OAKLYN brIDGES

Waking up on Jasoni’s chest was the best way to start the day, so much so that by the time I opened my eyes, I felt like it was my birthday too.

Slowly lifting my head, I rested my chin on his chest while studying his handsome face.

I’d never met a man who could look fierce even while sleeping, but it was the tick in his jaw that made me even more infatuated with him.

I began to place soft kisses over his chest, which stirred him awake. I smiled, seeing his eyes flutter open. Sitting up, I leaned over him to say, “Happy birthday, Soni.”

He blessed me with his smile, and for a moment, I forgot how to breathe. “Thank you,” he said with a voice so low it was evident he’d just woken up.

I folded my hands together on his chest and rested my chin on it. “How do you feel? You’re officially in your thirties.”

His arm that was wrapped around me tightened before he began to massage my ass cheeks. “I feel blessed. Can’t ask for much else.”

I tilted my head to the side, studying him. “Not even roseberry cake?”

I hissed from the hard smack he applied to my ass. “Oh, we cool enough for you to make my cake now, huh? Was it my tongue in your ass that convinced you?”

Hiding my face in my hands, I refused to give him my eyes.

I couldn’t lie like that hadn’t played a part in my decision-making.

But it wasn’t just that. It was the culmination of heartfelt confessions, heated glances, and comforting touches over the last few days.

I hadn’t come into this trip with any true expectations.

It seemed the universe had other plans, because the hate I thought I had for Jasoni was very much becoming something softer and unwilling to be tamed.

“You get on my nerves,” I fussed. I tried to rush to get up from the bed, but he was quicker and wrapped his other arm around me to lock me in place.

“Look at me.” Slowly, I lifted my head to give him my eyes.

The joy I saw swirling in his brown irises made me melt into him.

I couldn’t explain what was happening right now, because everything melted away except for him.

For a while, neither of us said anything.

His fingers softly traced over my facial features, leaving a trail of goosebumps behind.

“Give me a kiss,” he ordered in a tone that left no room for discussion.

Only with Jasoni could I be so obedient. My lips clashed into his, and fire raced through every blood vessel I had. By the time we pulled away, we were both heaving like we’d run a marathon. “I missed you so fucking much,” he admitted, voice raw and full of sincerity.

“I missed you too.” My voice was shaky, revealing how I was seconds away from crying. Not because I was angry or upset, but I couldn’t believe we were able to be so vulnerable with one another. Sniffling, I poked out my bottom lip and said, “Let me get up so I can start on your cake.”

“Can I get some pussy before you go?”

I mushed his head to the side. “You’re mannish as hell.”

He maneuvered me so that I was straddling him.

I didn’t fight against it, because we both knew my body was calling for him.

My nipples pressed into his firm chest when he sat up and wrapped me in a warm embrace.

I could feel his hardness beneath me and began to wind my hips, teasing my clit to the point I almost came off the friction alone.

I moaned, tossing my head back.

“It’s your fault I can’t get enough of you.”

I laughed through the pleasure, feeling him maneuver his tip at my opening. “How is it my fault?”

“Because you forced me to be your friend. Forced me to develop feelings for you I was always too afraid to admit until it made it hard to breathe. You forced me to be jealous every time I saw you breathing the same air as another man on TV. It’s all your fault, and now you have to pay for that.”

By the time he finished talking, I was seated on his dick. We moaned in tandem, both tightening our grips on each other. Slowly, I began to rotate my hips, enjoying every delicious second he was deep inside of me. He wrapped my hair around his hand and forced my head backward.

His lips went to my neck, where he suckled on my skin as if it could produce something to quench his thirst. The fire in my core began to churn hotter, which only encouraged me to quicken my pace.

I bounced on his lap, and his grip around my waist tightened to the point he was meeting my movements with forceful thrusts of his own.

Before I knew it, I was falling off the cliff of ecstasy.

Hearing Jasoni’s moans sent a shockwave of tremors through me.

Our lips clashed together in a frenzied kiss that we fed our heavy breaths.

Droplets of sweat raced down both of our chests when we released each other.

Jasoni leaned against the headboard with a satisfied grin.

I flopped forward, resting against him to catch my breath.

“Best birthday ever,” Jasoni joked with a chortle.

I could only produce a smile because I was still floating in Lalaland. He began to trace a line down my spine that nearly convinced me there was a sedative in the tips of his fingers. Feeling comfortable, warm, and safe in his arms, I found myself drifting right back to sleep.

When I woke back up a little later, I knew it was time to get started on his cake.

I wasn’t sure if I had everything I needed, and if I had to run to the store, I would rather get it out of the way.

I was able to maneuver myself out of his arms after a few tries.

Leaving a snoring Jasoni behind in the bed, I quickly dressed in my clothes and tiptoed to the door.

I did my best to silently open the door and close it back in the same manner.

Except when I turned around, I spotted Journi down the hall, doing the same thing.

She noticed me and whispered my name before I had the chance to slip back into his room.

Since there was no point in hiding now, I raced down the hall and stairs to my room.

Before I could close the door, she slid inside with the biggest grin on her face.

“Well, good morning to you.” She stepped forward and ruffled my hair. “Somebody had a time last night.”

I walked over to the mirror to see what she was talking about and realized my hair was a complete mess.

I looked just like that Whitney Houston meme, but you know what?

I had no fucking regrets. I slapped a hand over my mouth to contain my laughter.

Walking over to the bed, I flopped face first on it to hide the blush on my cheeks.

I felt it dip down from Journi joining me on the bed. “Sooooooo, you and my brother?” she asked, rocking me back and forth until I turned over.

I bit down on my bottom lip, trying to hide my smile, but it was useless. “Yes. How do you feel about that?”

She clapped her hands together excitedly.

“Girl, I love it. I’ve always known there was a little more than friendship between the two of y’all, and this just proves me right.

After what he went through with that Claudette bitch, he needs to be loved properly.

” She took my hands in hers and added, “And you do too. You literally never give niggas the time of day.”

I released a shaky breath. “I did not see this coming, Nini, but I don’t know. Everything feels right when I’m around him.”

She gushed beside me, lying down to face me with her head propped up on her hand.

“Okay, so like, you have to tell me everything, and don’t leave out a detail.

” She twisted her lips to the side and shook her head.

“Well, maybe leave some details out because that’s still my brother, and eeeyuck.

Just tell me when you stopped hating him. ”

I giggled with a sigh. Staring up at the ceiling, I gave her the run-down of the last few days snowed in the cabin with Jasoni—from the arguments to his apology that bulldozed through the wall of ice around my heart.

“I should’ve known he had ulterior motives for coming here, but I didn’t know he was plotting on you like that. He said, I’ll be damned if I’m leaving this cabin without her.”

I tapped my fingertips together. “I was a goner since the Truth or Dare game. He played his cards well, and now he got the world’s best prize there is.”

“Say that again, bestie!” she hyped me up. “So, now what?”

I sighed then turned to look at her. “Now, I’m going to take a shower then go bake this man a cake for his birthday.”

She shook her head. “Not this man but your man.”

I couldn’t even reply, because the flutters in the pit of my stomach were proof that my feelings were very clear. We hadn’t officially established anything, but I could see it happening before we left the cabin. For some reason, the possibility gave me a burst of energy to get the day started.
