To Love Again #2
“Lately what?” Robbie’s caring gaze fell upon me.
I almost blurted out how alone it was without him. “Nothing.”
He frowned, then glanced at our apartment building. “What floor do you live on?”
I closed the space between us, eager to feel his warmth, then pointed to our apartment. “That one on the tenth floor.”
A glint passed through his eyes, and I wondered…
“I feel like I’ve been here before.”
He remembers.
My pulse spiked, and a gasp escaped me. Then an alert came from my phone.
I grunted at my watch. “I wish I could invite you in, but my shift starts in half an hour.”
His eyes widened before he raised an eyebrow. “You have a second job?”
“I work at a club down the street.” I pocketed my hands. “It’s temporary. I have some bills to take care of.” I couldn’t tell him about his medical bills and the debt that had accumulated before his parents took over. But what could I make up?
What if…?
I kicked the sidewalk. “You see, I had someone, but nine months ago, I lost him. Things have been difficult.”
And it has been the hardest time of my life.
“You…lost him?” His voice was terse, almost angry.
I shook my head. “He did nothing wrong. It’s just how life is.”
Cruel. A life that stole you from me.
The mood changed drastically, erasing the laughter and ease of the rest of the evening.
Why couldn’t we go back to how it was? Why did he have to forget?
I brushed his arm. “Do you want to come to the bar, or should I call an Uber?” God, I wanted to hold him.
It was late, and from what I found out yesterday, he lived in Guaynabo. I’d go with him, but I didn’t have the luxury to take the night off. I was drowning in debt.
“How did you…?” Robbie touched the base of his neck, his eyebrows squished together.
I treaded carefully. “Oh, sorry. I thought you needed a ride since I never see you around the neighborhood, only at the coffee bar.”
“Oh.” His voice dropped.
“So…will you watch me do some magic at the bar, or do I get a rain check?” I wanted him to stay so bad, but I wouldn’t push it.
He gave me a half smile. “A rain check sounds good.”
I ordered an Uber for him, then stepped into his space.
I trailed my hand down his arm and held his hand.
I hesitated for a bit, but when he didn’t pull away, I interlaced my fingers through his.
His hand was so small against mine, and his grip was so soft that I couldn’t help but feel the need to protect him. Cherish him.
“We can meet tomorrow or the day after.” I touched my brow to his. “I want to get to know you better.”
The night had been so amazing that I couldn’t help it. I needed him.
He pressed his other hand to my chest.
I shuddered beneath his touch. He moved it down my abdomen, and I hardened immediately. This was the Robbie I knew. Blunt. Sure of what he wanted.
“I want that too, but I can’t tomorrow. My parents visit on Fridays,” he said sultrily. His eyes were full of desire.
I stiffened at the mention of his parents but quickly composed myself.
I wouldn’t let their memory soil this moment.
I caught a strand of his hair, entwining it around my index finger.
“So it’s settled. We’ll meet on Saturday.
” I grabbed his nape and pulled him to me, letting my desire burst free.
“Can I kiss you?” My whole body burned with need.
“Please.” It was a plea like so many times when he asked me to fuck him. One I wouldn’t deny for the world.
I smiled and closed the gap between us.
The moment our lips touched, my nerves fired, and my soul was consumed by lust. I took control of the kiss, and his body softened beneath me. There was nothing like this, no better feeling than him giving up his control and letting me take over.
I gripped his hip and held him closer, leaving no space between us. He was as hard as me, and I slid the tip of my tongue across his lips, tasting his sweetness.
When our tongues clashed, my whole body ignited.
Robbie put his hands behind my neck.
I groaned and deepened the kiss, taking his surrender.
I broke the kiss, knowing if I kept this up, I’d fuck him right here on the street, to hell if anyone saw us.
I traced Robbie’s ravaged lips with my thumb. He was panting, but his eyes glittered. It was as if he had… No, it couldn’t be.
“Saturday?” I asked.
Robbie nodded. “Saturday.” He caressed my face, his touch soft.
I leaned into it, and then he stood on his tiptoes and kissed me.
The kiss was slow. His mouth warm. A tenderness that carried so much more. When he let go, his eyes shone with tears. But his smile, it was something else.
Could he have remembered?
The Uber arrived just as Robbie stepped away.
He licked his lips. “I can’t wait for Saturday.”
I couldn’t resist and hugged him, letting all my love flow through my embrace.
He returned it, his arms tight around me, then moved away and entered the car. “Thank you for a night I’ll never forget.”
I closed the door and waved goodbye. I was floating with glee. My whole body lit up, and the time I had to wait was nothing compared to this moment.
I went to my apartment to shower and change.
The sensation of his skin against mine lingered, sparking a fire that refused to fade. I went into the shower and stroked myself, thinking of his soft body beneath me. Of thrusting my cock hard and deep within him. Of him begging me to come inside him.
And I did, gasping for air as the water turned cold.
As I changed into my bartender clothes, I grunted.
Waiting till Saturday would be torture.
