Chapter 8

EIGHT

Meyer

I wake up to Jade crushed against me, and my cock rock hard. She doodles patterns on my chest, and I shiver as her nails scratch across my torso.

“Morning,” I rasp, my voice low and gravelly.

“Mm, morning,” she sighs.

The leg draped across my waist shifts, and I grab her thigh before she can get away.

“Where are you going?” I ask.

“Nowhere. I thought you might not want me all over you.”

“Trust me, Sugar, I don’t mind one bit.”

Jade laughs, the sound traveling through her body and into mine. My cock hardens even more, and I bite back a groan.

“I have to get to work soon,” she sighs.

I tighten my hold on her. “When?”

“What time is it?” She twists to see the alarm clock on the nightstand.

“Just after seven.”

“Soon. I still have to go home and change before I head into town.”

“So, we have time for a quickie?” I ask as I nuzzle her neck.

“It would have to be really quick,” she warns me.

“I can work with that.”

I roll her under me, and she moans as I settle between her legs. My cock brushes against her core, and I growl when I feel how wet she is.

“So ready for me,” I mutter against her skin.

She nods, wrapping her arms around me and arching into my hold. “I love your body.”

“I love yours even more,” I say as I kiss down her neck.

I cup her tits in my palms, and she gasps.

“Meyer!”

I smirk as I wrap my lips around one stiff nipple.

“Oh God!”

My tongue rolls over the stiff peak, and her hips rock against me, her pussy sliding up and down my length. I groan as I release her nipple and move to the other one.

“Need you,” she begs.

Her hips are restless, and she wiggles until the tip of my cock is poised at her entrance. I tense, and we lock eyes as she slowly rocks on my length.

“Fuck, Jade.”

“So good. So full ,” she sighs.

She takes all of me, and I watch her face as I pound into her. Her hair spills across my pillow, her eyes growing stormy as her orgasm approaches, gray eclipsing blue.

“So tight,” I grunt.

She sucks in a sharp breath as I bottom out inside her.

My lips claim hers, and we rock together, moving in perfect sync. She’s so hot, her pussy gushing around with each thrust.

“I’m close!” she gasps, hooking her leg around my waist to pull me deeper.

“Fuck, you’re so hot,” I groan as her pussy clamps down around my dick.

“Meyer!”

Her face is flushed, and I know she’s close.

“Oh!” Her breath catches, and she clings to me as she comes.

I bury my face in her neck and groan as I spill inside her. “Fuck!”

Breathing hard, I collapse on my side next to her.

Jade smiles as she rolls onto her side to face me. “So much for a quickie.”

I look at the clock to see that it’s now after eight.

“You could call in sick today,” I suggest.

She sighs. “I wish, but I have too much to do today.”

I drink her in greedily as she rolls out of bed and pulls on her clothes. She sits on the edge of the bed and tugs her socks and shoes on, and I trail my fingers down her back.

“Stop tempting me!” she pouts.

I grin. “I can’t help that I’m tempting.”

She laughs and picks up her phone. “What are you doing today?”

“Just hanging out.”

“Cool. I’ll see you tonight?” she asks, securing her hair in a ponytail.

“Yeah.”

Jade smiles and kisses me one last time before she grabs her things and heads out. I watch as she crosses the yard and into her house. A few minutes later, she comes back out in a change of clothes. Our eyes meet, and she grins, waving before she climbs behind the wheel and heads off to work.

I sigh as I return to my bedroom and look at the messy bed. Last night was mind-blowing. It was perfect. Jade is perfect.

I can’t believe I wasted so much time fighting my attraction to her. I should have known it was a waste of time. I don’t know how anyone couldn’t like Jade. She’s so sweet and open. Irresistible.

My phone rings in the other room, and I hurry to answer it, wondering if it’s Jade. I grab it before it can go to voicemail, surprised to see Luca’s name on the screen.

“Hey, you okay?” I ask my old Army Ranger friend.

“Hey, man. Yeah, I’m good.”

I hear the whirr of a helicopter's blades in the background. “Where you at?”

“Overseas. I’m headed back in a few days.”

“Good.”

“I hear you’re in Wolf Valley now.”

“Yeah. Been here a few months.”

“My brother lives there.”

“Really?”

“Yeah. His name is Milo. He works for the fire department. He’s been there about a year.”

I nod, though he can’t see me. “Are you coming for a visit?”

“Actually, I’m getting out.”

“You are?”

“Yeah, it’s just…not what I want out of life anymore.”

We’re silent for a moment. I don’t get it. I loved being in the Marines. I would still be in the military now if I hadn’t been shot. I miss it. I miss having a purpose, waking up every day knowing exactly what’s expected of me and what I’m going to do that day.

“I’m moving to Wolf Valley. I want to be close to Milo. I haven’t hung out with him for a few years, so it’ll be good to reconnect.”

“I bet.”

“I’ll be there in a month if things go right.”

“Let me know when you get here. I’ll help you move in and buy you a beer.”

“Thanks, I’ll take you up on that. Can you let me know if you get any leads on a place? I’m having a hard time finding anything for sale that doesn’t need a ton of repairs, and there aren’t many rentals in the area.”

“I’ll keep an eye out for anything that’s about to be listed.”

“Thanks, man. I’ll hit you up when I’m headed out there.”

“Sounds good. Be safe.”

“You, too. Talk to you later.”

We hang up, and I toss my phone on the counter, looking around the place. There’s not much to clean, so I get to work. My eyes keep straying to the clock, and I count the minutes until Jade comes home.

I smile as I think about all the things we could do together, and for the first time since I left the military, I’m excited for the future.

A future with Jade.
