Epilogue
The Lyon’s Den, London
Bessie Dove-Lyon set aside the letter with a smile.
Sinclair was happily married, and he had written to thank her for her part in it.
She wasn’t exactly sure that it was down to her this time, but she would take the compliment.
There were always plenty of others looking for happy endings, and it could do no harm to her matchmaking business.
There was a knock on the door, and she settled her veil over her face and prepared her thoughts. “Enter,” she called. The woman peeped at her, uneasy, worried, hoping against hope that Bessie would be able to help her.
“Mrs. Dove-Lyon? Thank you for seeing me.”
“Sit down,” Bessie said, arranging the teacups, “and tell me how you wish me to help.”
