Chapter 19

Nico

L eaving her is the worst part, but I have business to attend to and no matter what I feel right now I need to make sure that Ivan pays for his betrayal.

I watch as she gets dressed, and she looks different, her demeanor has changed. I can sense her withdrawing from me, and I don’t like it one bit! I walk over to her when she gets to the door, spinning her around so she is flat against the wall.

My hand fits neatly around her slender neck, and I feel her pulse race against my fingers. “Until next time, Il mio tesoro .”Her mouth parts as her breath stutters.

Leaning down, I slowly run my nose along her jaw, inhaling the intoxicating scent of us with as slight hint of vanilla … heaven.

Pulling back, I study her face as her crystal blue eyes flutter open, eyes full of something I don’t want to think about, but it looks fucking good on her … it can’t be love, can it?

I can’t resist leaning in for one last taste as I brush my lips over hers with what almost feels like a lovers kiss … fuck no! What am I even thinking.

I slide my tongue along her lips, easing her mouth open, with the promise of more, then I pull in her soft bottom lip, tasting us both as I suck gently until I hear her moan, and my teeth sink in to her pillowy soft lips. The metallic taste of her blood coats my tongue, and it’s enough to awaken my cock that pulses in my slacks.

She pulls back, raising her hand to her lip and wiping the blood away. She huffs out a laugh as she turns around and walks out the door without a response.

I don’t know what I wanted but it was more than that. I wanted her to beg me to fuck her again, to tell me again that she wanted to please me … and only me.

That isn’t what happened and now she’s withdrawn and walked out like what happened tonight meant nothing!

Maybe it was meant to be what happens in here, stays in here, but after one taste I knew she was mine and soon … so will she.

Scrolling through my phone, I message Tommy to tell him I’m on my way to the yard; Ivan will soon realize he made the wrong decision.

Tonight is going to be … I can’t think of an accurate description of the night ahead. I pull my hair up into a top knot and proceed to run my hands through my beard. Ah! Cathartic! Tonight will be so fucking cathartic.

My driver makes it to the yard in record time, as, surprisingly, the streets seem quieter than they were earlier, and that works to my advantage.

The large metal gates make a loud ringing sound when the chain is pulled off, and the piercing squeak it makes as they are dragged open across the stone paved ground is enough to wake every god damn dog in the neighborhood!

Tommy is standing on the steps to his “makeshift office”, which is a container. His hands buried in the pockets of his jeans, waiting for my arrival. He nods to his man who let us through, then dismisses him.

He’s a loyal capo, as he was to my father before me, and he is the only one of my father’s men I kept on. Many thought I would make him my underboss, but that spot was supposed to be for one person, and they’re no longer here. No one else can fill that spot. One day he’ll be back … he has to be!

The car grinds to a halt, and Tommy steps forward and opens the door for me.

“Boss.” He nods with a smirk.

“Tommy,” I acknowledge. “I assume you have Ivan tucked away nice and secure for me?”

“Sure do, boss. It … er, well, turns out this guy isn’t keen on confined spaces.” He laughs.

“What?” I narrow my eyes, waiting for him to explain.

“Let’s just say, I think this is going to be an easy one. The little fucker is already crying like a baby in there.” He shakes he head as we walk toward the rusty blue container at the back of the yard. Thankfully those fucking dogs have quietened down. We don’t want to bring more attention to us being here.

The container doors open with a squeak, and my nose scrunches as the smell hits me before I even see him.

“What the fuck?” I turn to Tommy, and he laughs … hard!

“Yeah, I forgot to mention he lost the contents of his stomach while he was here.” His hands raise. “Nothing to do with us.”

“Fucking hell, I hate it when that happens. It’s so fucking messy!” I look back at him as we enter the container, shutting the door behind us.

Tommy switches the light above on, which sways gently as we move toward my guest.

“Ivan, how do you like your accommodation? I trust everything has been satisfactory?” I tap his shoulder when I get close, stepping over his vomit, piss, and I can smell shit but can’t see any, so he literally must be sitting in his own shit!

Strolling over to Tommy, who is leaning against the makeshift cabinets he installed, I look at all the wonderful toys I have at my disposal … only these ones are not for pleasure, well, not his anyway! I smile and suck my bottom lip in, and my cock pulses as her taste dances across my tongue.

“Boss.” Tommy’s voice brings me back to the present. “You good?” He tilts his head, as if trying to read me, but he won’t get anywhere, that’s for sure. He may have been able to read my father’s movements, but I am not like him … I am not sure I want to be.

I clear my throat and look at him. “All good,” I tell him as I tilt my head from side to side, hearing the crack of my neck and easing the tension that has been building inside me since she left.

I pick up some pliers and go over to Ivan, tutting loudly to get his attention. His dark eyes land on mine, and I can see the fear in him. I yank the cloth that has been placed in his mouth free to enable him to answer my questions, but he believes he has the right to go first.

“I’m sorry, it’s the O’Conner’s. They said they’d kill me if I didn’t mess up the contract for you,” he rushes out, his breath catching in his throat. “P.-please, we can work something out,” he tells me, his head nodding vigorously.

“Do we have the paperwork here?” I look over at Tommy, who nods . “And it’s the correct one, with no anomalies in?” I tilt my head.

“Yes, boss,” he answers and lifts up the documents so I can see them. “It’s the one we prepared.”

“See, we can sign them, and I can go back to the motherland, no harm, no foul.” He smiles.

“Hmm, no harm, no foul … You set me up, Ivan. Do you think I will let you walk away from that?” I ask, genuinely interested in his response.

“Take the contracts. I don’t want anything for them, just please … d-don’t kill me …p-please,” he begs.

“You heard the man, Tommy, take the payment section from the contract,” I instruct and wait as I hear the sound of paper being ripped up.

“I added something into our contract, a little like you, Ivan. You see, you can never trust anyone in our line of work.” I lean closer to his face. “I don’t need your signature for the contracts to make them valid, your fingerprint will do.” I stand back and study him as I see the already wet patch of his light gray slacks get darker as he pisses himself.

I think Tommy is right … This may be easier than I thought.
