Transmigrated to Tempt the Divine Lord

Transmigrated to Tempt the Divine Lord

By Sherry Shindelar

Chapter 1

DivineLord has sheltered all living beings for ten thousand years. The incense in DivineCapital burns day and night without end.

I was just passing through DivineCapital when the once-in-a-century grand ceremony happened to be taking place.

Divine light descended from the heavens, selecting three fated people, each granted one wish.

The young master from a noble clan wished to become the foremost sword cultivator.

The little princess wished for her nation to enjoy favorable weather and everlasting peace.

I was lucky enough to be chosen too, but I couldn’t think of anything I wanted.

So I said, “I wish for DivineLord to have his heart’s desires fulfilled.”

The moment the words left my mouth, an uproar erupted.

“Wasteful idiot!”

“Such a perfect chance to make a wish, and she throws it away!”

“Where did this country bumpkin come from, trying to flatter DivineLord? Hilarious. As if DivineLord needs that!”

The three of us had barely stepped off the platform before we were surrounded.

The sword cultivator boy’s family elders were weeping with joy—finally, their clan had hope of rising to glory.

The little princess was encircled by her father the emperor and his ministers, all praising her for being such a sensible, good child.

And me—

My mom pushed through the crowd and rushed over, wiping nonexistent sweat from my forehead.

“This ridiculous grand ceremony wore my Nannan out…”

“Little Cui, hurry and hold an umbrella for Miss!”

My dad, jiggling with every step, stuffed a huge bag of snacks into my arms.

“Nannan, eat something. Don’t go hungry.”

I looked down—and my eyes lit up instantly.

It was the legendary StarfallPastry!

The fragrance hit me before I even opened the package.

StarfallPastry turns to nothing the moment it leaves DivineCapital’s borders. You can only taste it by coming here in person.

I’d been drooling over it for ages.

I couldn’t wait. I took one bite—crisp outside, shattering inside. Tiny sparks of starlight seemed to burst on my tongue.

A warm current slid down my throat, spreading comfort through every limb.

“Mmm… so good!”

I squinted in pure bliss, the whole wish thing completely forgotten.

People who had been pointing and whispering at me suddenly shut up.

Now all I heard were gasps.

“Holy crap, is that real StarfallPastry? One bite costs an entire house in DivineCapital?”

“She really is wasteful… eating it like that is straight-up blasphemy.”

“I heard paired with cultivation, one piece equals a Qi-Gathering Pill!”

“No wonder she didn’t wish for anything. If I could just taste a crumb, my whole life would be complete.”

I’m a transmigrator here in TaiyuanRealm, a full-on cultivation world.

My dad is just an ordinary wealthy merchant.

All these years, I’ve traveled everywhere with my parents, mastering every kind of food, fun, and leisure.

Today we happened to pass through the long-dreamed-of DivineCapital.

It was the once-in-a-century AwakeningCeremony.

People traveled thousands of miles hoping for even the tiniest chance to be accepted by ShenduSect.

For cultivators, a century is just a blink. For ordinary people like us, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime event.

I dragged my parents along to join the excitement.

Then, out of nowhere, the laws of heaven activated.

A beam of light chose me and instantly teleported me to the central DivineAltar.

Just like that, I was forced to make a wish.

My family is harmonious, my parents adore me, I lack for nothing.

There really wasn’t anything I needed to wish for.

Since childhood, my dad taught me nothing comes without effort.

I’ve always been wary of pies falling from the sky.

So I wished DivineLord’s wishes would come true.

He’s protected all living beings for ten thousand years—maybe he has a wish too?
