Chapter 5 #2
His dark eyes left hers as he moved them slowly to take in her small personal space.
He eyed the paper plate with cut up half-eaten watermelon and frowned.
His attention went over every detail down to the clean counters of her small kitchen area to the neatly folded throw blanket on top of her small couch that just fit her.
She must love the color purple… Luca thought.
He took in her world like he intended to understand it.
La’Nova’s fingers curled at her sides. Her heartbeat was loud, heavy in her ears.
Luca looked like a completely different man dominating her camper right now.
His Caesar cut and deep waves with his beard effortlessly connected to his sideburns, making her feel weak in the knees.
La’Nova had to admit to herself this man looked sexy as hell without the matted down dreads.
Luca was the type of man that females instantly melted for.
She imagined them ignoring the fact that he looked like a walking red flag.
He was the type of man that didn’t have to brag or even say a word.
You could just take one look at him and know that he had it going on in every department attached to him.
She couldn’t take her eyes off of him; she studied every crease and tattoo down to the backwards moon on the side of his left eye. On the opposite side was an eagle with the name Dontrell written in perfect cursive writing.
How the hell can I say no? She asked herself randomly.
Luca looked like a walking fantasy; she imagined how rock hard his abs had to be since he spent so many years in prison. Her eyes fell down to the thick bulge in his pants. His meat laid limp and thick on his thigh.
“A wet walkin’ dream…” she uttered underneath her breath, not caring if he heard her.
This man knows he’s fine as hell… She half shook her head, closing her eyes before opening them.
She shook her head again and looked away from Luca’s intense stare down.
Luca had to know the affect he had on her, there was no point in trying to mask the shit.
La’Nova’s boldness never ceased to amaze her.
At times she knew she said and did too much, but life was short, and she didn’t plan on living the rest of her days not speaking her mind.
“Well.” La’Nova shrugged her shoulders to ease her nerves. “You just walked into my house and didn’t speak.” She cleared her throat and shifted all of her weight to her left leg.
This ain’t even a house…he probably thinks I’m crazy as fuck.
She inwardly cringed at her own choice of words.
Correcting her posture, crossing her arms over her breasts, she continued to eye Luca, waiting impatiently for him to say something.
She never stood in front of a person who hardly offered any words.
For a random occasion of him just popping up into her personal space, she felt entitled to hear his voice.
Luca remained quiet, his gaze dropped down to her breasts. He took note of how her nipples were pointed downward, resting comfortably on top of the swell of her belly. He saw the fullness of them and licked his lips at how raw and natural looking she was.
His eyes dropped lower to each dimple in her thigh, the stretch marks that striped the sides of her upper thigh like a tiger.
Her thighs were so meaty, stomach resting on top of what he could only assume to be a fat mound of pussy.
He couldn’t find not one trace of imperfection on La’Nova, not even her face.
He wanted to make her smile just so he could see if her chubby round cheeks had dimples, which would have been the cherry on top of her authentic beauty.
Luca knew since he was young that a picture-perfect thin woman would never fulfill him.
He could acknowledge the beauty in every woman, being that he was far from shallow.
He could see the beauty in the midst of someone’s chaos.
Beauty was the first word that came to his mind when he stared at La’Nova.
To him, her presence was heavier than her weight.
It was something about a woman with a full stomach, big arms, and thighs to match.
A woman being thick as grits everywhere just felt more real to him.
La’Nova’s curves were talking to him more than the words that came out of his mouth.
The confidence in the way that she spoke and eyed him disarmed him of the extreme titles people placed over his head.
He licked his lips as he eyed her double stomach.
It was a crease right where her belly button resided.
The kind of double stomach that was trained from wearing jeans to tight that crossed over the belly button area.
The top and the bottom of her stomach was something that he would soon grip and pull on.
He imagined her on her back, titties touching her chin while he massaged each part of her stomach as he deep stroked her.
“You’re a total mute… I don’t speak sign language, and you proved that you could speak when I saw you a week ago. So, since you here…you should talk…well whisper since that’s what you seem to do,” La’Nova spoke again, cutting right into Luca’s thoughts.
Luca’s eyes lifted from her thighs back to her face.
He raised his teacup to his lips and took a big sip.
This was very different for him. A woman or just anyone urging him to talk.
Nobody ever demanded for him to say a word.
If anyone needed to converse with Luca and they weren’t considered close enough, they all went through Roy.
People in Luca’s circle learned his language and respected it.
Luca was willing to exercise his voice box a little just to appease her. It felt like La’Nova had challenged him to talk, and since he craved her, he took a couple more sips of the hot tea before speaking.
“Hot…lemon ginger tea,” he whispered.
The sound of his raspy whisper hit her harder than him walking into her camper had.
Luca’s voice sounded like it was scarred but controlled.
The way his facial features tightened when he spoke, told her that it pained him to utter words.
She felt drawn in to him, wanting to ask him all sorts of questions, starting with the scar on his throat.
Being the stubborn and blunt woman that she was, she pushed those curious questions to the back of her mind and focused on trying to get him the hell out of her space.
“I didn’t ask what you were drinking. I assume it soothes whatever damage done to your throat.” She rolled her eyes and walked the short distance to her bed where her pack of cigarettes laid.
The entire short walk there, Luca’s eyes remained glued to her curvy backside. La’Nova scooted backwards on her full-size bed and opened up the small window before she lit her cigarette. She eyed Luca as his eyes scanned over her thighs.
Yeah, I gotta get him gone… Just him standing in front of me is turning me on…
“Look, Mr. Bonetti…” She started inhaling then swallowing down the smoke to ease her nerves and give her the courage that left her since he entered.
“I’m not the woman for you. Serenity…” She paused and swallowed down sharply.
“She’s more your speed. I used to fuck your brother a while back… ” Her words trailed off.
She clamped her mouth shut when she took note of how dark Luca’s eyes grew. Suddenly she wanted to become mute just like him. Bringing Kentrell up was done on purpose. It was meant to deter him from wanting to even pursue her in the first place, but now she felt as if she didn’t think that through.
Luca took measured steps toward her bed.
He sat at an angle to be able to look La’Nova in the eyes.
He waved his hand for her to continue speaking.
It looked like he was daring her to finish her disrespectful sentence, so La’Nova remained quiet.
Her eyes drifted over to her lavender pillow that had her small piece of steel underneath.
She wondered how quick she could get to it without him snatching her up.
Luca followed her gaze, and before she could act on her impulsive thoughts, he reached over and snatched the pillow up, tossing it toward her then grabbed the gun. He set it down next to his foot then focused back on La’Nova as he took another sip of his tea.
La’Nova chuckled. She cocked her head to the side and eyed Luca like he lost his mind.
“Well, I’ll be damned… you quick as fuck. Lord knows what I would have done to you with my baby deuce deuce,” she muttered under her breath, but loud enough for him to hear her.
He enjoyed the entertainment that she was providing.
The smell of her arousal drifted up his nose as she shifted her thighs every couple of seconds.
Beyond the smell of her cigarette smoke, he could smell her soft sweet creamy scent of vanilla.
He understood that he was close enough for her to feel the heat of him, and if she behaved properly tonight, he would relieve her of everything, down to whatever struggles she kept bundled up and tucked away.
La’Nova was going to be a challenge that Luca had already accepted. He was positive that she would soon submit and follow his lead. In time she would unfold like a Moonflower. Her secrets would be his to keep.
For a moment, the tension in the air was thick enough to slice through.
Neither of them moved, each gauging the other's next step, a silent battle of willpower hanging between them. La’Nova’s fingers twitched, betraying her nerves, but she refused to let her expression falter.
Even as her heart raced in her chest, she met Luca’s intense gaze with unwavering defiance, determined not to show him any sign of weakness.
“I don’t decide…lightly… I don’t play fairly…” He whispered out low and steady.
“There will be a…ceremony,” his whispered words cut straight to the point.
