Epilogue

Brogan’s hips undulated to the same rhythm as Camber’s as they took this long and slow, edging to the peak of their passion.

Making love to Camber was all the sweeter now that they were telepathically linked. Brogan could hear Camber’s voice telling her exactly what she wanted. Camber’s legs tightened around her hips. I’m going to come, Wolf.

She pulled Brogan down to her lips and put her arms around her neck. Brogan was more than ready. She had been trying to hold her back for as long as possible.

When the end came, it was so intense that Brogan could not vocalize her feelings. She shuddered into pure love, emotion, and pleasure. On the other hand, Camber squeezed Brogan’s neck so tight that she could have squeezed her head off.

Brogan came down from the high of her orgasm and breathed hard. Camber let go of her tight grip and flopped back onto the bed.

“Goddess, Wolf. You are going to kill me before the Abnobian empire ever does,” Camber said.

Brogan gave her a deep kiss, then fell onto her side. “Not if you kill me first. You nearly choked me.”

Camber laughed and snuggled into her side, and Brogan put her arm around her neck.

“I’m so happy we decided to take a break while trying to save the universe,” Brogan said.

“I think saving the universe is a bit too grand a boast. Maybe denting the empire.”

“Maybe, but we still deserve a break.”

“True. It was so good of the Alpha and Mater to give us a cabin here on GallowGlas. It’s so peaceful here,” Camber said.

Koda and Enor insisted on welcoming Brogan into their pack and gave them the most idyllic cabin on the edge of the Great Forest. It even had a lake nearby, so the Irish sea wolf could swim.

“It’s perfect,” Brogan said.

“That is beautiful too.” Camber pointed to a large painting on the opposite wall of their bedroom, facing the bed. It was a painting of the seascape bordering the Irish pack lands.

Brogan picked up that painting during their recent few days on Earth. Camber guided them to a portal on Earth so Brogan could check in with her family in Ireland and explain where she had gone.

They then went to visit Byron, the leader of the Debrek vampire clan, to spread the word to their friends that Morrigan had found her and to say goodbye.

“I painted that when I was nineteen. It’s nice to have a reminder of my family,” Brogan said.

“I don’t know why you didn’t bring any more of your paintings.”

Brogan looked at the landscape and said, “My other paintings were ways to express my suppressed emotions. My sadness, my loneliness and unhappiness. I don’t need that any more.”

Camber rolled on top of Brogan and kissed her on the cheek. “Aww. You’re so sweet.”

“Shut up. I’m not. I asked Byron if she could send someone to close up my apartment and have someone sell my paintings.”

“That’s a shame. That apartment was your home, just like your pack lands,” Camber said.

Brogan placed her hand between Camber’s breasts. “No, just like I told Byron, you are my home. I’ve been looking for home all my life, and I had to come a long way to find it.”

“What did your friend Byron say?”

“She was happy I found love, like her, and happy that Morrigan found me. I told her I wasn’t coming back anytime soon, but I might drop in from time to time. Who knows.”

Camber leaned over to reach Brogan’s lips and breathed, “You’re my home too. I’ve been alone my whole life, and now I’m more happy than I could ever have believed. But you know I can’t change what I do. I have to help free the people of this realm.”

“I will always be by your side, helping you and the crew fight the Abnobians,” Brogan said.

Camber traced her tongue over Brogan’s bottom lip, making her groan.

“How long till we said we’d meet Margot, Jhosa, and the crew?” Brogan said.

“Seven whole days, It might be the last time we get on our own for a while.” Camber smiled.

“Good.” Brogan rolled on top of Camber. “Not nearly enough time to worship your body and finish the painting I was doing of you. So we better use our time well.”

Camber chuckled, then met Brogan’s lips. Just before they got lost in their passion, Brogan said, “I love you, Camber.”

“I love you too, Wolfy.”

Brogan gave lavish kisses to Camber’s mate bite and made Camber groan.

“I love you even more when you touch me,” Camber said.

Brogan had found her mate, found her friends, and found a cause to fight for. How lucky she had been when Balor made her fly into the portal that took her straight to her love. Maybe it was fate?

It was fate.
