Chapter Twenty-Seven

Noah

I wake up earlier than usual, the warm glow of the morning light creeping through the curtains.

Today’s the day I’ve been planning for weeks, and I can feel the excitement building in my chest.

Blossom is still asleep, her steady breathing filling the room as I slip out of bed quietly, careful not to wake her.

For so long, I thought letting go of Whittney meant betraying her memory. But today, standing on the edge of forever with Blossom, I realize love isn’t about replacing the past—it’s about building a future.

I head to the lobby to meet with a specialty vendor who’s arriving early to drop off prints for a surprise I’ve been working on for Blossom. I can’t wait for her to see it, to see how much I appreciate her and her work.

I spot the printer in the lobby, waiting with a set of large, rolled-up prints under his arm. He gives me a friendly nod as I approach. “Morning, Mr. Hudson,” he greets me.

“Morning,” I reply with a smile. “Let’s get these up. Where do you recommend we start hanging them?”

He raises an eyebrow and smiles. “Well, we could start with the big pieces, but I’m guessing you want these spread out, huh?”

I nod. “All over the hotel. Every room. Every hallway.”

The printer looks taken aback for a moment, then grins. “Got it. Let’s do it.”

As we start to roll out the prints and begin hanging them around the hotel, I can’t help but feel a rush of anticipation. Today, I’m giving Blossom something she’ll never expect. And it’s going to be perfect.

We begin working quickly, moving from one section of the hotel to the next, carefully placing the prints in locations that highlight their beauty. I’m thrilled with how it’s all coming together.

Blossom’s work is stunning. I’ve printed landscapes from her travels, cityscapes from her time in New York, and shots of quiet, serene moments that capture a beauty I’ve been missing in the world until I met her.

I found the images by accident while I was going through her files, looking for something unrelated. But when I saw the photos, I couldn’t stop looking. They were filled with life, vibrancy, and an honesty that I knew would be perfect for the hotel.

As the printer and I hang each piece, I can already picture Blossom’s reaction, her face lighting up as she walks through the hotel, seeing her work displayed everywhere. I know it will mean the world to her, and it means just as much to me, to show her how much I truly see her, how much I want to support her dreams.

We place the last print in the hallway near the bar, and I take a step back, admiring how everything looks. The hotel is transformed, each piece adding something unique to the space. I can’t wait for Blossom to see them.

Just as we finish up in the lobby, Nicole rolls by, taking a quick glance at the artwork hanging on the walls. She stops and stares for a moment, clearly impressed. “Wow, these are beautiful,” she says, her voice soft with admiration.

I smile, watching her take in the work. “They are, aren’t they? It’s all Blossom’s. Her photos.”

Nicole’s eyes widen as she takes another look at the prints. “Really? Wow, she really has a good eye. These are amazing.”

I can’t help but feel a swell of pride. “Yeah, she’s got talent. She just doesn’t know how good she is.”

Nicole raises an eyebrow, her expression turning playful. “And you, Noah, are really trying to impress her, aren’t you?”

I chuckle, glancing over at her. “I guess I am. What about you, Nicole? How’s it going with Amy?”

Nicole’s lips curl into a smirk, and she lowers her voice as if sharing a secret. “About as well as things between you and Blossom.” She winks at me before rolling away, leaving me to stand there with a smile on my face.

I’m not going to lie, I feel a bit of satisfaction knowing that Nicole sees my love for Blossom. This isn’t just about me making a gesture. It’s about Blossom and me, and I’m doing everything I can to show her that I’m here, fully in this.

By the time we’ve hung the last print, I get a text from Blossom. It’s simple but enough to shift my focus.

Hey, where did you go? You disappeared this morning.

I glance at the clock and realize it’s getting close to the time I promised I’d be back. I quickly wrap things up with the printer and head back to the penthouse, feeling that familiar flutter of anticipation in my chest. I can’t wait for Blossom to see everything I’ve done.

When I arrive, she’s sitting on the couch, her hair still messy from sleep, her expression soft. She looks up at me as I walk in, her eyes bright with curiosity.

“Hey,” I say, grinning. “I have a surprise for you.”

She raises an eyebrow, a playful glint in her eyes. “Another surprise? Am I going to need a suitcase again like last time?”

I laugh and shake my head. “No suitcase required this time,” I reply, my heart racing a little as I lead her to the door.

“I promise, you’re going to love it.”

I open the door to the hotel hallway, and she steps out with me. Her eyes widen as she takes in the sight of her own work displayed throughout the hotel.

Her jaw drops, and she spins to look at me, stunned. “Noah...you did all this?”

I smile, watching her reaction. “Yeah, I did. I wanted everyone to see just how amazing you are.”

Tears spring to her eyes, and she pulls me into a tight embrace, her heart beating against mine. "This is...beyond anything I could’ve imagined. Thank you."

“You’re welcome,” I whisper, kissing the top of her head. “You deserve it.”

She takes my hand as I lead her through the hotel, and I feel a rush of emotions as we move from room to room. Each space we step into feels like I’m walking through her own dreams. My heart skips a beat as I take in the prints adorning the walls.

Every hallway is lined with her photographs, and each room has a different piece of my work displayed like it belongs there.

In every corner of the hotel, there’s a piece of her vision of the world: images of New York City skylines, sprawling landscapes from travel, intimate moments captured in time.

“I never imagined my work would be showcased like this, especially not at such a prestigious hotel,” Blossom says, and I can’t help but kiss her.

We stop in the middle of one room, her eyes scanning the wall in awe. “This is...this is huge. I can’t believe it, Noah. This is—this is my work, all over the Hudson Hotel.”

I smile, my pride in her shining through. “You deserve it. This hotel is more than just a business to me—it’s about legacy, and I want your legacy to be part of it.”

I see tears prick at her eyes, overwhelmed by the recognition and my support. “Thank you,” she whispers. “This is more than I ever expected.”

After seeing her work hanging in every corner of the hotel, I take her to the hotel’s restaurant for breakfast. We sit at a cozy table by the window, and I feel like I’m on cloud nine just by taking in the beaming smile Blossom has on her face.

As we sip our coffee, the conversation shifts to her work. I lean back in my chair, looking over to her. “I was thinking about the restaurant, and how your work could fit in here too. We could do a whole feature wall with some of your best cityscapes—something to really set the mood for the space.”

She smiles, big and wide. “You really want my work everywhere?”

I nod, my gaze steady. “I want your fingerprints all over this place. I want this hotel to feel like yours as much as mine. You’re not just my partner, Blossom, you’re the heart of this hotel now. Your art...it’s a part of who we are.”

I feel a lump form in my throat at my words. It’s overwhelming, in the best possible way. I never thought I’d be in a position like this, to open up to her, to anyone.

“You make me feel so seen,” she says softly, her eyes meeting mine.

I smile, reaching for her hand. “You should feel that way, always.”

After breakfast, we spend the rest of the afternoon in her office, surrounded by plans for the hotel. We’ve spread out blueprints and ideas on the table, figuring out where each new piece of artwork will go and how we can incorporate the changes we’ve talked about.

It’s exhilarating, and I feel like we’re building something together, not just for the hotel, but for ourselves.

As we discuss the layout of the hotel, I lean over the table, scanning the plans as I listen intently to her suggestions. I’m drawn into the rhythm of the conversation, feeling connected to her in a way I never thought possible.

Her plans for our future make me feel so grounded.

As she glances over to me, I can’t help but think of how much she’s been there for me.

I can feel my heart pounding in my chest as I take Blossom’s hand and lead her out of the office. She looks up at me with those curious eyes, but I can tell she’s trusting me, just as she always does. There’s a slight nervousness in me too, but I push it aside.

Tonight is the night.

“Where are we going?” she asks softly, her voice warm with curiosity.

I smile down at her, trying to hide the excitement bubbling up inside me. “I’ve got another surprise for you. Just trust me,” I say, giving her hand a reassuring squeeze.

We make our way to the private elevator, and when the doors open, I guide her to the staircase that leads to the rooftop. She follows without question, her eyes on me, probably wondering what kind of surprise I’ve got planned now.

When we step out onto the roof, the wind hits us immediately.

I feel her shiver next to me, but I pull her closer, my arm wrapped around her to keep her warm. The view from the top of the hotel is breathtaking, the city sprawled out beneath us, lit up like a million tiny stars in the distance.

New York is alive, but up here, it’s just us. I take a deep breath, steadying myself.

I turn to her, the words I’ve been rehearsing in my head finally spilling out. I drop to one knee, and I see the surprise flicker across her face.

“Blossom,” I say, my voice steady despite the pounding in my chest, “I’ve never been more sure of anything or anyone in my life. I love you. Will you marry me?”

Her eyes widen, and I watch as she blinks away tears. And then, her voice, filled with emotion, says what I’ve been hoping for.

“Yes! Yes, of course!”

I pull her into my arms immediately and we kiss, the wind swirling around us, the city lights twinkling like they’re celebrating with us. I hold her tight, knowing that this moment is everything I’ve dreamed of: us, together, forever.

Our hands are all over each other as we return to the penthouse, and I feel embarrassed later thinking of how Nicole probably saw us on the camera feed, but I don’t care.

I love Blossom. I want her in my life forever, and I don’t care if everyone in this hotel hears me fucking my bride-to-be.

As we make love that night, our bodies communicate in a way far deeper than before.

Her whispering she loves me brings me to the edge, making me want to weep and cheer at the same time. Blossom brings everything out of me that I thought was long dead, and with each thrust, I feel like my body is trying to communicate how much I have needed her.

I need you Blossom, forever , my body says, and she responds in kind, giving me new kinds of pleasure I never thought I would know.
