Chapter 37 Evie #2

“Yes. It’s even more fun when it’s violent.”

He bit my lip, his arm wrapped around my back, forcing me to arch into him harder.

“Little psycho girl likes to boss people around,” he whispered. “Such a little angel who loves people spilling blood for her.”

“Am I an angel or a psycho, Aiden? Get your names straight.”

“You’re a sweet, beautiful angel who is going to sink those nails in and drag me right to hell like a psycho.”

His free hand caressed my side before he positioned his thigh between my legs.

I ground down, needing some sort of friction before I screamed.

“Please, Aiden.”

“Please what? You’re doing perfect, Angel. Get off on me. Show me how bad you want my cock and I’ll give it to you later.”

“I don’t think you get to be the one making demands,” I said, my teeth grinding together.

“I think I do when you’re humping my leg to get off.”

My cheeks burned in embarrassment. My hands flew to his chest, trying to push him away.

He held me in place, his thigh unmovable underneath me. He leaned in, his lips against my ear. I could feel the heat rolling off him, every memory of staring at these exact muscles holding me in place like a movie—or maybe more accurately a porno, considering the dirty thoughts I had about him.

Now I was living those thoughts.

I moved again, my body not missing a beat. I moaned, the sound filling the room around us. His lips crashed into mine, trying to swallow the sounds.

“You have to be quiet,” he whispered.

I shook my head, my orgasm building stronger now. I was so close, my mind becoming muddled with pleasure.

I tried to ask him why—having no need or want to keep this quiet anymore—but I couldn’t find any words. I couldn’t do anything but shake my head no. I didn’t want to hide anything with Aiden. I wanted him all to myself, and I was happy to let the world know it.

“What’s that? Are you trying to scream so they find us?”

I nodded, screaming loud against his lips now. He drowned out the worst of it, and that only made me want to scream more.

His fingers pressed into my hips, forcing me to keep moving faster and faster until I couldn’t take it anymore. My body coiled, the next pull of my hips against his thigh sending me over the edge.

I moaned against his hand again, my body melting, but he held me in place.

“Look at you, so satisfied, dripping wet—and I bet you are ready for more.”

“Please,” I begged.

“Begging for me now? I told you, you’re an angel. But no, I’d rather have you sit here all night wiggling your ass and waiting for the second I fill you.”

“You’re going to?”

He brought his hand to his mouth, sliding in two fingers.

“Are you going to act up?”

I grinned, already turned on again. “Probably.”

“Perfect, it’s one thing I absolutely love about you.”

He helped me down, his hand wrapping in mine as he stood watching me.

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

He pushed back my hair, his eyes still roaming my face.

“Absolutely nothing,” he said.

My chest seemed to flare with anger because I knew.

I loved Aiden.

And I knew I’d never be able to stop. I either had to make him mine forever or spend the rest of my life on the sidelines, stuck wanting someone I could never have, stuck hiding it from the world.

“Nothing other than we have to continue being a secret to everyone we know. Will we always have to hide this? Do you think I would continue hiding this for weeks, months, hell maybe even years?”

I could be a rose. A soft, delicate thing that people loved to look at, but I could be the thorn, too. The sharp, angry blade that would cut you if you got too close, and Aiden felt entirely too close right now.

Anger was safe, it was a protective shield when my heart wanted to attach itself to Aiden, but I couldn’t—not when I was a secret to him.

His eyes still searched my face, but there was more panic in them now.

“What are you talking about? Did I miss something? I thought we agreed not to say anything yet.”

“Yeah, and when does yet come? What if I don’t want to hide it anymore? Did you think about what I wanted or have you only been worried about what you want?”

“Evie, you know that isn’t fair. You aren’t the one risking everything here.”

“No? It sure feels like it,” I snapped, not ready to say the rest of my sentence.

Because Aiden was my everything, and I was beginning to think I was risking everything, too.

The thought alone felt pathetic.

I’d been in love with Aiden for as long as I could remember, and I only hoped that one day he would wake up and realize he was in love with me. That it would be a love story to rival the movies.

Not a hidden story I had to hide away.

He reached to wrap his arms around me again, but I pushed him back.

“No. I’m not going to do this. I’m not acting like I want this hidden anymore.”

“So instead of having a conversation about it, you are going to literally push me away and get angry?”

“Does it matter? Would you go out there and tell everyone right now? No, you wouldn’t, so what’s the point?”

“No, I wouldn’t, but that doesn’t mean I never would. And you pushing me away like this is exactly why I wouldn’t. How am I supposed to trust you actually want this for good when you are going to push me away and get angry the first second something isn’t right?”

“Oh, so this is my fault now?”

He ran a hand down his face with a sigh. “No, not at all, but you aren’t even giving us a chance before you turn back into psycho Evie, who wants to destroy everything that might be good.”

The words felt like a slap and I let them sting.

“Then I guess it’s lucky for both of us that I destroyed it before you ruined your life.

” I spun on the heel of my boot, ready to run, but paused.

“And I don’t need a bodyguard, or a friend or anything else—don’t feel obligated to come after me.

You can feel assured that I’m not your responsibility this time. ”

I walked out, heading right to the back door and out to one of the cars.

I didn’t give anyone a chance to say anything—it’s not like I could tell them what was happening anyway—and I took off, heading to the one place that wouldn’t give me any thoughts of Aiden.
