Chapter 52
Lucy
I skipped to the bathroom. Who knew an orgasm and blow job were the key to putting me in a good mood for the day? A cock would be better. Maybe Wilder would still be in the shower and I could get some…
Especially since he didn’t fuck me last night.
I had been overwhelmed by my guys and orgasms and everything last night, but now I was awake, alert, and desperate for my alpha’s cock.
I opened the bathroom door and pouted when I saw the empty shower. It was probably for the best—today was such an important day for Summer and I didn’t want to be late—but my omega was cock-drunk.
It was okay. I could make it until after the grand opening.
Probably.
Maybe.
I chewed my lip as I stood in front of the shower. I was absolutely covered by my guys’ scents and dried cum, but I didn’t want to wash them off.
I let out an irritated huff, pulled my hair up in a bun to keep it out of the water, and hopped into the shower. I would do a quick rinse. Enough to be out in public, but not enough to fully remove their scents.
I quickly did my hair and makeup and put on the dress I’d sewed especially for the occasion—bright yellow like Summer’s bakery, with little embroidered cake slices around the bottom of the skirt.
Now I just needed to get…
Shit.
I needed to dress Felix and Blossom in their grand opening outfits and do a quick photo shoot of them inside the bakery before it opened.
I sprinted down the hall and popped my head into the kitchen. “I’m late! I’ve gotta go right now.”
As I raced down the stairs, Leo’s indignant voice followed me. “That’s what I’ve been trying to say!”
I grinned as I spun around the room, trying to remember where I had stashed the outfits. I located them just as my guys joined me in the shop, but then my heart sank. “I didn’t make outfits for you.”
“Huh?” Wilder looked down at his long-sleeved flannel, jeans, and work boots. “Is there a dress code?”
“No. I just—” You’re being high-maintenance. Stop making such a big fuss. “You know what, never mind.”
King crooked his finger at me, expression stern. I dragged my feet against the floor as I crossed the short distance between us. He lifted my chin so I couldn’t avoid his gaze.
“Tell me.”
“It’s not important.”
Oh no. Now he had his spanking face on.
“This is our first time out in town as a pack.” I chewed my lip. “I like making matching outfits for my friends for town events.”
King and Wilder let out low growls, and all three of their scents intensified.
“You want everyone to know we belong to you,” King said. A statement, not a question, but I nodded all the same.
“Sorry if that’s weird.”
Leo snorted and tugged me into his chest, his body firm against mine. He was using his new cane, the one King gave him, and that made excited little sparks somersault through my chest. “Weird? I fucking love it. Next time we’ll all be matching.”
I melted against him. My guys were perfect. Except…I couldn’t smell myself on his skin anymore. My nose wrinkled, my omega turning vicious as my nose scrunched.
My movements were borderline aggressive as I rubbed my cheek against his neck. I might not have made them special outfits, but they sure as fuck weren’t going outside without my scent on their skin.
Once I was satisfied Leo was covered in my scent, I moved down the line to King and then Wilder. My chest loosened once they were drenched in my scent. They hadn’t argued or rolled their eyes at my possessiveness.
Wilder’s scent was a riot of emotion, and his grip on my ass was almost desperate. “Need anything else before we leave?”
I peered into his eyes, but they didn’t offer me an explanation for his mood. This would be a lot easier if we were bonded and I could feel his emotions.
My breath hitched. The four of us had been a pack for all of twelve hours and I was already thinking about bonding?
“Lucy?”
Right. This was not the time to have a spiral about our relationship.
“Nope, I don’t need anything else. Let’s go.”
I grabbed Wilder’s hand, and we headed out the door.
“What time is it?” I asked as we approached the bakery. Summer had told me to arrive at nine so we’d have plenty of time to set up before the party started at eleven.
“Nine thirteen,” King said.
“Wow, only thirteen minutes late. That might be a record.” I raised my voice so I could be heard over Summer’s music. She had it going so loud we could hear it from the sidewalk.
“I need to get Blossom and Felix dressed and—”
I was interrupted by Lars’s truck pulling up beside us. Before it had come to a full stop, Olive threw the door open. She bounced toward me with a squeal, and her enthusiastic hug would have toppled me over if not for Wilder’s huge chest keeping me steady.
“Olive! Do not get out of a moving car.” Finn exited the truck in a cloud of fury, followed by my brother and Easton—the only one who was smiling.
Olive pursed her lips. “I’m not sure that really counts as moving.”
“Unless you want to lose your door-opening privileges, you would do well to listen to me.”
Olive just smiled at her alpha’s over-the-top protectiveness.
“Okay, I promise I won’t do that again. Now you should probably leave.
I’ll see you in a little bit for the opening—” Olive’s efforts to shove Finn back to the truck were futile.
Her three alphas stood shoulder to shoulder, scowling at my men.
I arched an eyebrow, and Olive mouthed “Sorry.” Oh god, this was going to be some horrible brother posturing, wasn’t it?
“Lars,” I said, my voice full of warning. “Be nice.”
He grunted.
“Seriously. Don’t be obnoxious about this.”
“You’re my sister. Of course I’m going to be obnoxious.”
“I wasn’t rude to Olive when you started courting her!”
That got his attention. He stopped scowling long enough to meet my gaze. “Yeah, but that’s because Olive is perfect.”
The omega in question rolled her eyes. “It’s a lost cause, Lucy. Just come over here and let them have their posturing moment. Then we can move on.”
Wilder’s hands momentarily tightened on my hips before he let go, and I stepped to the side. Olive slung her arm around my shoulder.
Lars opened his mouth and I braced myself for what he was going to say. We didn’t get a chance to hear it because Easton spoke up instead.
“Woah, that’s a sick cane.” He bounded over to where Leo was standing and crouched down to get a better look. “Holy shit, I’ve never seen anything like that.”
King puffed up, clearly proud of the gift he gave his beta. I mean, his pack mate. Maybe I needed to figure out a way to force them to admit their feelings for each other.
“Thanks,” Leo said, grinning.
I beamed at his easy acceptance of his cane, so different from just a few weeks ago. I dabbed at my eyes and Olive wrapped her arm around my shoulder.
“You okay?” she asked.
“Just happy.”
“Good. You deserve all the happiness.”
Lars and Finn did not share our happiness.
“Easton, this is not what we discussed,” Finn said.
But Easton was too far gone. He was sitting on the sidewalk, running his fingers down the cane.
“The carving is pretty straightforward. It’s been a while since I’ve done it, but I’m sure I could pick it back up. I would need to do some research to see how they got this gold veining.”
“Easton!” Finn yelled. “What the fuck are you doing?”
“What do you mean?”
“My guys are such idiots.” Olive pressed her hand against her mouth to stifle her giggles. “You’re not being very intimidating, baby,” she called out.
Easton looked completely lost until Lars made an exasperated gesture at my guys.
“Oh. Oooohhh.” He got off the ground and crossed his arms. “We’re supposed to be intimidating you three.”
“For fuck’s sake,” Finn muttered.
Leo was grinning, King looked confused, and Wilder was scowling. Probably because I wasn’t within arm’s reach.
“Well, the thing is, I’m a friendly guy,” Easton said. “So friendly that I make friends wherever I go. My most recent new friend is a pig farmer just west of here.”
I glanced at Olive for any clues as to where this was going, but she looked just as lost as I was.
“Lucy and I grew up together. She’s like my sister. If you hurt her in any way, I will personally hunt you down, kill you, and deliver you to my new friend’s pig farm, where they will eat your corpses, clothes and all, until no one can find even a trace of your DNA.”
My jaw was on the ground. Where had this come from? Easton was literal human sunshine in an oversized alpha body.
“He’s been reading too many of your mafia romances,” I muttered.
“Yeah. But also, that was hot.”
I scrunched my nose as Olive perfumed.
“Okay, okay. Enough of this.” I stepped in front of Easton and patted his chest. “That was…disturbing. But thanks for the sentiment.” I turned to Lars and Finn. “I know you two have my back, but the alpha posturing isn’t what I need right now. So let’s all be friends and go inside.”
Wilder snagged me around the waist and pulled me to his side. I stood on my tiptoes and kissed his cheek. “Feel better, big guy?”
He grunted, but his woodsy scent brightened as we headed inside the bakery.
