"Wyatt, are you sure you want to do this?" she asked. "This will be completely life-changin'."
I looked up at her, my heart swelling with love and determination. "I've never been more sure about anything in my life, grandma," I said, my voice firm and sure.
Grandma smiled and nodded, her eyes sparkling with tears. I turned back to the jeweler, who was watching us with a warm smile.
"I'll take it!" I said, my voice echoing through the store.
The jeweler's face lit up. "Perfect choice!" he exclaimed, satisfied.
I grinned, feeling like the luckiest man alive. I knew that this ring was gonna change my life forever, and I was ready for it. I was ready to spend the rest of my life with the love of my life, and I knew that this ring was the perfect symbol of my love.

I glanced down at the crutches propped against the wall, feeling a mix of determination and anxiety. I had no clue how to maneuver them, but I was gonna figure it out.
Wyatt had been my rock during this whole thing.
He helped me eat, he helped me to the bathroom, and even when I needed a hand with getting dressed.
Every moment he was there for me, showering me with his love and support.
I couldn't have asked for a better partner.
Just thinking about it filled my chest with warmth.
"Milia, are you ready to go?" Wyatt called from the other side of the door.
"Y-yeah, just give me a minute!" I shouted back, trying to pull my pants on by myself. But man, it was tougher than it looked. I was determined, though. I wanted to do this on my own, even if failed miserably.
Just as I was getting frustrated, I felt myself start to tip. "Oh no!" I screamed, and before I knew it, I was on the floor.
"Milia! What the hell are you doing?" Wyatt burst through the door, his eyes wide with concern.
"I was just trying to put my pants on by myself," I managed to say, a bit embarrassed.
"You don't like my help?" he asked, crossing his arms as he leaned against the door frame.
"No, it's not that, baby," I said, looking up at him. "But I feel bad for making you do everything."
Wyatt knelt down beside me, his hands gentle as he helped pull my pants up and buttoned them. "I don't mind at all. I'd rather help you than you hurt yourself. Milia, you know you gotta be careful."
I sighed, feeling a wave of guilt wash over me. "Okay, I'm sorry."
He smiled softly, his green eyes sparkling with warmth. "Now come on, let's get you home."
As we stepped out of the hospital, he kissed my forehead, and I couldn't help but smile.
When we pulled up to my house, I noticed a few cars parked outside. "Awww Wyatt, you're throwing me a welcome home party?" I asked, my heart racing with excitement.
"Somethin' like that," he chuckled, and I could help but wonder what he meant by that.
I watched as he opened my door and helped me out, grabbing my crutches. "You got it?" he asked.
"Yep!"
Together, we walked towards the front door, and I couldn't shake the feeling of joy bubbling inside me. "It's so nice knowing I'm walking right into my surprise welcome home party," I said, grinning.
Wyatt opened the door for me, but as I stepped inside, my words caught in my throat.
The sight before me took my breath away.
My family, my friends, and even Wyatt's family were all gathered around with phones out, recording the moment.
Balloons and pink roses were scattered across the floor, forming a beautiful pathway that led to a corner of the room.
"Milia, keep walkin'," Wyatt urged gently, nudging me forward.
"What the hell did you do, Wyatt?" I muttered, still in shock as I followed the path.
As I approached the corner, my heart stopped. There, in soft candlelight, were the words "Marry Me" spelled out in a heart. I felt tears welling in my eyes, and I almost stumbled again. Thankfully, Wyatt was right there, catching me. "Woah there," he said, steadying me.
I gazed into his eyes, and in that moment, everything else faded away. He lifted me back up, taking one of my crutches away while Sienna rushed over to grab it.
Finding my balance on my unbroken leg, I stood there, heart racing as Wyatt took my hand. "Milia Amara Zorell... once known as the nurse I chased after," he began, his voice filled with emotion.
I couldn't help but giggle, tears spilling over. " "Is that so?" I teased, my heart swelling with warmth.
Wyatt nodded, his gaze never leaving mine. "I still remember the first day I met you, Milia. I saw you standin' there in those scrubs, with your hair in that perfect braided bun, and gosh, I knew... I had to have you." His words wrapped made my heart flutter, making me feel cherished and adored.
"Is that so?" I repeated, my smile growing wider, feeling a rush of affection for him.
"Milia," he continued, his voice growing serious, "almost losing you made me realize that I don't want to spend another second without you." My heart fluttered at his confession, the weight of his words sinking in deep.
"I love you so much, and I need you, baby. I need you forever, so..." he paused, dropping to one knee. My breath hitched, and a rush of emotions crashed over me.
"Milia Zorell... would you please do me the honor and be my wife?"
I felt the world spin around me; everything else faded away until it was just the two of us, his hopeful gaze locked onto mine. My heart raced, and tears flowed down my cheeks. "Yes!" I exclaimed, my voice barely above a whisper. "Yes, Wyatt! Of course I will!"
His face broke out into the biggest grin, and he slipped the ring onto my finger, its brightness shining in the soft light. He stood up, pulling me into his arms, and I melted against him, feeling safe and loved.
He kissed me then, a sweet, lingering kiss. I hugged him tight, feeling the warmth radiate from him, and all around us, the room erupted in cheers and applause.
"My best friend is getting married!" Sienna shouted.
I pulled back from Wyatt just enough to look at everyone, my heart swelling with happiness as I took in the smiling faces of my family and friends, the decorations, the roses, the love surrounding us.
It was perfect.
All so perfect.
