CHAPTER 36

Harrison

I wake up the next morning to one of my favorite sounds—Ivy’s sex moan.

I smile. I don’t know who’s causing the sound, but honestly, Ford and Liam are equally good at making her sound like that. Then again, Ivy might be causing that sound by herself. I don’t hear a buzzing indicating she’s getting any battery-powered help, but the girl has fingers after all.

But I need to be sure she knows that even if I’m asleep, if I’m here I’m very happy to be awakened to help her out. I stretch and roll to my right.

I open my eyes and see that Ivy’s on her back, neck arched, gorgeous breasts exposed and a lump moving under the sheet, presumably between her legs. Which means I still don’t know who it is.

I’m going to guess Ford. Liam probably got up and went to see Sam. My grandfather, after all, deserves a thank you for making sure we got to Denver to intercept Liam rather than going all the way to L.A. And he was the one who stayed in touch with Liam when the rest of us lost our phones.

“Oh my God,” Ivy moans, her hands gripping the sheets.

I lean over and run my stubbled chin up over her shoulder to her neck. “My favorite alarm clock,” I murmur in her ear.

Almost as if she’s just reacting on instinct, she turns toward me, kissing me. I cup her breast, teasing her nipple, and she quickly pulls back, gasping, and then coming.

Fuck, she’s gorgeous. I stroke her cheek, wide awake now, my cock throbbing.

God, I get to do this every morning for the rest of my life.

Ford crawls up her body, emerging from under the sheet with a huge grin. He glances at me. “Morning,” he says, his tone smug. Then he seals his mouth over Ivy’s, kissing her deeply.

The sheet still covers their lower halves but she obviously wraps her legs around him and a moment later his ass is moving up and down as he fucks her.

And I just lie there.

I don’t know that I would have ever imagined this a year ago. Or five years ago.

But this is my dream life. It really is. Three people who love me just as I am and who I want to see every day, take care of, share everything with, who just fit . They fit into my life, into my family, into my plans perfectly.

They both quickly orgasm, Ivy clinging to Ford and crying out his name, while he groans her name.

He kisses her again, but then rolls to her side opposite of me and she reaches over, looping her arm around my neck and pulling me in for a long kiss.

“Good morning,” she says against my mouth.

My hand is sliding down over her belly and she’s shifting closer when we hear, “Hello? Anyone home?”

We all freeze.

“Good morning! Hello!”

Yep, that’s Ford’s mom’s voice.

And I’m sure my mom is…

“You’re not all still asleep, are you?” my mother calls up the stairs from the kitchen.

I sigh.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Ford mutters.

Ivy giggles. He gives her a fake glare.

“They’re just so happy that the two of you are living together now,” she whispers.

“Yeah, we might need to reconsider that,” Ford says quietly.

Ivy gasps. “No! We all have to live together.”

He leans in. “But it means we have moms and dads crashing our morning plans every weekend.” He nuzzles her neck. “You won’t get all the attention that you need.”

“I love your mom and dad,” she says, tipping her head so he can get at more of her neck.

“But how are we going to keep you satisfied?” I ask, moving in to nuzzle the other side of her neck and sliding my hand lower.

She gives a little moan. “Well, you have a point.”

“Do not go up there, Daphne,” my father calls.

I pull my hand out from between Ivy’s legs. I can’t help it. It’s an instinct.

“I’m not going all the way up,” she says. “But they might not be able to hear me.”

Ivy covers her mouth with her hand to stifle a laugh.

“Oh, you think that’s funny?” I ask her, running my hand over her pussy. “You think it’s funny that you’re going to have to settle for cinnamon rolls and egg bake instead of another orgasm?”

“We could just leave the food on the counter and come back later,” Ford’s mom says.

Ivy grins up at me. “I really love cinnamon rolls and egg bake.”

Ford growls. “You’re going to get spanked for that later,” he tells her.

She gives a little wiggle. “Oh, no,” she says. “That sounds terrible. Cinnamon rolls, egg bake, time with your lovely parents, and a spanking. Please. No.”

I can’t hold back my laugh. “I love you, you little brat.”

Her giggles are quiet but her smile is so sweet, my heart squeezes. “I love you too, Harrison.”

I lean in and kiss her. “I know. Everybody loves me.”

But she catches my face between her hands when I try to pull back. She looks me directly in the eyes. “I know they do,” she says. “But I love love you. And I’m so happy to be spending forever with you.”

Jesus. This girl. I relax my expression and let her see my real emotions. All the love and awe and happiness she and Ford and Liam inspire. “Forever isn’t long enough.”

She smiles a smile that I will never get tired of seeing.

Ford reaches over and squeezes my shoulder. “There you go. That wasn’t so hard, was it?”

I shake my head and smile at him, too. “Shut up.”

He laughs.

Then we hear, “Yep, give me a second, I’ll get them.”

Liam’s here.

We all look at one another.

Ford looks down at Ivy. “Well, are you going to shower and get all cleaned up, or are you ready to let the parents know how we debauch you every chance we have?”

“I think the parents are very aware of the debauching,” Liam says from the doorway.

“Hey,” I greet. “You have perfect timing.”

“Sam got the text from Bill that breakfast was starting.”

“So Sam’s here too?” Ivy asks, clearly very amused.

“Walt and Ed too,” Liam says.

Ivy sits up, laughing. “I need to shower.”

She’s naked, crawling across me to get out of bed, and there’s no way I can keep from running my hand over her ass.

“They could wait ten minutes,” I say, giving her a squeeze.

She keeps going.

“Or twenty,” Liam adds, his eyes on her too.

“You all need to go down and entertain our guests,” she says, padding across the room toward the bathroom.

Her hips have a little extra sway. She loves our eyes all on her.

“I should shower too though,” Ford says, pushing up from the bed.

“You don’t get to shower with her if Harrison and I have to go downstairs,” Liam protests.

“I got dirty with her before they got here,” Ford says, smugly, starting for the bathroom.

“Oh, I’m the gentleman who lets her sleep, and this is what I get?” Liam calls after them.

I push up from the bed and cross to where he’s standing. I cup the back of his neck, pull him in, and kiss him. “You get this.” I kiss him again. “And my dad’s cinnamon rolls. They really are amazing.”

He hugs me. “We’ll make Ford and Ivy do the dishes and we can shower together later.”

“Deal.”

We make our way downstairs and I pause in the doorway to the kitchen for a moment just absorbing the sight of my family, Ford’s family, and my grandfather’s best friends welcoming Liam into their midst as if he’s been a part of their lives for years instead of just days.

God, I love him so much.

And I almost lost him.

How could I have let him go? How could I have not just said, “Let’s go,” packed up, and gone to L.A. with him?

I’m relieved the show is going to let him work remotely, but I should have been willing to go wherever he went.

I have to be sure he knows that.

I think I’m going to propose to him.

Maybe not today. But someday soon. It should be me. I’m the one who has a hard time with this commitment thing and I need to prove to him I’m done with that.

Liam is it for me. Him and Ivy and Ford.

This is it. Whatever that means, wherever we need to be for them to be happy.

Because I’ll be happy as long as I’m with them.

I join them at the table and somehow participate in the conversation without anyone wondering what’s going on with me. Eating three cinnamon rolls helps.

But the second Ivy and Ford step into the room, wet hair, big grins, Ford’s hand on her ass, I stand up.

“Um, hey, everyone?”

They are all quiet and turn to face me.

“Are you okay, dear?” my mom asks.

“Yes. I’m great.”

“You look flushed. Are you sick?” my dad asks.

“He does look flushed,” Greg agrees.

“I’m not sick, I’m fine,” I assure them.

“You do look tense, though. What’s going on?” my grandfather asks.

“I’m trying to tell you,” I tell them.

“Is it the FBI?” Ed asks. “Have they found something?”

“No, it’s not the FBI. That’s all fine,” I say.

“Oh good,” my mother says. She looks at Regina. “Can you believe that we had the FBI here investigating our kids?”

“Well, they weren’t really investigating the kids,” Dad says. “They’re investigating Brad and just questioned the kids.”

“Oh, you know what I mean,” Mom says. “It was the FBI .”

“I just can’t believe Brad did all of that,” Regina says. “We’ve known him since he was born! All those years. And his poor parents.”

“Okay!” I say loudly. “I have something to say and it’s not about the FBI or Brad! I’m not sick, and I’m not tense!”

I’m a little tense, but…

“Then what’s wrong?” Liam asks.

I focus on him. “Nothing. Absolutely nothing is wrong.” I drop back into my seat and face him. “In fact, everything is completely right . Now. Because you’re here. Because of you and Ivy.”

I look up and find her. She’s watching me. The look on her face is so sweet. And I think she knows exactly what I’m about to say.

I give her a wink. She grins.

“So what do you have to say in front of everyone right at this very moment?” Ford asks.

I look at the guy who’s been my best friend all of my life. The one who knows me better than anyone. The one who I can’t imagine living without and who I now won’t ever have to.

Ford also knows what I’m about to say.

“I need to say that…” I look at Liam. “I’m in love with you. Madly. Completely. I’ve never felt like this before, and I need you to know that I never want to be without you. No matter what that means or where I need to go or what I need to do to make that happen.”

Liam is watching me with surprise. But…pleasure.

“Will you marry me, Liam?”

I hear Ivy’s little, happy squeak and I see her and Ford hug.

My mom gasps.

My dad slides an arm around her and pulls her into a hug.

My grandfather grins, nodding.

Regina has her hand over her mouth, and Greg is grinning widely.

Then I concentrate on Liam.

He slowly smiles. “Wow.”

“Just wow? How about a yes? Or even a fuck yes?” I ask.

“Oh, fuck yes,” he says with a nod.

My heart flips over. I lean in. Then I pause, “What was the wow for?”

“You just really took charge there,” he says.

I narrow my eyes and lean closer. “Yeah, I did. And I did a hell of a job, didn’t I?”

He leans closer too. “Yeah, you did.”

I start to kiss him, but he puts a hand on the back of my head, threads his fingers into my hair, and tugs gently. “But let’s not make that a regular thing, okay?” he mutters against my mouth.

I laugh lightly. “Okay.”

And I’m suddenly happy that our family crashed our brunch plans.

This time.

But as Liam puts his mouth against my ear and says, “I love you so fucking much and I can’t wait to get my fiancé upstairs,” I realize that we’re going to need to establish some rules with our family.

Or change the locks.

Or both.
