chapter 54

Chapter 54 -

Two months had passed.

Sixty-one days.

Yet Aarav still couldn't forget the look in Kavya's eyes that afternoon in the café.

There had been no anger.

No hatred.

Only disappointment.

A quiet exhaustion that frightened him more than rage ever could.

He had wanted to stop her.

To tell her they could start over.

To beg.

To promise.

To do anything.

But the moment tears filled her eyes...

Every word died in his throat.

Because he knew he wastoo late.

He had taken years to realize his love.

Years to understand his mistakes.

Years to see the woman who had stood beside him all along.

And by the time he finally opened his eyes...

He had already broken something that couldn't simply be repaired.

---

That afternoon...

The silence between them had stretched until Kavya slowly stood.

She picked up her bag without looking at him.

Her fingers trembled slightly.

"Aarav..."

Her voice was barely above a whisper.

"We shouldn't meet anymore."

He looked up immediately.

"Kavya..."

She forced a smile.

One that hurt more than tears.

"We're making this even messier."

A pause.

"We're already divorced."

The words landed like stones. He remembered he signed those terrible papers himself.

"From now on..."

She swallowed.

"We're strangers."

Aarav's lips parted.

"No..."

But she had already turned away.

Walking toward the café door with hurried steps.

Not because she hated him.

Because staying any longer would only reopen wounds she had spent months trying to close.

"Kavya!"
