ours. Our daddy was strong, with broad shoulders and loving eyes. All my life, daydreaming and wishing for a daddy, but those dreams held nothing compared to Ari.
“Can I play with you?” Another little walked up. I hadn’t seen him before.
Colter smiled and nodded. “Sure. We were about to play house with our animals.” Chained had a collection of all kinds of animals. They had large heads and big eyes. Cartoon versions of every animal I could think of. They even had a farm and a house where we ran through different scenarios, playing out our dreams.
I got the lion because I loved lions. Colter picked the horse. “My name is Joey. What’s yours?” the new playmate asked.
“My name is Dallas and this is Colter. He’s my…” Shoot. I hadn’t prepped for this.
“We are together,” Colter said, winking at me.
“Oh. Two littles? But what about a daddy?” Joey asked. He grabbed a cat and made meowing noises. I put my lion in the barn, even though that was silly. Lions didn’t live in barns. Colter giggled at me.
“That’s our daddy over there,” Colter said. “The one with the brown hair. Wearing all black.”
Ari looked incredible in all black. He had this presence about him. Daddy or not, he owned every room. People of all kinds turned to notice when he passed them.
He garnered attention whether he wanted to or not.
“Oh, he’s nice.”
“You don’t have a daddy?” I asked.
“No. Not yet. But I’m looking for one. I want one.”
I patted him on the back. It was hard to find the right person to care for us the way we needed and moreover deserved. “I’m sure you’ll find one here.”
While we played, I thought about our living situation. I hoped to live with Ari, both Colter and I, but at the same time, I loved the little house. It was safe and accepting, and that’s what every little wanted.
Still, we had found those things in Ari and no longer had to search for them. Ari’s home was now my second home, and the nights I slept in my bed alone or even with only Colter, I missed Ari.
Missed my man’s arms around me, holding me tight, keeping me warm.
“Mind if I join you?” Joey had moved on to the louder toys when Ari sat in between Colter and me.
“Not at all. What animal do you want, Daddy?” I asked, holding up the container.
“Hmmm, I do a make an excellent elephant noise, but maybe a puppy for now. I know you two like your quiet play.”
Colter giggled. “One day I want to hear that noise.”
“We could get a book with an elephant in it. Then you can see my talent.”
He sat between us in his pristine button-down shirt and slacks, looking like an ink blot on an otherwise colorful and playful room.
This was where I wanted to be, I realized, with these two, for the rest of my life.
