12. Octavio
TWELVE
OCTAVIO
The crackling of the fire and the scent of wood smoke filled the air as we gathered around the barbecue pit at the World Walker Pack’s cabin. Irina’s laughter floated on the breeze, her smile lighting up the night as she chatted animatedly with the other members of the pack. It was nice to see her smiling again even in the face of adversity. Although it helped that Jesse had some of his men keeping an eye on her mother so we could have a break tonight.
It was something we all desperately needed.
I couldn’t help but feel a swell of pride as I watched her interact with everyone, her warmth and kindness drawing them in like moths to a flame. It was clear that they liked her, that she had effortlessly woven herself into the fabric of our tight knit community. Thank goodness, because we were all putting so much on the line for her. It helped that she was well respected.
Introducing her to the pack had been a risk, just in case it changed everything, but one that had paid off in spades. From the moment she arrived, they had welcomed her with open arms, treating her like one of us. And as I watched her laugh and joke with them, I knew that she belonged here, with us.
As the night wore on, we sat around the fire, sharing stories and laughter as we enjoyed the simple pleasure of each other’s company. Irina’s presence had brought a sense of warmth and light to our gathering, her infectious energy lifting our spirits and filling the night with joy.
And as I looked around at the faces of my pack, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for their acceptance of Irina. She had become more than just my mate—she was a beloved member of our family, her presence bringing us closer together in ways I never thought possible.
For a while, I observed Irina and Ratty conversing, and a sense of relief washed over me. Ratty had a knack for putting people at ease, and Irina seemed to be genuinely enjoying their conversation. Their laughter filled the air, mingling with the comforting scent of old books that permeated the air.
But afterwards as Carolyn took up Irina’s time and Ratty pulled me aside, a serious expression settled over her features, and I couldn’t help but feel a flicker of concern. The tension hung heavy in the air, and I braced myself for whatever she was about to say.
“Octavio,” she began, her voice low and urgent. “Irina is perfect for you, there’s no denying that. But there’s also a risk. I can’t forget that, however much I enjoy having her around. We all like seeing you this happy, but we have to always be aware that she will always be an issue.”
Her words hit me like a punch to the gut, and I felt a surge of anxiety knotting in the pit of my stomach. I knew that Ratty wouldn’t say something like that lightly, and her concern only heightened my own apprehension.
“What do you mean?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Ratty’s gaze softened, a mixture of sympathy and determination shining in her eyes.
“Irina may be everything you’ve ever wanted,” she explained, her tone gentle but firm. “But she’s also Russian royalty. That isn’t going away. Even if the Bratva don’t come for us now, they still might. All the Russians will see her as the perfect mate. One they all want to get their hands on.”
“Yeah… you’re right. But I can’t help it. I can’t help that I’ve fallen for the one person I shouldn’t have.”
“I guess that’s how love works. But you do need to be careful.”
A chill ran down my spine at her words, the gravity of the situation weighing heavily on my mind. I knew that Ratty was right—Irina’s past was a cause for concern, and the thought of the dangers it could bring sent a shiver of fear coursing through me. I wouldn’t be able to relax with her. Not at all.
But even as my mind raced with uncertainty, I couldn’t shake the feeling that Irina was worth the risk. Her presence had brought a lightness to my life that I hadn’t known before, and the thought of losing her was more terrifying than any threat we might face.
I needed her in my life far more than any Russian did.
“I know,” I replied, my voice tinged with resignation. “But she’s worth it, Ratty. Whatever challenges lie ahead, I’ll face them head on. I won’t let anything happen to her.”
Ratty nodded, her expression softening with understanding.
“I know you will, Octavio,” she said, her voice filled with conviction. “Just be careful, okay? We’re all counting on you.”
As the evening wore on and the chatter around us slowly faded into the background, Irina and I found ourselves lost in a conversation that felt like it held the weight of the world. The warmth of the fire bathed us in its gentle glow, casting flickering shadows across Irina’s face as she spoke.
“Octavio,” she began, her voice soft and tentative. “I never thought I’d say this, but... I’ve actually been thinking about our future.”
Her words hung in the air, and I could sense the vulnerability behind them, the hesitance in her voice betraying the depth of her emotions. It was a rare glimpse into the inner workings of her heart, and I felt a surge of tenderness wash over me as I listened.
“Irina,” I replied, reaching out to gently squeeze her hand. “What do you mean?”
She took a deep breath, her eyes meeting mine with a mixture of fear and hope.
“I mean... I never thought I’d find someone like you,” she admitted, her voice trembling slightly. “Someone who makes me feel safe, who makes me believe that happiness is possible. I didn’t come here thinking that I would find someone I would come to like as much as I do you. It was supposed to just be a fresh start, with me and Mom keeping everyone at arm’s length. But instead, I’ve found a family here, and a man that I actually want a future with.”
Her words hit me like a revelation, and I felt a lump form in my throat as I realized the significance of what she was saying. Irina had never allowed herself to dream of a future filled with love and happiness, and the fact that she was considering it now spoke volumes about the depth of her feelings for me.
“Irina,” I whispered, my voice thick with emotion. “I feel the same way. I’ve never met anyone like you, someone who makes me want to be a better man, who fills my heart with hope and joy. I want us to have a future too.”
As our eyes met, a silent understanding passed between us, a shared recognition of the love that bound us together. In that moment, I knew that no matter what trials lay ahead, we would face them together, united in our commitment to build a future filled with love and happiness.
And as we sat there, lost in each other’s embrace, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of gratitude for the woman beside me, for the love that had blossomed between us against all odds. For in the end, it was our shared dreams and aspirations that would guide us forward, leading us toward a future filled with endless possibilities.
As the night grew late and the fire crackled softly beside us, I found myself unable to resist the magnetic pull drawing me toward Irina. With a tender smile, I leaned in and brushed my lips against hers, savoring the sweetness of her kiss as it sent a surge of warmth coursing through me.
Irina’s response was immediate and eager, her arms wrapping around me as she melted into the embrace. It was as if the world around us had faded into the background, leaving only the two of us intertwined in a moment of pure bliss.
With a gentle touch, I guided Irina toward my cabin, the soft glow of the fire light illuminating our path as we crossed the threshold. The air was filled with a sense of anticipation, a silent promise of the passion that awaited us behind closed doors.
As we stepped inside, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement coursing through me. This was more than just a physical connection—it was a culmination of the love and longing that had been building between us since the moment we met.
With each step, the distance between us narrowed until we were mere inches apart, our breath mingling in the space between us. And as I gazed into Irina’s eyes, I knew that this was where I was meant to be—here, with her, in this moment of perfect intimacy.
With a gentle caress, I cupped Irina’s face in my hands, savoring the warmth of her skin beneath my touch. And as our lips met in a passionate embrace, I felt a surge of emotion wash over me, the sheer intensity of our connection leaving me breathless with desire.
In that moment, there was no past, no future—only the present, and the overwhelming love that bound us together. And as we surrendered to the passion that consumed us, I knew that this was just the beginning of our journey together, a journey filled with love, laughter, and endless possibilities.
I took her hand in mine, leading the way once more, and as soon as I threw her on the bed, we both collapsed in near hysterical giggles. Irina wasted no time, her hands exploring my body with fervor, driving me damn near insane. The romance quickly turned to intense desire, as it always did with me and Irina. Which had my heart thundering with need.
Hovering over her, I peppered kisses all over her face and neck, reveling in her messy carefree appearance. To my surprise, she grabbed hold of me in a very sexy, confident manner, dipping her hand into my underwear, and running her hands all over my length.
“Fuck,” she murmured, tossing her head backwards in ecstasy. “I keep forgetting how big you are!”
Well, what guy doesn’t get freakishly aroused by being told that? Her words drove me far too close to the edge of oblivion. “Why don’t you have a taste?” I heard myself asking, and without even giving me a second to go over this statement in my mind, Irina flipped me over onto my back and started to run her lips all over my body.
I began to tremble—every damn inch of me—with anticipation. That long, blonde hair spread across my stomach as her mouth got nearer and nearer to my desperately needy cock. I had to grip on to the sheets beneath me to stop myself from grabbing her head and getting her down there as she teased. It took everything inside me not to damn well lose my mind.
My patience was worth it, though, because as those lips finally wrapped around me, and she started moving her mouth down my shaft to the base, I screamed out in joy. She really was tasting all of me, until every last inch of me hit the back of her throat.
“Fucking hell,” I yelled, as every muscle inside my body tensed. “Irina, you’re killing me. You’re going to have to stop in a minute.”
My breaths became labored as I started to creep slowly towards that hot pool of desire, and as much as I wanted to simply succumb and let it happen, I needed to get a good feel of Irina’s body, too. It might not have been long since I last got my chance to play with her, but in the heat of the moment, it felt like forever.
I forced myself to sit up and I dragged Irina up to me, kissing her with the deep, intense passion that she had coursing through my veins. As she moved closer to straddle me, I ran one hand over her breast, flicking her nipple between my fingers, and I used the other hand to massage her hot, wet desire.
“Oh my God,” she cried out, arching her back against me, and lolling her head to one side. “Fucking hell Octavio.”
“So wet,” I whispered excitedly against her. “So wet... just for me.”
I then refocused my attention on giving her pleasure and I started to tease her entrance with my cock, allowing her to feel just how pulsating I was for her.
“You want this, Irina?” I asked her mockingly, watching her writhe with desire. It was fun to add a bit of dirty talk into the mix. Every experience with Irina was a different one, and I loved pushing the boundaries with her. “You need me to fuck you?”
“I want you to take me so hard and fast,” she confirmed in a breathy, gasping voice. “I want you to drive me wild with that magnificent cock of yours.”
Those words were enough for me to plunge deep into her, finally feeling everything, and, fuck me, that body of hers was so damn impressive. She was so tight around me, she fit me like a glove, and that left me grunting and guttural, awakening the animal inside me.
“Oh shit,” Irina screamed, riding me hard. “Oh fucking hell Octavio.”
I couldn’t take it, I couldn’t stand having none of the control, so in a crazy, speedy gesture, I flipped her around until she was on all fours on the bed, pointing that fantastic round ass in my direction. I plunged into her quickly, and rammed hard against her so passionately that she needed to grip onto the head board to stop herself from banging her head. She was dripping wet for me, proving just how much she was enjoying it, and that only got worse as I leaned forward and thumbed her clit too.
“Holy fuck,” she screamed as her walls contracted around me. The orgasm was creeping through her body, making her feel tingly and amazing, and I wanted to prolong that for as long as possible. So I thrust a little slower, and played with her a little more gently, just making her wait a few extra seconds to get that release.
But that short time must have felt like a lifetime to her, because she went crazy with frustration. I knew the feeling well, and it was easy to go insane with it, but it was always worth it in the end because the final result would be a longer, more intense orgasm...
As the waves of pleasure shattered through her body, she cried out my name, thinking only of me, and that soon caused the bliss to explode from my body too, over and over again until I could take it no more.
“Fuck Octavio,” Irina gasped as I slid out of her and we collapsed on the bed side by side. “That was... that was fucking amazing.”
I turned to face her, feeling my heart swell with emotions that I really shouldn’t have been feeling. A big part of me wanted to tell her exactly how I was feeling, but there was a niggling doubt within me that she might run for the hills if I came on too strong. She was a tough chick, one that had been through a lot, and I didn’t want to make life worse for her by piling on the pressure.
“You’re amazing,” I said instead. “Thank you for coming out with me tonight. I had a wonderful time.”
“Me too,” she assured me, turning back to face me. She sent me the sweetest smile ever, and ran her fingers down my cheeks, which sent a wave of fatigue racing through me. I wanted to stay awake, to hold her in my arms, to chat and learn more about her all night long, but sleep was rapidly coming for me, and there wasn’t a damn thing I could do about it...
The gentle hum of activity in the shop filled the air as I worked alongside Irina, the familiar rhythm of our tasks lulling me in to a sense of contentment. Despite the lingering tension from Brian’s recent visit, I found solace in the routine of our daily duties, grateful for the opportunity to lose myself in the mundane.
But just as I began to relax in to the familiarity of our surroundings, a sudden intrusion shattered the tranquility, sending a shiver down my spine. My muscles tensed involuntarily as the unwelcome sound of a familiar voice reached my ears, piercing through the calm like a knife.
Irina glanced up at me, a look of concern flashing across her features as she followed my gaze to the source of the disturbance. With a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, I turned to see Brian striding confidently into the shop, his presence casting a shadow over the warmth of the room.
What the hell was that asshole doing back here?
My jaw clenched with suppressed anger as I watched him approach, his smug demeanor sending a surge of irritation coursing through my veins. I could feel Irina’s hand tighten around mine, her silent support offering a small measure of comfort amidst the storm brewing within me.
The air turned tense as soon as Brian sauntered to the counter, his smug demeanor immediately putting me on edge. His presence alone was enough to set off alarms in my mind, and the words that followed only confirmed my worst fears.
“What do you want, Brian?” I asked, trying to keep my tone neutral despite the unease creeping in to my voice.
Brian grinned, a smug expression playing on his lips as he approached me. “Oh, nothing much, Octavio,” he replied, his voice dripping with satisfaction. “Just thought you might want to know that your little investigation into Irina hasn’t gone unnoticed.”
My heart skipped a beat at his words, a sinking feeling settling in the pit of my stomach. I knew that meddling with the Bratva was a dangerous game, and the thought of them being aware of our inquiries filled me with a sense of dread.
“And what exactly did you find out?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady despite the rising panic.
Brian chuckled darkly, relishing in his moment of triumph. “Let’s just say the Bratva is offering quite the reward for information on Irina’s whereabouts,” he replied, a cruel smile playing on his lips.
I clenched my jaw, my fists tightening at my sides as anger surged through me. The Bratva was not an enemy to be taken lightly, and the thought of them hunting Irina sent a wave of protective instinct coursing through me.
“Get to the point, Brian,” I growled, my patience wearing thin with each passing second.
Brian’s smile widened, knowing he had me right where he wanted me. “Simple, really,” he said, his voice oozing with malice. “You pay me twice what the Bratva is offering, and I’ll keep my mouth shut. Otherwise, well, let’s just say things could get very messy for you and your little mate.”
My blood boiled at his words, fury coursing through me like wildfire. How dare he threaten Irina, how dare he try to extort money from me to protect her.
“Get the fuck out of my shop, Brian,” I snarled, my voice low and dangerous. “And if I ever catch wind of you so much as breathing Irina’s name again, I’ll make sure you regret it. I do not know why you are still here, to be honest. If it were up to me, you wouldn’t be allowed in this town again. Don’t forget that I’m friends with James and he listens to me. You might not be around here for much longer.”
Brian’s grin faltered for a moment, replaced by a flicker of uncertainty as he realized he had pushed too far. But he quickly regained his composure, straightening up to his full height as he met my gaze with a defiant glare.
“You’ll regret this, Octavio,” he spat, his voice laced with venom. “You and your little mate both. No one gets away with talking to me like that.”
Every fiber of my being screamed at me to lash out, to put him in his place, once and for all. But I knew that violence would only escalate the situation further, playing right into his hands.
Summoning every ounce of willpower I possessed, I rose from my seat, towering over Brian with a new found sense of resolve. I wanted him to see just how serious I was. He wasn’t going to fuck around with me, and he certainly wasn’t about to mess with Irina.
The air crackled with tension as Brian weighed his options, his gaze flickering between me and the exit. For a moment, it seemed as though he might push back, might refuse to yield to my demands. But then, with a defeated slump of his shoulders, he begrudgingly acquiesced, muttering curses under his breath as he made for the exit.
I grabbed hold of Irina and held her tight, silently letting her know that just because it felt like the walls were closing in around her, didn’t mean I would actually let that happen.
“It’s really going to happen, isn’t it?” she murmured against my chest. “My father really is going to find me here eventually. I can’t escape him ever.”
I didn’t have a solid answer for her, much as I wanted one, so I continued to hold her close, silently letting her know that I was here for her, and that was all that really mattered. We would face this as a team no matter what happened. She would escape him. Someday, somehow, I would make sure of that.
