EPILOGUE

M y skin burned with the coldness that circulated like icy steel over every drop of my flesh. My bones ached as though they were throwing a tantrum. Every ancient Seelie part of me knew I wasn’t supposed to be where I was. For a moment, it felt like my body was about to combust with the icy sensation, but then I was relieved of the horrible feeling.

The presence of people whispered like a threat at my back as I hunched over the ground. Was that a horse whinnying? My fists tightened instinctually as I readied to defend myself. My hand clenched around something small and cylindrical. My mind sorted through random, unfamiliar images.

“Aurelius? What the…the fuck are you doing here?” Surprised blanketed the deep voice.

Where did I know that voice from?

I turned slowly to face the voice and was met with a pair of familiar brown eyes.
