Sabs

When Adler bites me, an orgasm tears through my body like the most intense, pleasurable volcano erupting. The sharp sensation of his teeth breaking my skin meets the shooting warmth that’s growing between my legs, spreading through my limbs and consuming me in total euphoria.

Him locking has me feeling fuller than I ever have before, stretching my pussy to the max as he fills me so completely. I unravel in an out-of-body experience, his zesty scent grounding me is all that confirms that this is actually happening.

My pussy quakes, convulsing while dousing his knot in my slick. Somehow, a hot flood of liquid manages to escape, dripping over his balls and down my ass, soaking the sheets beneath us, but I feel too good to care.

All that matters is the two of us. I can feel his pleasure too in an overwhelming, possessive rush.

I grip his shoulders, clinging on as I squeeze my thighs tight around him, rocking together in this incredible sensation for what feels like forever.

Our bodies are a quivering, sweaty mass of limbs, totally spent.

After he collapses on top of me from the exertion, all that punctuates the heavy silence is our short, shallow breaths while we stay locked together.

I’m completely blissed out and boneless when suddenly, I’m dragged back to reality with a jaw-dropping thud.

That wasn’t just the best orgasm I’ve ever had nor the ultimate pleasurable relief I’ve been craving for what feels like forever.

What just happened was… so much more than that.

But how? I only met this alpha hours ago.

Panic engulfs me, my throat constricting. But before I can react, I realize it’s not only my emotions I’m feeling. Confusion, anger, disappointment, and fear roll through me like a maelstrom.

“Sabs…” Adler props himself up on his elbows, peering down at me with wide-eyed concern. His perfect, chiseled face and easygoing expression are gone, his features morphed by utter anguish.

He’s not looking at my face, though. No, he’s fixated on my neck.

With trembling fingers, I raise my hand to touch the spot he can’t look away from, hoping that I’m wrong.

Hoping that this is just a bad dream. Hoping that this didn’t just happen.

But I can feel them—teeth-mark indentations in my skin that confirm that this did happen.

Arm shaking, I pull my hand back, seeing a drop of blood on my finger.

My stomach drops, all doubt evaporating. How can one split second change the course of the rest of my life?

“You…” Before I can say anything else, Adler’s emotions slam into me harder than a jump topspin serve.

“I’m so, so sorry, Sabs.” He’s genuinely distraught.

I can feel it. The guilt is overwhelming.

We’re still locked together, which feels ironic, comforting, and trapping all at once.

His knot shudders, causing a tremor of involuntary pleasure to roll through me that makes my toes curl, despite my growing dread. “I didn’t… I shouldn’t…”

I’ve read the statistics on accidental bondings.

It’s something omegas are always reminded of.

I’ve lost track of the number of classes I’ve sat through, detailing the horrors and risks of such a thing happening.

Between modern heat suppressants and all the other countermeasures omegas can take, instances are rarer than they used to be.

I never imagined I’d become one of those statistics.

I’ve never had any problems with alphas or having casual sex before, yet admittedly, being with Adler had felt… different. His scent drove me wild, the feelings so intense, and my body couldn’t get enough of him. I cringe inwardly, reminded of what I said.

I asked him to claim me.

I’m as much to blame as he is.

Saying that was like waving a red flag at a bull.

“I’m so sorry.” His tan cheeks have gone pale. “I… I lost control.”

“It’s okay.” It’s absolutely not okay, and this is a shit-show of massive proportions, but I’m not going to catastrophize right now. “Well, I mean, it’s not okay. Obviously. But it’s not your fault. Well, not entirely your fault. I asked you to.”

I can visualize my mom and dad’s faces—their utter horror at learning that their only daughter has bonded with a hockey player she just met. A hockey player with a playboy reputation, no less.

“It was an accident. You felt so good, and when you said… I don’t know what came over me. My body reacted without thinking. My inner alpha took control.” He’s shaking. “I’m so fucking sorry.”

His knot unlocks uncharacteristically early for an alpha, presumably from the shock of the situation.

“I know,” I murmur. “I can feel it.”

“It’s going to be okay.” I’m not sure whether he’s trying to convince me or himself more as he pulls me into his chest and his strong arms close around me.

Despite my rising panic at our new reality, his touch still brings me comfort. His thudding heart against my cheek sends a wave of calm rushing through me as he clings on tighter. Being with him, here in his arms, feels so right, but…

“What are we going to do?”

“I’ll stand by you, Sabs. You’re my omega now.” He gulps. “We’re bonded.” Although his voice is strong, there’s still a hint of disbelief in his tone.

“Maybe there’s something we could do to reverse it?” I mumble, even though I know it’s pointless.

Bonding is irreversible. Doctors have gotten closer to making medication that might make parting more bearable, but nothing can break the bond.

That’s why the decision to bond is so important.

This isn’t like a marriage that can be easily ended by signing a paper.

It’s a lifetime commitment—one that can never be severed—and I’ve just tied myself to the SVU Foxes team captain, Adler Ace, for the rest of my life.

Apart from the fact that he has a panty-melting smile, the body of a Greek god, and gives great head, I know virtually zilch about the man I’m now tethered to, or his pack. A pack that I’ve never met yet am also going to be stuck with forever.

“What will your pack think?”

“I mean, we’ll have to tell them.” His voice trembles slightly. “But don’t worry about that right now. I’m sure they’ll love you. In fact, I know they will.”

“How can you know that?” I pull away from him and sit up, drawing my knees up to my naked chest. “You don’t even know me! I could be a psycho bitch for all you know.”

“I may not know you well yet, but I’m a good judge of character.

” He strokes my cheek. The brush of his fingers across my skin feels incredible, almost making me believe that everything will be okay.

“I saw you play volleyball. You don’t strike me as someone who gives up easily or backs down.

Whatever happens, we’ll get through it together. ”

“Together,” I murmur.

Because we have no other choice.

“I’m not going anywhere, firecracker,” Adler insists.

I don’t know whether it’s our sudden bond, but being in his presence brings me a sense of safety and possibility.

Like we can accomplish anything, which is crazy considering the predicament we’re in and how we’re still strangers.

“I mean it. Whether my pack accepts you or not, I’m all in. You’re it for me.”

“You’d walk away from your pack?” My mouth hangs open. “For me?”

“You’re my number one priority now,” he answers with zero hesitation.

“Contrary to popular belief, I’m not an asshole.

I bit you. Although this wasn’t planned, I’m going to treat you how an omega deserves to be treated.

This doesn’t have to be any different from a real bond, if we don’t want it to be. ”

“But this is fucking insane.” I dig the heels of my palms into my eyes. “How are we supposed to explain this mistake to people? How am I supposed to explain this to my family?”

“Uh…” I can literally feel his nervousness. Bonding doesn’t only affect us but everyone we care about and love. “What is your family like?”

“I have three very protective older brothers and three alpha dads.”

Adler’s confidence seems to dwindle, then he jokes, “How screwed am I on a rating of one to ten?”

“Probably ten thousand.” I let out a weak laugh. As much as I’m freaking out, light-hearted humor is helping. “But one of my dads does like hockey, so you may have an inroad there.”

“Great, so I only have the other five to win over.” He wraps his arms around me again, and I snuggle up against him, tucking my head under his chin.

“It’ll be okay. We don’t have to worry about any of that right now.

” Is it normal to feel so at home like this straight after bonding?

“Everything will work out. I promise. Let’s just take one day at a time. ”

I nod shakily, though I don’t know if anything will ever be okay again. The man who has suddenly become my everything is still a stranger to me.

“Come lie down.” He tenderly helps me under the covers. I’m freaking out too much to even think about moving. “Let’s try to get some rest, okay?”

Falling asleep in his arms after something like this happening shouldn’t be easy, but just like everything with Adler, it is.
