CHAPTER 12
Day Five
SEA DAY
KATIE
“Katie, you have to come watch the movie with us,” Nessa urges me.
I roll my eyes at her tactics.
I don’t want to watch a movie with the group. I want to go back to the room and finish what we started before dinner.
It was hard sitting next to Dominic all dinner. His hands never left my skin for long. If he wasn’t running his fingers across my bare back, then his hand was on my thigh. It was so intimate and drove me insane.
I’m not even really sure what we talked about at dinner other than the pineapple discussion. The only reason I remember that is because of the way Dominic confidently ordered pineapple juice the rest of dinner.
I’m dying to know if it worked. I want to taste him again.
“I can fake a stomachache so we can go back to the room,” Dominic whispers in my ear as his hands trail down my back.
He jerks back when Nessa pushes him.
“Hands off, sir. I need my sister tonight. This is my bachelorette cruise. That means she has to spend time with me.”
I shake my head, a smile on my lips.
“I’m not abandoning you. We are going to go change and be right back.”
She narrows her eyes on me. “No tasting the pineapple juice. I expect you back here in ten minutes.”
“Can you even change and get back here in ten minutes?” I ask her.
She tosses her hair over her shoulder. “Don’t underestimate me.”
When they stop at the elevator, I make my way toward the stairs, but Dominic stops me. “We can take the elevator. Those heels have to be killing you.”
I smile up at him. “I can manage some stairs. I’d prefer not to get stuck with them in an elevator.”
He shakes his head. “Come on. What are the chances of getting stuck twice in one trip?”
I huff out a sigh. “Fine. You’ve convinced me.”
As we all step on the elevator, I crowd closer to Dominic. He doesn’t hesitate to pull me into his chest, caging me in with his arms. When his lips touch my shoulder, I shiver.
“Are you cold?” His whisper against my ear only makes my body press closer to him.
I can feel his erection pressing against my ass.
Somehow, Barrett ends up standing in front of me. When his hand moves closer to me, I shrink back farther.
As if Dominic can tell why my body language changed all of a sudden, he turns me in his arms before spinning me so he can press me against the wall.
Then he presses his lips against mine. We are only in the elevator a few minutes, but with the way he caresses my lips with his, it felt like much longer.
When the door finally opens, I pull back to look around Dominic.
Nessa glares at me. “Ten minutes.”
I nod, watching as everyone else gets off the elevator.
“I’m so glad we are on a different level,” I manage to breathe out.
It’s hard when he hasn’t moved an inch. He’s still pressed against me.
“Those guys can be rowdy. I didn’t want to be sharing a wall with them. Especially Barrett. I mean, he was with you when you booked it and I didn’t want to hear whatever you two were going to get up to.”
The doors open once again, so he steps back before grabbing my hand to pull me out.
“Well even if you had ended up sharing a wall with us, it’s not like you would’ve heard anything. Maybe a couple fake moans from me, but he never lasted long.”
He growls, stopping to press me against a wall. “You’re not his anymore, so it doesn’t matter.”
I swallow hard, looking up into his eyes. “No. No, I’m not.”
He nods once, letting me go and pulling me to our room.
Once inside, he starts going through his bag.
I walk over to mine, grabbing a pair of sleep shorts and his T-shirt. I could wear something else to our movie night, but it’s a movie. I want to be comfortable.
I slip into the bathroom, changing quickly. Then I wipe my face free of makeup. Once I unpin my hair, I toss it back up in a messy bun.
From elegant woman to comfy woman in less than five minutes.
When I step from the room and look toward Dominic, all thoughts leave my head.
There he stands in a pair of gray sweatpants and a T-shirt. My eyes seek out his dick like they are heat-seeking missiles.
There it is. The outline of his very impressive member.
“You cannot wear that out,” I tell him.
His eyes meet mine. “Why not?”
“You can see your package. Women are going to be hitting on you all night.”
He chuckles. “Is that a hint of jealousy I hear?”
I shake my head. “Nope. We have an image to maintain though. My ex is already flaunting a hussy with fake ass titties. I can’t have my pretend boyfriend talking to a bunch of girls.”
He steps closer to me, grabbing my dress from my hand to toss onto the couch. Then he pulls me against his body.
I can feel his length hardening against me.
“Does this still feel fake to you?”
I glance up at him, biting my bottom lip. “Isn’t that what we agreed on?”
He stares at me for a moment, a serious look in his eye. I want him to tell me no. That this is real. I need him to be the one to take the lead on this. My heart can’t handle the rejection if I were to be the one to say this is real when he still thinks it’s fake.
After a moment of silence, he shakes his head. “Talk about what I’m wearing. What about you? You’re asking to be stared at.”
“What? I’m legitimately in your shirt. Men will know I’m not available.”
He shakes his head again. “That and those short shorts only make you more appealing.”
“Whatever. We better go. Nessa will have our asses if we are late.”
“Fine, temptress. Let’s go.”
He keeps his hand in mine as we make our way up to the deck, taking the stairs this time. As soon as we step outside the doors, I shiver a little. It’s a bit windier than I anticipated.
I see our group right away. They’ve taken up a corner of loungers in front of the pool. We make our way over. As I take a seat next to Nessa, Dominic leans down, pressing a kiss to the top of my head.
“I’ll be right back, doll.”
“Where are you going?” I take in his outfit again, not really wanting him out of my sight.
I know he’s not really mine, but the jealousy I denied earlier is alive and well.
“I have to grab something.”
He doesn’t give me a chance to ask anything else as he takes off. My eyes follow him as he goes back inside.
“You are such a goner,” Nessa whispers to me.
I startle, looking at her. She smiles wider.
“Whatever. What movie is playing anyway?”
She shrugs. “Some superhero movie Grant wanted to see.”
“Ah.”
I get why she wanted me here. Neither one of us really cared for the superhero movies. Hell, I’m more likely to read a book than watch television. Still, it should be fun, I guess.
I feel someone sit in the chair next to me. I go to tell them to move since I was saving it for Dominic, but then I see it’s Barrett.
What’s even more surprising is that he is alone.
“Dominic will be back in a second. That’s his seat,” I tell him, not caring that I sound like a bitch.
His eyes look sad when they look back. “I wanted to check in with you. I know you broke up with me because I fucked up. Are you okay?”
I snort. “I’m doing fine. Where’s your bimbo girlfriend?”
“She’s not my girlfriend. Just some chick I met to keep my mind off you.”
If he had said this to me a month ago, I might have fallen for his shit, but not now.
No, instead all I can think is I hope Dominic comes back soon.
Especially when another breeze blows by, making me shiver.
“You’re cold. Here, take my jacket.” Barrett tries to hand me the item, but I shake my head.
“No thanks.”
Thankfully, the bartender comes over then. I quickly order Dominic’s beer of choice and a soda for myself. When I turn back, Barrett is still staring at me.
“What?” I ask him.
“I miss you.”
I am about to respond when Dominic is suddenly standing beside me.
“Hey babe. Everything okay?” His eyes glance to the seat that is supposed to be his, but is taken by my ex.
“Of course. Here, I was thinking we could share.” I lean forward, giving him room to slide behind me.
The worried look fades from his eye as he holds out popcorn to me. When I take it, he shakes out a blanket, laying it across my legs.
“Where did you get all of this?” I ask as he settles behind me.
When he wraps his arms around me, pulling me to his chest, I let out a sigh of contentment. I could lie like this all day with him.
“The popcorn is over at the bar. I ran downstairs to buy you the blanket. It’s too cold for your short shorts.”
“Seems like you went through an awful lot to keep me covered, honey,” I tease.
His hand finds my thigh under the blanket. “Didn’t say I minded looking at you. I don’t like other men looking at you.” I don’t miss the way he shoots a look to where Barrett sits. “Besides, I can’t have my girl be cold. Stay close. I’ll keep you warm.”
I roll my eyes at him. He leans down, pressing a kiss to the tip of my nose.
Something about that makes the butterflies erupt in my stomach.
It’s a small kiss on my nose, yet somehow it feels more intimate than when he kisses my lips. It feels like it means something more.
Sex can be only sex, but the small intimate touches and kisses mean this could be more.
Is he feeling what I’m feeling?
As the movie starts, I can’t focus on it. All I can focus on is the heat at my back. The small caresses of his hands under the blanket. The kisses to my exposed neck.
Somehow, this movie has turned into something more.
I’m not sure I’m ready for that yet.
DOMINIC
It is torture sitting through a movie with the woman of my dreams between my legs. I can’t even tell you what movie we are watching. Instead, my body is in tune with hers. My fingers trail along the skin of her legs. When she presses against me, my dick twitches in my pants. It’s been hard ever since she pressed her body against mine. If she can feel it, she doesn’t say anything.
It’s as if she is entranced by this movie.
Sliding my hand up to her hip underneath my shirt, I squeeze.
Her breathing changes a moment before she relaxes again.
When she leans forward to take a drink of her soda I press my lips onto her exposed neck.
She shoots me a look full of heat.
Fuck. I need to get her back to our room.
When the credits finally roll, I don’t even bother to finish my lukewarm beer she ordered for me. I slip from behind her, pulling her up with me.
I want to drag her out of there, but she’s talking to Nessa while she folds up the blanket I bought her.
I won’t lie. My chest hurt when I saw Barrett sitting next to her. He’s a douchebag, but he also has history with her.
What if he wanted her back? Would she go to him?
I want to say no, but earlier she said this is pretend.
If she is still pretending with me, then give the girl an Oscar. There is no way she can’t feel this chemistry between us.
When she finally turns to me, I let my eyes take her in, showing her my hunger.
That gets her ass moving. She quickly tells Nessa goodbye, coming to stand near me. As soon as she’s close, I press a kiss to the top of her head.
“Let’s go to bed, baby doll.”
Her voice is breathy as she replies, “Okay.”
I take the blanket from her, grabbing her hand. Then I lead her inside, not even bothering to say goodbye to our friends.
The walk to our room seems to drag on forever, but the anticipation that builds is delightful. I feel like if I have to go one more second without my lips on hers, I may die.
She must feel the same way because as soon as we walk through the door, she presses me against it, kissing me.
The sharp pain from the handle in my back has me pushing her backward, but I don’t stop kissing her.
When we get to the bed, I stop and step back.
“Strip.”
Her eyes flare at my command. Then she slowly runs her fingers across her thighs as she grips the hem of my T-shirt.
Fuck, she looks sexy as hell in my clothes.
Then all thoughts flee my mind as she pulls it up and over her head.
Seeing her bare breasts makes my heart beat faster.
I growl. “You weren’t wearing a bra that whole time?”
She gives me a coy smile, gripping her shorts. When she slowly lowers them, showing she is also not wearing panties, my control snaps.
I’m on her in a second, my lips bruising hers. Pushing her back, I lay her on the bed, crawling on top of her.
When I finally finish my assault on her lips, I start to kiss and nip my way along her neck. Each little sound she makes only has me wanting her more.
When I get to the side of her neck, she lets out this breathy whimper that I need to hear again. So I kiss her in that same spot before biting her. She groans, her body arching into me as I transition from biting to sucking and licking.
“Dominic, please. I need you.”
Leaning back, I leave her a moment. Her eyes are panicked, but when I tear my shirt off before pushing down my pants, she calms.
That’s right, baby doll. I’m going to fuck you.
When I move back over her, my fingers find her folds.
“You’re so wet and ready for me. I’m going to fuck you so hard. Tell me you want it.”
“I don’t want it. I need it. Dominic, fuck me.”
Hearing her so wanton has me moving quickly. Once at her entrance, I push in quickly, groaning as I have to thrust a couple of times until I’m fully inside her.
Then I stop, savoring her warmth around me.
“Dominic,” she says on a breathy whisper. “I don’t want to ruin the mood, but I’m not on birth control.”
My head meets her shoulder as I consider her words.
Why is she telling me this?
Then it hits me. I didn’t even consider a condom. I wanted her so bad, that I had thrust into her without protecting either of us.
What a fucking asshole.
“I’m sorry, Katie. I’ve never had sex without a condom. I didn’t even think about it with you. I’m clean, I swear.”
She pulls my head up, pressing her forehead against mine. “I’m clean too. I’m not worried about that. I’m more worried about a little me running around. Neither one of us needs that right now. How about you pull out and grab a condom so we can finish this? We can talk about the rest later.”
“Of course.” I pull out, missing her heat right away. “Do you have one?”
She frowns at me. “I figured you would. You’re the guy.”
I snort. “I thought you females were all about making sure you were covered. I wasn’t planning to get laid on this trip. I didn’t bring any.”
“Well, I was dumped a month ago, so needless to say, I also was not planning to get laid.”
I groan. “Fuck, I need you so bad. I’m throbbing.”
“Then you better go find a damn condom.”
I sigh. “I’ll be right back. I saw some in the shop.”
She smiles. “Don’t take too long, honey.”
I pull my sweats back on, ignoring the shirt before I grab my keycard and head out of the room. I take the stairs two at a time, trying to get there quicker.
When I’m finally outside the shop, I frown.
Closed.
“Son of a bitch.” I growl.
I can pick some up tomorrow, but I need one right now.
Running back down the stairs, I stop at the floor I know Grant is on. As I pound on the door, I’m praying to God he has one.
He opens the door looking pissed as fuck.
“What the fuck, man?” he whisper yells at me.
“I need a fucking condom.”
He shakes his head. “Seriously, man?”
“Do I look like I’m joking?”
He glances down, wincing when he sees my obvious hard-on.
“I don’t have any. Dude, I’ve been with Nessa for years. We haven’t used them in a long time. She’s on birth control.”
I run my hands through my hair. “Fuck, man. What the fuck am I supposed to do? The shops are closed. Fuck.”
“You could call your steward.”
“Because that wouldn’t be awkward at all,” I deadpan.
He shakes his head. “Hold on. Let me think.”
He mumbles under his breath a couple of minutes before heading back into the room, coming back with his keycard.
Then he walks several rooms down. When he looks back at me, he shakes his head again.
“You’re going to owe me for this.”
Then he pounds on the door.
I don’t see who is on the other side, but Grant barks at them, “I need a condom.”
The person must disappear inside because all I see is a hand slamming a whole sleeve of condoms to Grant’s chest.
“Thanks, bro.”
As he heads back toward me, the person peeks their head out to watch him go.
We both freeze when our eyes meet.
Fuck. It’s Barrett.
His eyes narrow as anger fills them. Then he moves back, slamming his door.
“Here. Now can I go back to sleep?”
I snort. “You should be fucking your woman.”
“I’ll leave the fucking to you, Casanova.”
“He’s going to cause shit tomorrow,” I say, nodding down the hall.
“You’re the one who wanted a condom so bad. None of the other guys use them with their women. Barrett’s the only other single guy on the trip besides you. Although you’re not so single anymore, huh?”
“Fuck off,” I snarl, but then I smile. “Thanks, man. I owe you.”
As I turn and run back toward my room, I hear Grant yell, “Yes, you do. And next time, wear a fucking shirt.”
I flip him off over my shoulder before taking the stairs down to our level. By the time I make it back to the room, I have to stop outside to catch my breath.
Finally ready, I open the door and make my way farther into the room.
I smile when I see her.
She asked me to rush, and I did, but I took too long.
My girl is lying on the bed under the blankets. She looks like she tried to wait, leaving the side lamp on, but she passed out.
Tossing the condoms on the nightstand, I flip off the light.
Sure, my balls ache, but I don’t want to wake her. She looks so peaceful sleeping.
So instead, I take off my pants and crawl into bed next to her. When I pull her naked body against mine, I smile as she presses closer.
Then I press a kiss to the back of her head.
“Good night, baby doll.”
