Chapter Seven

Kai

Jeez, what is wrong with him?

At first Kai got nervous and scared when he realized his boss was in his favorite place but that quickly got replaced with annoyance at Marco’s over-the-top statement.

"I don't have a Daddy," Kai grumbled and crossed his arms. For some reason Marco seemed to relax and look pleased. "Even if I did, he couldn't make me wear something I don't want to wear."

"Oh, really? I bet he could," Marco looked very pleased with himself and sent Kai a crooked smile that made his heart skip a beat.

God, he's so handsome... ah, what am I thinking! Annoyed, focus on annoyance.

"With how cold it is currently, that's a safety issue and any Daddy worth his salt wouldn't ever allow his Little to break a safety rule.

" Marco announced. Kai just sat there with his mouth opening and closing, at a loss for words.

"I… what… what are you doing here?" There, that was easier than Marco acting all protective and growly.

Kai didn't know what to do or how to react to that.

"I'm a member of this club," Marco shuffled his feet and looked around the interior.

"You're a Daddy?" Kai shouldn’t have been surprised, Marco had all but stated that fact with his tirade.

Please say yes... no, say no.

Kai shook his head, trying to dispel his confusing thoughts. What did it matter to him that Marco was a Daddy? He was Kai's boss. It was out of bounds. Forbidden. Inappropriate.

"I am a Daddy... I know you're a Little. Have for a while." Marco said.

"What? How? I hide it at work!" Marco laughed and Kai blushed at the deep sound.

"You do, you hide it very well. I've always had good instincts and they told me that... that you were a Little." Kai frowned because he was sure that Marco was going to say a different word.

"I'd ask if that would be a problem but..."

"But, I'm a Daddy myself and that would make me a bit of a hypocrite. It doesn't matter to me, Kai. You do very good work, this won't affect your job at all." Kai nodded and smiled, his worry fading.

"Are you..." Kai bit his lip to stop himself from asking if Marco was here with anyone.

"Am I what?" Marco just raised his eyebrows and waited.

"Do you have a Little girl?" Or boy? Kai couldn't ask that though, it would be too much to know his boss was gay or bi since Kai couldn't have him either way.

"I don't have a Little boy. I'm not into girls, never have been.

I should leave you to your reading. I need to talk to some friends.

It was nice seeing you again, Kai. Next time come with a thicker shirt and a winter jacket.

It's too cold for Little boys to be out without the proper clothes.

" Marco walked away and Kai collapsed into the bean bag chair.

Boys... he likes boys... dammit.

This changed things.

No. It didn't. It changed nothing, Kai didn't need the drama of another relationship.

Especially if that was with his boss. Best forget about it.

Kai grabbed his favorite picture book and tried to forget about Marco and lose himself in the book.

Twenty minutes later Penny bounced over and they joined Amy, Amelia, and Marshie to play with the Legos and the doll house.

Kai was acutely aware of Marco hanging out with his friends Daddies and that he was watching Kai.

His gorgeous dark eyes hadn't moved from where Kai was playing with his friends and it made Kai shiver with pleasure.

It felt like his Daddy was watching over him.

"Are you ready to go?" Penny asked and Kai looked up and nodded. He had an early shift anyway and maybe some space would help his scattered brain.

"Yep!" Kai forced a smile. He didn't want Penny to ask him if everything was okay or figure out Kai was crushing on his boss.

She might think it would be up to her to bring them together and meddle.

He loved his sister but she sure did think it was her duty to make sure all her friends were happy with anyone that tickled their fancy.

"Did you have fun?" Penny asked as they walked down the stairs and passed the dungeon. This time Ariel was out front and so was a frowning Levi. In fact neither of them looked very happy with the other and Ariel was straight up glaring at Liam.

"Everything alright?" Penny stopped and asked Ariel while frowning at Levi.

"What? Yes, everything is fine." Ariel said a bit grumpily.

"I'm trying to convince Ariel to let me drive her home." Levi explained.

"Oh, why don't you let him?" Kai asked. That didn't seem like an unreasonable ask.

"It's dark outside, don't you take the bus?" Penny asked as she put on her cardigan. Levi had retrieved it from the coat closet. Kai rolled his eyes again as Marco's words floated back to him. He’ll be fine, it wasn’t that cold and his car had heat.

"I'm fine," Ariel snapped at Penny, "I don't need a ride. I'm an adult, I don't need a ride home. I wish people would stop asking me if I need rides!" Kai blinked, surprised that Ariel snapped like that.

"Oh, right. Sorry, you're absolutely right.

Good night." Penny turned on her heel and Kai followed while grimacing.

That was the overly formal tone Penny used when someone annoyed her and she didn't want to snap back or be rude.

He wasn't sure why Ariel reacted as she did for just having a ride offer but he'd find out later.

"Are you okay?" Kai asked as they walked down the concrete walkway. At some point the outdoor lights that lined the path had turned on and they shone green and red in the darkness.

"I'm fine," Penny said with a frown. "What about you? Amelia said you were talking to Marco?" Penny looked at him and raised her brows.

"Yeah... apparently he's a Daddy. Did you know?"

"I mean, I had thought so but I hadn't seen him in the club in all the time I've visited. Which doesn't mean anything, lots of people can be into the scene without going to a club. Or he’s going when I’m not there."

"He was angry that I came to the club in this outfit since it's so cold outside." Kai rolled his eyes but shivered at the cold wind.

Okay, it's much colder than it was when they got there.

"He might have had a point," Penny chuckled as they stopped at Kai's car.

"I know but I'm not going to tell him that. He was so overbearing..." and hot. Kai unlocked the door and slid in the drivers seat as Penny got in the passengers seat.

"Hmm, he's a very attractive man," Penny sent Kai a sly look and he shook his head.

"He's my boss, remember?"

"So? Who says you can't have some fun with your hot, Daddy boss? Oh! he could bend you over his desk and..."

"Stop! I don't need that visual!" Mostly because it wasn't the first time he'd thought about it. "I recently got out of a relationship. I don't need another one." Kai stopped at a stop sign and looked at his sister in exasperation. Penny just smiled widely.

"You like him," Penny said with a wide smile.

"He's a good boss, very efficient in the workplace and my coworkers seem to respect him." Kai hedged as he drove forward.

"No, you like him like him."

"Penny--" The interior of his car was lit up and before he could react Kai heard the screeching of metal, Penny screaming, pain and a hot wetness sliding down his side before his vision went black.

Marco

Marco sighed as he drove down the road.

He liked Kai. More than he should as a boss and employee. Seeing Kai today at the club forced him to recognize the truth.

What should he do now? He should bury his feelings right?

It was inappropriate for him to date one of his employees.

Everyone would think he was giving Kai special treatment.

But the thought of Kai sitting on the floor, wearing a cute little onesie, playing with his favorite toys; it made Marco want to hold Kai close.

There was also a healthy amount of lust mixed in with the sweet picture.

Kai's lips were plump and begging for Marco to slip his dick in between them.

Marco sighed as he adjusted in his seat.

He needed to get home so he could take a soak in his very large bath tub and think.

The car accident came out of nowhere. It was a very dark residential street and there were no streetlights, as he stopped at the stop sign his headlights lit up a silver Toyota that was diagonal in the intersection.

Its driver side was smashed and the passenger side door appeared to be open.

Marco was out of his seatbelt and was almost at the car when a familiar woman stumbled toward him and fell into his arms.

“Penny? What on earth? What happened?” Marco gripped her shoulders and in the dim light saw the blood covering half her face.

“Accident,” she gasped, “Car came out of nowhere, Kai isn’t answering me.”

“Kai is in the car?” Marco’s world tilted on its axis and he acted without thought. Letting go of Penny he rushed toward the drivers side and saw a slumped and bloodied Kai in the chair.

“Kai!” He tried the door but it was jammed. Kai didn’t move or make any indication that he could hear Marco. Penny had stumbled back over from his car and she was leaning against Kai’s car, sobbing.

Idiot! Think!

“Penny. Penny!” Marco felt bad for yelling but he needed to snap her out her shock, “Did you call an ambulance?”

“N-no, can’t find my phone, is Kai dead?”

“No, he’s not.” Marco grabbed Penny’s hand and ran for his car, stopping when she faltered to sweep her into his arms. He deposited her in the driver's seat then grabbed his phone from the holder on the dash.

“911, what is the address of your emergency?” a pleasant but direct voice said.

“I’m on the corner of Prescott street and 73rd avenue.

I came upon what appears to be a hit and run.

The passenger is shaken but appears to be fine.

She’s cognizant and walking around. The driver is passed out, chest appears to be going up and down.

There is a lot of blood from his head. I tried the door but it isn’t opening. Penny. Stay here, understand?”

“Yes.”

“Good girl.” Staying on the phone with the operator Marco ran over to the car and was able to get into the car through the passenger side door.

“The driver is definitely breathing and his pulse appears to be weak but there.”

“Thank you, sir for this information. Fire fighters and ambulance should be arriving on scene soon as well as the police.”

“I hear them now, thank you.” Marco hung up his phone and caressed Kai’s face gently.

“It’s okay, baby boy. Help is coming,” he whispered before he got out to meet the ambulance and firefighters.

He stood with a sobbing Penny as they pulled Kai from the car, making sure there weren't any life threatening injuries. Marco had his arms around Penny and she’d stopped sobbing but was staring with blank expression.

“Come on, I’ll take you to the hospital.

” Penny had already refused the paramedics but Marco was intending to see if Vince was working to see if he could look at Penny.

One of the paramedics had cleaned her head and saw a small cut but Marco wanted to make sure she was okay.

He owed it to Kai to take care of his sister.

Penny didn’t say much, just nodded. Marco gently took her elbow and maneuvered her to the passenger side of his car.

“Marco!” Turning Marco saw Barry coming over. He was a police officer that frequently went to The Play Spot. Marco hadn’t gone regularly but he always saw Barry there any time he went.

“Officer Barry…” Penny’s voice was stronger this time and Marco smiled down at her.

“I’m taking Penny to St. Vincent’s to check on Kai.”

“Good, Vince is working. I’ll escort you and take your statements at the hospital.”
