Chapter 8 #2

Mrs. Calder gestured gently around the room with her hands before folding them in front of her.

“Breakfast will be ready when you are. There will be fresh water delivered to your camper as well, but I think Mr. Bonetti would like you to remain in his room until the master suite gets done; it’s currently under construction on the east wing.”

La’Nova snorted softly despite looking around the huge room that she was currently in. She had her camper keys, along with knowing Luca was having fresh water delivered to her camper. She leaned back against the pillows, still unsure on how to feel about waking up in a palace outside of her camper.

Comfort wrapped around her with knowing that she wouldn’t be forced to just sit in Luca’s domain by force. Mrs. Calder was a nice lady, and she wouldn’t give her a hard time nor would she cause any suspicions within her by being angry about waking up in Luca’s bed.

“Thank you, Mrs. Calder. I’m going to shower, get dressed then be down to meet the rest of the staff and talk with Luca,” La’Nova said each word carefully.

“Okay, great. My number is on the dresser if you need anything else before I come to check on you…by all means call my cell phone, I can send someone to assist you. This is an huge new estate that Mr. Bonetti Sr. had built from ground up for his son. I had to tour the grounds three times to remember where everything is.” She offered La’Nova a smile.

La’Nova nodded her head with a fake tight smile creasing her face. Mrs. Calder continued to make small talk with La’Nova then excused herself. Once she shut the room door, La’Nova smashed her cigarette against the sleek black nightstand then slid out of bed and started to pace.

“This nigga real fucking tricky!” She shook her head talking out loud to herself.

“I gots to be trickier though,” she reminded herself.

Her eyes took in the room one more time in disbelief before she drifted toward the bathroom. Just as Mrs. Calder instructed, she had neatly folded clothes on top of the onyx stone countertop.

“Wait…” La’Nova’s words trailed off as she slowly stepped back toward the threshold.

The bathroom unfolded like a private sanctuary made to only seduce not function in.

She dramatically lifted her right foot and felt underneath it.

Heated stone warmed the soles of her feet, something she never in her life experienced.

The floor gleamed beneath her, seamless slabs of pale marble veined in soft gold.

The lighting that came from the edges of the bathroom to her left was a full digital panel that control lightening and heating along with every other function. A remote control sat above the panel.

In front of her next to the onyx stone countertops was a double vanity stretched along the far-right wall.

There were enough mirrors to see yourself from every angle as well.

Her gaze was drawn next to the shower. It was enclosed entirely in glass so clear that a person could slam right into it, not knowing that it was there.

Stone climbed the walls, broken only by a rainfall shower head that was embedded in the ceiling.

A stone bench rested against the wall and that was right up La’Nova’s alley to sit on the bench and slowly bathe herself from head to toes.

She was also clumsy in the shower, so the bench would help her prop her thick leg up to really get her intimate parts good.

“This nigga got the nerve to even have my favorite wash soap and loaf on deck.” She smirked before rolling her eyes.

She was too stubborn to even acknowledge the fact that Luca went the extra mile to make her feel not only welcomed in his home but comfortable with all the things she liked that would accommodate her and cut down her complaining.

“He trying to force a smooth transition…” Her words trailed off as she eyed the tub.

She loved her camper, but it didn’t come with a bathtub like the freestanding tub that sat like a sculpture on the side of the shower.

Even her shower space was limited while this one was massive.

She excitedly made her way to the shower.

She pressed her hand against the glass wall trying to figure out how to open it.

After feeling around for seconds that led her to frustration, she heard a click followed by the shower head turning on, causing her to jump back out of shock.

The glass door slid open smoothly without a sound as La’Nova looked around suspiciously.

She squinted her eyes at every angle and corner of the bathroom in search of hidden cameras.

When she spotted none, she hesitantly lifted her night gown over her head then stepped into the shower.

The warmth wrapped around her immediately.

She released a sigh then stepped under the huge shower head. La’Nova embraced the way the water massaged her scalp, running down her face and body. It was the perfect hot temperature, just the way she liked it to be. She hummed out of habit, keeping her eyes closed for minutes long.

“In this life I’ve been scarred, so I walk around with my guard…And they quick to say La’Nova trippin’! I think about my past and get in my feelings!” La’Nova’s eyes welled up with tears as she sung her favorite artist Rod Wave’s Close Enough to Hurt song.

“I think about the people who desert me… I think about the ones who didn’t deserve me…Think about the ones who did me dirty…I won’t let you close enough to hurt meeee!”

Steam filled the massive glass shower, fogging up the space.

La’Nova scrubbed her body and continued to sing from the bottom of her heart.

Rod Wave always touched on topics that she could relate to.

A lot of times it got her in her feelings and made her super emotional.

Her voice echoed softly as she reached for the lavender scented shampoo to wash her hair.

The water beat against her shoulders, loosening tension that Luca massaged out days ago. Just as she stepped back under the water it turned icy cold. Unaware of Luca’s presence, La’Nova jumped back from the water like it scorched her.

Luca leaned one shoulder against the doorframe.

The small black remote balanced easily in his palm.

Steam rolled out of the bathroom in soft clouds as he continued to press a button without hesitation, making the temperature shift to extreme cold.

La’Nova’s scream cut through the steam as her body reacted before her mind could catch up.

Jets that she hadn’t seen embedded in the stone walls shot out iced water.

She gasped and hit the shower glass as her breath stuttered.

“Breathe, Nova baby,” he whispered out.

Luca was amused and turned on seeing La’Nova panic in the cold water. Her heart-shaped face made his heart thud in his chest as she squirmed uncomfortably.

“Breathe? Nigga you want me to breathe in this bitch and the water is literally biting at my skin?! Let me the fuck out!” She yelled.

She frowned at him covering her back as the water continued to pound at her back. Luca chuckled lightly as he eyed her with amusement. He stepped closer to the glass and pressed his hand to it calmly.

“Don’t fight it, embrace it.” His whisper carried over the jets.

Before he came to entertain La’Nova, he drunk two cups of his favorite hot tea.

Luca even took it a step further this morning by taking three pain relievers to help him exercise his voice box.

La’Nova shivered hard, her teeth chattered as her chest heaved, she tried her hardest to fight against the coldness.

It was so cold that it burned then numbed every nerve in her body screamed for relief.

“Luca, please.” She shook hard.

Luca’s cold gaze traveled from her pretty fat feet, up her legs to her thick thighs then stopped at her belly. It was a crime to him how beautiful and rare La’Nova looked.

“This,” he whispered then gestured to the cold water. “Forces your body to focus. It’ll tighten the blood vessels, sharpen your awareness, and pull you out of panic and into present.” His eyes followed her movements with expectation for her to understand the lesson that he was trying to teach her.

“Your heart races, your breath shortens… but if you stay still and slow your breathing, your body will learn fast.” He paused and cleared his throat.

When he felt no pain, he smirked. Luca wouldn’t express how proud of himself he was at being able to talk for a longer stretch of time without excruciating pain. The pain was faint but still manageable.

“Let me the fuck out right now!” La’Nova gritted out with soap gliding down her luscious body.

Her heart slammed into her ribs as she tried clutching the glass door.

She touched all over it, trying to find a point that would grant her access out.

She shot Luca a deadly look as she gave in a little and accepted her current fate.

Despite her being pissed to the max, she took in his full appearance.

He looked damn good, dressed simply in a charcoal button-down shirt tucked neatly into tailored black slacks. His sleeves rolled just enough to show his tatted forearms. A leather watch hugged his wrist and his scent dominated the soft vanilla and lavender suds that rested against the shower floor.

Her eyes fell on his thick lips as he licked them seductively then down to the thick long bulge in his slacks.

“Eyes up here, Nova baby,” he whispered, snapping her out of her trance.

She snapped her eyes back up at Luca, slightly embarrassed that he caught her ogling him. When he had her attention, he continued to speak before she could get a word in.
