Chapter 19 #2

His powerful thighs flexed beneath her as he walked them onto the beach, their lips still locked in a searing kiss. They moved together, his tongue darting forward to part her lips and seek entry.

She moaned at the feel of it darting into her mouth and dancing with her tongue. His hands fisted in her hair as her own clawed at his back, fighting to feel more of him.

She needed to feel more of him.

Arthur wrenched his head back, giving her a smirk.

“We’ll get back to that in just a moment.” He grinned, letting go of her legs so they fell to the ground.

To her surprise, it was grass beneath her toes, not sand. Marissa blinked, looking around them and realizing he’d walked them farther than she’d thought.

Looking at the ground, she realized why Arthur had brought her to this exact location. The blanket that he’d brought with them was sitting atop the grass.

He bent, grabbing a hold of the edges and spreading it out. Marissa couldn’t take her eyes off him as his muscles flexed and bulged as he readied them a spot.

When the blanket was laid out, his gaze turned back to her. Even in the darkness, she could make out the heated glimmer in his eyes.

He stalked toward her, immediately crashing into her once more as their lips collided. They moved, the kiss deepening into something primal as he bent, slowly guiding her down to the blanket.

They fell into each other, him pressing himself between her thighs as they continued kissing. His hands began to roam, tracing the lines of her body in a way that was so enticing, making her back arch.

She was filled with a need she had never experienced before. She felt mad with it. Drunk on it. She didn’t know how to satiate it.

Arthur broke their kiss, staring down into her face as his fingertips toyed with her nipples. She moaned, pressing her breasts up into his capable hands, a plea for more falling from her lips.

“Patience,” Arthur growled, before bowing his head and kissing her again.

He started with her lips, then his mouth traced along her jawline and down the column of her throat. Her breath caught as he continued his journey, kissing down the valley between her breasts.

He went lower still. The fabric of her dress was between them, but even with that, she felt like his touch might drive her mad. She squirmed beneath him, not knowing what to do with all this sudden needy energy. She felt like she might explode.

“Ye can tell me to stop at any time,” Arthur said.

She didn’t respond. Her brain was barely working, focusing on only one thing, even though she didn’t entirely know what that thing was. All she knew was that she needed release. Otherwise, she might catch fire.

“Do ye hear me, kitten?” Arthur’s voice had taken on a commanding note, and he’d stopped his trail of kisses along her body.

Marissa glanced down at him, finding him staring at her intently.

“Ye can tell me to stop at any time,” Arthur repeated seriously. “I need to make sure that ye understand.”

“I understand,” Marissa panted, the words barely more than a breathy moan.

But Arthur heard them all the same. Feral delight lit up his face as he lowered his mouth back to her body. His hands traced down her legs, slowly tugging up the wet fabric of her dress and her chemise, exposing all of her most delicate parts to the stars and him.

She heard his breath catch.

“Christ, ye’re perfect,” he murmured.

Marissa thought he was talking more to himself than to her.

That served her well though, because that meant he wasn’t expecting a reply. And her brain could not form one at the moment. Not as his hands trailed back up her legs.

His fingertips danced along her flesh, causing it to break out in goosebumps. They stopped at the apex of her thighs, and she felt the soft caress as he stroked the downy hair that rested there.

“So perfect.”

His voice was reverent, as if the words he’d spoken had been a prayer. She didn’t have time to think before he dipped his head.

His mouth came down to kiss her most delicate parts. His tongue darted out to lap at her, parting her.

She gasped. The feeling was unlike anything she had experienced before. Her hips bucked off the blanket, rising to meet him before she’d given it so much as a second thought.

All she knew was that whatever was happening, she needed more of it.

A hungry sound tore from Arthur’s throat, and Marissa found out exactly what he’d meant when he said he wanted to feast on her. He used his hands to part her, giving himself better access.

He lapped at her, his tongue darting out and exploring her with reckless abandon. Marissa’s hands clenched, fisting in the blanket as she thrust her hips upward, meeting his hunger with desire of her own.

“Arthur,” she cried out as he sucked on her.

Something coiled deep within her, a knot forming deep below her navel. It felt as if she was climbing, reaching the top of the tallest mountain inside her.

She’d thought she’d been filled with need before, but that was nothing compared to the aching, ferocious want that filled her now. She felt delirious, lost in carnal pleasure.

One of Arthur’s hands moved, coming up to knead her breast. It was all too much. The feel of him devouring her between her thighs, the sharp twinge of delicious pain as he lightly pinched her nipple.

The pressure that had been building inside her gave way, sending her spiraling in on herself. Wave after wave of pleasure crashed over her. She felt dizzy and breathless and lost.

Her hands fisted in his hair, holding him in place as she rode wave after wave of release. And Arthur continued to feast on her, matching his pace with the frequency of her moans.

Slowly, as her breathing slowly started to return to normal and her body wracked itself with its final spasm of pleasure, Arthur stopped.

Marissa was breathless. Utterly and truly spent. She stared up at the sky, noting the stars dancing above them, the heavens having watched what had just happened on the blanket beneath them.

Arthur moved up her body, trailing kisses back up until he was leaning over her. A satisfied smirk danced on his face.

But Marissa just stared at the sky, unable to imagine how she would ever want to do anything other than this.
