Chapter 34

EMME

My morning was spent between three alphas, each of whom had their preferred method of destroying me.

Kellan slid his golden dick into my mouth, Hunter claimed my ass, and Finley stepped in as a real team player.

Our Grouchy Bear showed no hesitation about sharing me with Hunter during some mind-blowing double penetration.

The three of them worked so seamlessly, it was hard to believe they’d never done this as a pack before.

Despite their intimidating sizes, I enjoyed every second of being shared, and my shifter healing had ramped up so that by the time Hunter hauled me into the shower, there wasn’t a single lingering ache.

Just shaky knees and trembling muscles as I dealt with the aftermath of pleasure overload.

Under the stream of water, Hunter held me, like he’d done so many times in the past. This was our place of quiet, where we found peace and healing.

I leaned against his chest, just soaking it all in.

In our bond, his wolf pressed against mine as well, and I was filled with the sense of safety that was uniquely Hunter. Partly due to him being my entitled alpha, but mostly because he was, at his core, a true protector.

Our comfortable silence remained as he reached for the body wash and thoroughly covered every inch of my skin.

His gentle touch worshipped my body in a different way to sex, and I craved the feeling of his hands on me.

When he washed and conditioned my hair, his strong fingers dug into my scalp, and I groaned at how good the head massage felt.

I couldn’t help myself, even knowing how that sound sent them feral.

The fact that he’d literally just fucked me until we both came hard enough to see stars wouldn’t change his reaction either. Sure enough, as that breathy sound escaped me, he slid soapy hands down to wrap around my thighs, and in a flash I was pressed against the tiles.

His hard length notched at my entrance, bringing forth more moans. “Are you sore, baby girl?” he asked in a softly dangerous tone, the gold in his eyes bright.

My response was to arch my hips and thrust myself onto the head of his cock.

Hunter’s grip on me tightened, and then he pressed inside of me, his pace measured.

My entitled alpha moved slowly, and all the while his lips locked with mine in deep, drugging kisses.

This was the purest definition of lovemaking, and my heart clenched at the sensation of him surrounding me.

I fought the impending orgasm, my climaxes too quick at times.

All I wanted was to drag out this moment and enjoy every second of pleasure.

Even slow, there was a maddening rhythm to his thrusts, as he pulled all the way out, and then plunged so deeply that I could feel him through every inch of my core.

“Hunter,” I gasped as my body pulsated. “Alpha, please.”

The gold exploded through his irises, and his pace picked up as he drove into me, shattering me into a release so intense my entire body tensed around him.

“Holy fuck,” I groaned, my lungs aching as I only managed a few random breaths of air. “That was…”

Hunter rumbled out my name when he came, burying his face against my throat, teeth scraping over his bite. The pleasure increased until I was sure I would black out.

It took a long time for our pulses to stop racing, and then the cleaning process started all over again. Somehow, I made it through the second time without getting railed against a wall, and I wasn’t sure if I was disappointed by that or not.

“I’ve got to head into the office for a few hours,” Hunter informed me when we were in his wardrobe. He was already dressed in a dark suit, and I was drooling over how fucking good he looked.

Meanwhile, I was in my usual uniform of sweatpants and hoodie, damp strands of hair hanging down my back.

“But I’ll see you this afternoon,” he continued. “Constantine thinks he’ll have some real answers soon.”

“Stay safe out there,” I said to him, pushing up on my toes for another kiss.

He brushed back the tangled strands of my hair. “You stay safe here,” he ordered, his brow furrowing as he looked me over. “I’ll be keeping an eye on you of course.”

I smirked. “It’s lucky I enjoy being stalked.”

His shrug was effortless. “You say stalking, I say observing without your knowledge.”

A scoff ripped from me as I narrowed my eyes on him. “That’s the same damn thing.”

Hunter’s smirk was pretty enough that I almost forgot his arrogant ways.

When we made it downstairs to the kitchen, he grabbed his to-go coffee, and with one last panty-melting kiss, he left for the office. The rest of my pack were seated at the kitchen counter, breakfast sandwiches in front of them, and there was a plate waiting for me beside my coffee and juice.

Florence bustled over, patting me on the cheek as she directed me to a chair. “We heard you coming down the stairs. Everything is still toasty and warm. I also have pancakes.”

“Thank you, Flo,” I said, my stomach rumbling at the delicious scents in this room.

Slade and Talon wore very similar half-smiles as they watched me, the slight pull from Talon’s scar their only difference.

“That wasn’t all we heard from upstairs,” Slade added to Florence’s statement as he took a sip of tea.

Our beasts were close enough in the bond that I knew everyone was aware of my morning activities and none of them had an issue with it. We were a pack, and as the heart of this quintet, I would be with all of them.

In truth, we’d adapted surprisingly well considering how new it all was.

Would there be teething issues down the road? Most likely, but I wasn’t going to worry about them before they arrived.

“You should have joined in,” I said with a cheeky smile, before I pushed up from the counter to press a good morning kiss to Slade’s cheek.

The dragon shot me a heated stare, and not only did he not flinch from my contact, he reached out and captured my face to pull me in for a longer, more intense kiss. He pulled away and I was met with Talon, who stood right behind his brother.

“Morning, Honey,” he said, leaning down for a gentler but no less powerful kiss.

Both dragons were forces of nature shifting the very atmosphere of the space around them every single time we touched.

“I like the shortened version of my nickname,” I said as I sat again in my spot, reaching for the plate of sandwiches and pancakes. There was no more time for conversation as I focused on eating through the deliciousness.

Slade huffed out a smoky grunt. “It’s good to see you finally eating like a shifter. A wolf should never pick at food like a baby bird.”

His observations were correct, but for most of my life food was scarce.

I still wasn’t sure I’d ever grow used to the abundance this pack had.

“This is the first time in my life that there’s more than enough food available.

But my wolf has adjusted quickly, and you should all know that I’m spoiled now.

I can’t go back to rations, so you’d better stay rich. ”

I laughed so they’d know it was a joke; money was the last reason to be in this pack. It wasn’t even on the damn list.

To my relief, all of them laughed too, including Florence. “I second you staying rich,” she chimed in, hands on her hips. “I enjoy this job too much to give it up, and you pay better than everybody in Golden Claw.”

Slade’s eyes were light, which was a good sign he was amused. “Both of you are safe. We have more money than even Kellan can spend, and he has expensive habits.”

Kellan scoffed through his chuckles. “Says the dragon who custom-made his Lambo to the sweet tune of three million.”

I choked on a bite of sandwich, and Slade clapped me hard on the back to bring it up. “Wait,” I managed to say. “Did you say three million dollars for a Lamborghini?”

SVJs were expensive, of course, and Slade’s was bigger than usual with other customizations. But three fucking million…

I waited for him to deny it, but clearly that wasn’t going to happen. “I’m fairly sure I made that much by mid-day on the morning it arrived.”

Talon and I exchanged a glance, and he just shrugged as if to say rich people are weird.

True story.

I’d never asked them how much money they made, and even though I had a sleeve of credit cards to use, I found I rarely needed them. They provided everything I needed and wanted. Most of the time before I even knew I wanted it.

Talon sipped his tea as he asked, “How much money do you all have?”

The dragon was perched on his stool in borrowed clothing, without a phone or possession to his name. He legitimately cost zero dollars outside of the food he ate.

If there was a shifter here who cared less about money than me, it was him.

Finley shrugged. “Kel and I make about five million a year each from hockey, plus playoff bonuses. Hunter and Slade make about five hundred million a year from the company. Same same.”

Kellan cracked up. “I really thought I was going to have big boy money when I got drafted into the NSHL. Then these fuckers came along and reminded me that it’s just spare change.”

“We have,” Slade said suddenly, and Talon gave his twin his full focus. “You said How much money do you all have? but it’s we. It’s yours and Emme’s money too. Pack money.”

I leaned over him to high five Talon. “Look at us go. Overnight billionaires.”

Talon shook his head as he tapped his hand to mine, the smallest of smiles playing around his lips. I lowered my voice and added, “If you joke about it, it doesn’t feel as real and overwhelming.”

Finley leaned back against the bench, his expression thoughtful. “I didn’t grow up rich, so I think I’d adjust fine if we lost all our money.”

“I’d miss affording tech,” Slade said, steepling his hands in front of him in his classic thinking pose.

“And I’d miss our house and compound. It’s comfortable here with plenty of space and a nice yard.

My beast enjoys swimming too, so I’d miss the pool.

But as long as I had this pack, I could live in a cave.

I’d figure out how to outfit it with Wi-Fi. ”

This pack had been used to power, dominance, and control long before they were rich. If they lost it all, they’d be okay, and I’d be right by their side.

After breakfast Slade and Talon headed out to train. I had training later too, along with a possible session of magic with Constantine. Depending on his progress with the blood-tracing spell.

Until then, I explored the house with Kellan and Finley, suggesting options to fill the time. “Gym? Pool? What about a sauna? Maybe we should watch a movie?” I hadn’t been back in the theatre since that fateful first meeting with Finley.

The bear caught my eye, as if he remembered as well. “I need to do something physical. Maybe we can work on your car?”

Kellan bounced on the spot. “I have no idea what to do with an engine other than stare at it, but I’ll be excellent moral support.”

I was about to agree when a thought came to me. Finley immediately noticed my hesitation. “Did you have another idea of what we could do instead?”

“You didn’t hear my thought?” The more I embraced my magic, the stronger I felt I was getting at blocking what I didn’t want to be heard.

“Nope,” Kellan said. “We can see your beast in the center of us all, but it’s quiet in there. We can’t even really communicate with each other unless you loosen your hold.”

I hadn’t realized I was controlling them that much, and I decided to ease up a fraction.

Finley pressed in closer. “What idea did you have for us to do today, darlin’?”

“I’d like to get my tattoo.”

His flash of excitement had the broody bear looking almost as cheerful as Golden. “Fuck yes! I’ve been waiting a long time to get my hands on you and mark my mate.”

“Again,” I reminded him, laughing at his little bounce of enthusiasm.

Kellan clapped his hands together. “Yes! Can I get mine too? I want that last image you drew of my pretty girl in her wolf form. All majestic and mysterious under the full moon.”

Finley pressed a hand to his brother’s shoulder. “Depending on how fast I work, I should be able to get yours and Emme’s done today.” His expression sobered as he looked my way. “Fair warning, this is going to be painful. The magic required to cut through shifter healing takes its toll.”

I already knew magic was involved, and there was a flash of annoyance that we had to rely on witches for anything. Not that I would let it stop me. “Yeah, I can handle it.”

Whatever it took to wear our quintet on my skin—as more than bites.

Finley all but swept me off my feet and up the stairs, with Kellan right behind us.

In the bear’s room, I was set on the bed while he spent fifteen minutes cleaning up his station, spraying everything down, and pulling out his art and the tattooing gear.

Kellan’s design was finalized, but Finley had some new sketches to show me. I flicked between them all, loving so many, which made it a hard choice. There were some with us in our full beast forms, others with our human faces, but I was set on this being about quintet essences.

He hesitated just long enough before he handed over the last sketch, for me to know this was his favorite. It immediately became mine as well.

“This is the one,” I whispered, clutching it so tightly my knuckles were almost as white as the paper itself.

He’d drawn five beast heads, with the dragons represented as a single entity, all together in a quintet bond.

Fire and flames formed around us, and I could feel the magic and love in the one image.

My pack.
