40. Cowboys Cry Too

CHAPTER 40

COWBOYS CRY TOO

Jace

S adie is holding my hand as we climb the hiking trail.

It’s been three days since her heat had ended. A week since we bonded her as our omega. Her bond marks look even prettier in the sunshine than they did on her sweaty heat skin.

She had snuck out of Paxton’s room early this morning after making love to him all night, something that we all heard her do and couldn’t be mad about because of the way she sounded. How could we be mad when she was happy?

So waking up to her cracking my door open, smelling fresh from the shower and crawling into bed asking if I wanted to go have breakfast and a hike with her had my heart beating and me rushing to get ready.

Now we had sandwiches packed and coffee in a thermos as we made our way, hand in hand, through the darkness to watch the sunrise in the woods.

“I love that this is our thing,” Sadie comments as we finally get to the clearing with the rocks.

I love it too.

She lets go of me as she rushes forward, putting down the bag she packed to spread out a blanket and starting to unpack the picnic that we have. Her eyes go to me as she smiles, so sure of herself as she motions me closer to where she is.

And I have to kiss her. No choice in the matter.

I love how Sadie smiles when she kisses. How she presses our lips together and holds me there with soft murmurs of appreciation as we kiss, slow, and languid. Moving until she is laying under me and only stopping when the sun starts to bathe the world in its soft orange glow.

Rolling so I’m laying down as she rests her head on my chest, letting me run my fingers through her hair as she sighs. We stayed there together in the quiet morning appreciating the view. But I’m staring more at her instead of the sunrise.

Sometimes I think about how lucky we got to be at the right place to catch Sadie. Yes, we may have run into her at another time but the fact we had all been together when we first found our omega felt special. It made it seem like it was our fate.

Her eyes turn, looking up at me like she can feel my staring at her. Sometimes she catches us looking at her and rolls her eyes like the brat she is. But her cheeks color and we all know that she secretly likes the attention.

“Jace,” Her eyes are so blue that I could get lost in them without a second thought, “I love you.” I blink, unsure if I heard her correctly. Feeling frozen by her words because I can’t believe that I’m hearing them.

“Darlin’, I-”

“Wait,” She interrupts me, “I love you but I want you to know I love Paxton, Cameron and Anthony too. I love you all and I need to know that it’s okay with you.” She is trying to have this serious conversation with me like it changes anything if she loves my pack.

It’s cute, she's so concerned.

Especially after we all just spent her heat together and bonded her as our omega. Of course we love her and want her. But Sadie needs the verbal confirmation so she doesn’t feel like there are any questions from us.

If anything it makes me love her more knowing that she has their back too. That she will protect them just like I will. That the love she holds for all of us is special enough to her that she needs to declare it out loud.

“Sadie girl, I’m crazy in love with you.” Her smile makes me need to kiss her again. I feel like that a lot with her. She presses her lips to mine before I can get to her. Kissing me with her sweet smilestill on her beautiful face.

When I saved her from falling down the stairs I hadn't expected to fall in love with her but now, I can’t even imagine a life without her.

She is everything to me. She completed our pack and gave us a deeper bond. We make time for each other again. Come home and make sure we eat dinner together and talk about our day. Gone are the days of getting toilet paper text messages and now we have two group chats. One for us and our omega and one for just us guys where we pretty much talk about our omega.

Sadie is a gift in so many ways. She talks about how she is broken but really she fixes so much by just being her. Perfection isn’t real. Life is a bunch of broken moments held together by the glue of the good moments. With Sadie, it feels like we’re going to have a surplus of glue.

Having the time on my family's ranch, seeing her so happy when she learned how to ride a horse or when she was stargazing in the truck or when her and Ant acted like fools swimming in the creek buck naked. It just made me want that more. I want the vacations together and the moments with her that feel like magic.

“I haven’t told Ant yet. He’s going to be so pissed he’s last but I know he loves me. As dumb as that is. He is so up front about his feelings with me and I wanted to wait until last for him so he doesn’t feel like he has to help me tell everyone else.” She explains it and it makes sense.

Ant always seems to be in it for a good time but it’s clear that the way he and Sadie are together is special. I’m not jealous of it because she just told me she loves me and I believe it. I know what we share and I’m not jealous of it.

“Do you have a plan?” She smiles and nods her head.

“I rented his dream car and I’m taking him out on a date tonight. Ant is so smooth all the time I want to give it back to him and treat him. I even got us a hotel room.” She looks so happy about it.

Happy with her pack. With all of us.

I love that she wants Ant to feel special because she is right. He always gives so much but no girl has ever gone all out like this for our friend. He deserves the love she is giving him and I love that she’s a part of our lives.

“You’re so good to us, Sadie.” She sits up, pulling me with her, smiling at me as she shrugs her shoulders like it’s not a huge gift to be loved by her.

“Cam said he wants to have kids,” She looks at me as I pause, my eyes going down and imagining a baby in her stomach, “Doyou want to put a baby in me too?” My heart hammers as I nod my head at her words. The mental picture of Sadie, round with our baby going right to my cock “Why don’t we start to practice?”

She grinds against me and my heart speeds up, thinking of the last hike we had together. Clearly this one is going to end a lot differently than me jerking off.

Seems like this time I was coming in her bush.
