Chapter 78- Catastrophe

I kept glancing at Cole contemplating if I wanted to ask him about it or not. I really didn't want to seem like I didn't trust him but at the same time I was curious to know. I didn't like that woman one bit, on the few occasions that we've met she has done nothing but look down on me like she was some fucking queen or something.

“You know if there's anything bothering you you can ask me," Coal said as he briefly turned to me before turning his eyes on the road.

“ Oh, it's nothing," was that really the case? No. I really wanted to know but I didn't want to bother him.

We stopped in front of the company as I opened the car door and stepped out and Cole did the same.

“ Nathan will be here later. We've got things to talk about. You know that he was with me that night when we couldn't find you, he gave me strength and just so you know he knows about us now,” he said and I couldn't help but blush.

I know Nathan, he's going to tease me about this the moment he sees me.

“ Okay, I'll be sure to thank him when I see him,” I said and he nodded.

" Oh shit,” Cole suddenly said as he stopped and I turned to him in confusion,

" What's wrong?" I asked as I looked at him in worry.

“ I don't know but I think it's something I ate this morning, can you go get pain relief from the pharmacy for me?" He asked as he closed his eyes and held his stomach.

“ Oh, okay, I'll walk you to the elevator," I said but he shook his head,

“ No, please hurry," he said and I nodded totally confused but nevertheless I was running out of the company, there was a pharmacy not too far from here.

I just hope he was doing okay.

*******

I feel like a total jerk for lying to her, there was nothing wrong with me and I was absolutely fine but I sighted that woman on time before Anna could see her and I didn't want Anna anywhere near her, that's why I had to look for a way to send her away so I can take care of the nuisance which was why I faked a stomach ache.

I don't know what was so hard for her to understand, I didn't love her and I'll never love her so the sooner she gets that into her thick head the better.

“ What do you want?” I asked, my voice sharp with anger. I quickly moved back when she tried to hug me.

“ I just came to see you, I missed you,” she said as she looked at me with a pout.

Mirabel and I have been friends until my dad decided that we should get married, suddenly I didn't want to be anywhere near her.

“ Mirable, I have work to do and it's too early for this, my workers are staring," I said but she just shrugged.

" What's wrong with that? We're going to get married after all, but if you're shy we could go to your office,” she said,

" No, we're not going to get married and you're obviously not going to my office,” I said as I held her hand and started leading her to the exit.

" Stop it Cole, I came here so we could talk about our marriage plans and all we need, and not for you to push me out,” she said as she finally released her hand from my hold and we both stopped.

" When are you going to listen to me and accept the fact that we're not going to get married, that's not going to happen, accept it and let's be back to the friends we were," I said but she shook her head,

“ You're driving me crazy," I said in frustration, Anna would be back any moment from now and this woman still wasn't gone.

“ Look let's strike a deal, you remember that thing you asked me about being my secretary?” I asked and she immediately nodded in interest.

“ If you want us to talk about it, you'd have to leave now because I have to work. I'll fix a date for us to discuss it, what do you say?” I asked and she made a gesture like she was thinking.

“ So you're going to fix a date for us?" She asked and I nodded,

" You just have to excuse me now because I have a few minutes before my meeting and just because I'm the boss doesn't mean I should be late, right?” I said and she nodded,

" Good, I'll go now, I'll send you the address," I said before I started making my way to the elevator.

“ What if I wait?" She suddenly asked and I stopped as I turned to her.

“ No, there's no need for that I'm already late," I said,

" Ow,” she said with a pout before waving at me and walking away and I couldn't help but release the breath I didn't know I was holding.

That was a close one.

My dad was really pissing me off with all this marriage stuff. Me and Mirabel were cool until this marriage situation and it's frustrating.

I pressed the elevator button and got in as I patiently waited to reach our floor. I walked out of the elevator when the door opened as I walked to my office.

Sometimes when something good happens to you, be grateful for it. Anna is that something good and I'll do everything to keep her by my side, now and forever.

I got settled down as I waited for Anna to return, now I have to keep the stomach ache act. Such a great boyfriend I am.

I waited for some time before the door finally opened and Anna walked in. The look on her face told me there was trouble.

“ Hey honey, what's wrong?" I asked as I stood up and rushed to her, my heart pounding in my chest.

“ That woman is fucking annoying, what the hell was Mirable doing here?”

Oh shoot!
