Chapter 23
“Look at this simp-ass nigga. It’s about time you climbed out of Ari’s ass long enough to come kick it with us,” Logic called out.
I laughed, but he wasn’t lying. Since Naiari re-entered our boy’s life, Keyz rarely had time to kick it.
We went to a strip club a couple weeks ago, and his ass was on video chat with her before the night ended.
“Fuck you, bitch. Don’t hate on me because you’re single and running through dusty-ass bitches to fill the void from Nova’s ass.”
“Damn, bro. You ain’t have to do him like that. You know Nova’s a sensitive topic for him. He’s been crying in the corner since he saw her at the concert,” I teased.
“Nigga, you’s a damn lie! Not that it’s any of your business, but I took her back to my condo that night and fucked the dogshit out of her.
After I nutted for the third time, I kicked her ass out my shit and sent her home in an Uber.
I don’t know what the fuck you thought this was,” he spat, taking a pull from his blunt.
“Damn, you didn’t tell me y’all hooked up,” Keyz stated.
“I wasn’t gonna say anything about it, but y’all keep tryna make it seem like I’m a punk. If I wanted to fuck with her, I would, but she’s got me all fucked up,” he fussed.
He could pretend all he wanted, but it was clear his feelings were involved.
“You ain’t gotta act all hard around us. We know how much you loved her, and we also saw the demon come out when she did what she did. You already know my history with Naiari, so I don’t have any room to judge. As soon as I laid eyes on her, I already had a plan set in motion to get her back.”
“What about your little situation with the model chick?” I inquired, knowing he was in a weird-ass PR relationship with some popular model named Golden Richie.
“I haven’t gotten that far yet. I’m still trying to get Ari to take me seriously. We’ve been spending a lot of time together because of the kids, but she has a wall up.”
“I can understand why. Y’all both have been through a lot of shit, and now you have kids together. It’s a lot to navigate through. Neither of you are the same people you were when you went to prison, so you’re basically learning each other all over again.”
“Yeah. We fucked before I went out of town for Golden’s fashion show, and she’s been giving me her ass to kiss ever since.”
“Have you talked to her? Does she know about the arrangement between you and ol’ girl?” I questioned.
“Naw. I never thought to bring it up. What I have going on with Golden isn’t important enough to talk about.
It’s not like we’re in a real relationship.
I asked her what was wrong, and she swears I’m tripping.
I know something is up because I offered to come over and eat her pussy, and she said her pussy had a headache.
I don’t know what type of games she’s playing, but I’m giving her some space to get her mind right.
My schedule is so busy right now, I barely have time to sit still.
” Keynauri scratched the side of his beard with a stressed look on his face.
“Don’t even sweat it. Your album is doing numbers.
Your shows are sold out, and you’ve already got some dope-ass features lined up for the next album.
This is your winning season, bro. You’ve gotta block out anything that doesn’t bring you peace, and lock in.
We’re about to be traveling all over the world while you live out your dreams. I’m proud of you, bro.
” Logic encouraged Keyz while I nodded in agreement.
“What Logic said. I have your music blasting every morning when I get up to head to the gym. You are definitely walking into your purpose, and it’s only up from here.
Don’t let anything or anyone knock you off your square.
Personally, I believe you and Ari are soulmates, but you’re too fly of a nigga to beg someone to be with you.
Put all your cards on the table, and if she’s not willing to accept what you have to offer, leave her where she’s at, and be the best father you can be to your kids,” I advised him.
Part of me was thinking about my own situation as I was talking.
Lyric and I had been separated for months, but the shit felt like an eternity. When I ended things, I realized that I did the exact thing she had done when she caught me in bed with Valor. I acted off of emotions, and even though they were justified, I regretted my decision after the dust settled.
At first, I thought about going back home and telling her I wanted my family back, but when I saw the way she was flourishing and building a name for herself, I took a step back.
It wasn’t because I felt threatened or anything, but because I wanted her to have her moment.
Lyric was finding herself, and I didn’t want to interrupt her growth.
We needed the time apart to grow as individuals, and I was trying my hardest to give her room to explore.
I knew about the nigga she called herself talking to, but I wasn’t pressed, because he was only temporary.
Lyric needed the experience because, outside of me, she had never been with anyone that wasn’t rooted in trauma.
“Aye, East. What happened with the deal in Atlanta? Did ol’ boy show up for the meeting?” Logic asked me. I told him that Gunna sent me out of town to meet up with one of his distributors and insisted that Jacq tagged along.
“It was alright. I’m pissed because Jett couldn’t access the files for his background. He’s still working on it, but I’ve got a bad feeling about this nigga.”
“All I can tell you is to trust your gut. You know you don’t like new people, so you might just be leery of him because you don’t know anything about him.
Keep an eye on him and see how he’s moving before you do anything.
If Gunna is vouching for him, then you know he’s already looked into him to some degree,” Keynauri reasoned.
I couldn’t shake the feeling in my gut. It wasn’t necessarily that I thought he was a danger to me, but I didn’t like the way he popped up in our city.
Gunna claimed he moved from Haiti to finish school.
Something about his story wasn’t adding up, and I was determined to get to the bottom of things.
“You’re probably right. I told Jett to do whatever he could to get through the red tape on his records. I won’t be able to rest until I get all of the details on him.”
“Fasho. It’ll all come out eventually, and if we need to handle it, then we will,” Logic commented.
“Hell yeah. What’s up with you, though? I saw your momma posting scriptures online talking about how children are supposed to honor their parents and how family ain’t shit.
What’s going on with her?” I inquired. Logic and his momma’s relationship was rocky at best, but I thought things were getting better since her last stint in jail.
“Man, fuck her. I’m so tired of her and her raggedy-ass family.
Every time I turn around, somebody is calling with a sob story followed by a request for money.
She’s mad because I let her silly ass stay with me, and she went to the mall and stole a whole bunch of shit and was selling the shit out of my garage.
I’m all for a mothafucka having a side hustle, but she could have done that shit at her sister’s house or something.
“Don’t come to my shit, making the block hot and giving strangers my damn address.
A young bitch pulled up to the house, banging on the door in the middle of the night, talking about she didn’t get her Chanel wallet with her purse.
They got into it, and the next thing I know, they are scrappin’ on my fucking porch.
I’m standing there in my mothafuckin’ drawls looking crazy as hell.
I didn’t know whether to pull out my phone and record or break up the fight. ”
“What did you end up doing?” Keyz asked before I got the chance.
“I recorded the video and put that shit on Worldstar. Dana was giving that young hoe the business, so there was no need in my rushing to jump in. The only reason I intervened was because some Church’s Chicken-built bitch ran out of ol’ girl’s car, ready to jump my momma.
Well, she didn’t run out. It was more like a brisk waddle.
I shoved her heavy-breathing ass out of the way and yanked Dana’s dumb ass off that girl.
“They threatened to call the police, and I told them I would shoot their asses for trespassing. How the fuck are you gonna call the police because you were cheated out of stolen goods? Bitch better charge it to the game.”
Logic casually smoked his blunt while he finished telling us the story. Meanwhile, Keyz and I were howling with laughter.
“Yo, you’re crazy as fuck, but I see where you got it from. She ain’t have to snatch her wig like that, damn.” I chuckled while I watched the video on my phone.
“Man, I was so pissed. I tried to overlook the bullshit, but then I came home early one day, and she had some dirty-looking Mr. Potato Head-looking nigga in my house, eating her pussy on my brand-new couch. I lost my shit and put them both out. She’s been blowing up my phone, talking about she needs her merchandise.
I told her to get it back in blood. Her ass didn’t even have enough sense to steal me a couple of pieces when she was selling out of my mothafuckin’ house. ”
“You ain’t wrong. The least she could have done was copped you a few fits with her five-finger discount.
” I laughed as my phone alerted me to a new notification.
Lyric posted a new video on Instagram, so I clicked on it to see what she was up to.
I smiled when I saw her and my pretty princess wearing matching buns and pink outfits.
