Chapter 30 #2

“It’s a combination of medications. One paralyzes their limbs, and the other one is a form of acid that burns them internally.

Eventually, their organs will all be disintegrated, including their heart and brain.

It’s a very slow and painful process that takes place over a matter of days.

Any toxic screening that is performed will come back as a heroin overdose, and some more advanced tests will show traces of embalming fluid, which a lot of drug addicts dip their cigarettes in, which is why I’m leaving these behind.

He held up two different needles and a half-smoked cigarette and placed them near their bodies.

“Damn, I thought I was cold, but this is some sinister ass shit,” I commented, watching the two of them suffer.

“I’ve always been into science and just graduated from nursing school.

I might be a killer, but at least a nigga has layers.

I started planning this shit the moment I found out what they did to my mother, and now she can rest peacefully.

” Jacq removed his gloves, then collected what appeared to be a medical bag and placed his things inside.

When he finished, he walked closer to us, but his focus was on Keyz.

“East has my contact info if you or Lyric ever want to reach out. I’m glad you’re back home. Congratulations on all of your success.” With that, he nodded and walked out of the house.

I rarely found myself with nothing to say, but I was completely blown away by what I had witnessed. I had every intention of killing them once shit calmed down, but this was far better than a simple bullet to the head.

Keynauri and I stood there for a while longer before he turned and walked out. I was sure it was all too much for him, and I understood that he may have needed a moment. After a few moments, I followed him out of the house and got into my car.

When we finally turned our phones on, our notifications were going crazy.

I thought something serious might have happened since both of our women were in their third trimester, but it turned out they were at his house craving pizza and wings.

After I swapped out cars again, I picked up the ladies’ orders and drove to his place.

We sat in the driveway for a couple of minutes before he said anything.

“Is it fucked up that I’m not sad?”

“No, not at all. Jazzie stopped being a mother the day she chose that pedophile over her children. You’re the one who took care of yourself and your little sister.

She ain’t deserve your loyalty then, and she damn sure doesn’t deserve shit from you now.

What she did to your pops was fucked up, but at least you know the truth.

She was the devil, and you don’t owe her shit. ”

“Yeah, you’re right. I guess in a sense, I have closure. I just didn’t expect things to go this way.”

I understood exactly where he was coming from. Both of us had a fucked up childhood with mothers who wanted to do everything except raise their kids. I had no plans to kill Enoka, but I wouldn’t be sad if something happened to her. I could never have empathy for anyone who abandoned their children.

“You good?” I looked over at Keyz to make sure he was straight.

“Yeah, man. I’m still processing the shit with ol’ boy. I know for a fact Lyric’s sensitive ass is gonna want to get to know him. I’m not against it myself, but it’s a lot to take in,” he admitted.

“Who are you telling? I thought the nigga was tryna step to my girl on some disrespectful shit, and this mothafucka is her biological brother. Gunna tried to tell me he wasn’t on any foul shit, but you know I don’t trust anybody.

Hell, I barely trust my own shadow, and that mothafucka goes everywhere I go. ” I chuckled.

“Damn right. I can’t say much because I still don’t know him, but from what I saw back at the house, I’m intrigued. I might not be in the streets anymore, but he seems like the type you would want on your team. Hell, I definitely wouldn’t want to be on his bad side,” Keynauri joked.

His phone rang, and before I could laugh, Lyric’s contact flashed across my screen.

Keynauri answered first, so I sent Lyric a message to let her know we were on our way inside.

When she texted back, I burst out laughing.

When she was pregnant with Symphonee, she was calm and clingy, but with our son, she was mean and horny as hell.

If I wasn’t fucking her, I was feeding her.

My Lola B: If you don’t love me and your children, just say that.

Me: Never that. I love y’all more than anything in this world.

My Lola B: How do you love me, but you’re holding my wings hostage? Your children and I are about to starve and wither away while you’re gossiping in the car with my brother like Blanche and Rose from The Golden Girls.

Me: Man, gone ahead with all of that. I’m coming, big mama.

Me: And what does your young ass know about The Golden Girls?

My Lola B: I know enough. Now hurry up and bring my food before I post on the stories that I’m hungry and have one of these YNs bring me some food.

Me: You ain’t crazy. I’m on my way though.

Keynauri and I got out of the car and headed inside with the food. Lyric jumped on me as soon as we got into the house and then climbed in my lap once I sat down. I sat back and watched her eat, thanking God she was in better spirits these days.

After Shaylyn passed away, Lyric slipped into a dark place.

Every day, I would hear her sobbing in the bathroom when she thought everyone else was asleep.

Her nightmares had gotten so bad to the point that I called her therapist to make a house call.

I was worried about her, especially since she was carrying my seed.

It took months, but she was finally back to being her old self, smiling and laughing again.

I was grateful for Ari, Nova, Summyah, and Kiara because they all checked in on her and would force her out of the house to go shopping or have girl time.

We were truly blessed to have people in our lives who cared about us and wanted to see us win.

“Damn, I bought the food, and you ain’t even offer your man a wing or nothing.” I frowned, pretending to be upset.

“I’m sorry, baby. I was so hungry I couldn’t think straight. You know I’m building a whole human from scratch,” she whined with her lip poked out. I chuckled, wiping the leftover pizza sauce from her cheek.

“You know I’m only playing. I’m glad you and my baby are satisfied.” I kissed her lips, admiring her gorgeous face. Pregnancy only enhanced her beauty, and I couldn’t keep my hands off her.

After we all finished eating and relaxing, Keynauri and Ari retired to their room.

Noodle was in her own room upstairs, so I decided to take Lyric to our room for some alone time.

We showered together and shared parts of our day.

Of course, I left out some important details since I wasn’t sure if I wanted to share them yet.

Eventually, she would find out about her aunt and mother, but I decided to enjoy the night for what it was.

I made love to Lyric throughout the night, telling her over and over how much I loved her and how I would always be in her corner. There was one more person I needed to handle. After that, we were leaving the past right where it needed to be.
