Chapter 7 #2

Instead, he leads me directly into one of the executive rooms. His room. His private room is two floors above the party and away from the crowds of people. I’m caught a little off guard, but I don’t want to come off as rude. He motions for me to sit on his bed with him.

So I do.

As I sit down, he grabs me by either side of my hips and brings me to his lap, where I immediately feel his hardness through his pants.

The horror must have blanketed my face as he laughs and says, “Oh, you must be a virgin.”

I am.

I realize that I didn’t put any boy shorts under my skirt, so the only thing separating me from him are a couple of thin layers of fabric.

I try to squirm from his hold, but he starts to rock me against himself, moaning along, trying to coax me to relax.

But I don’t relax. I keep squirming and trying to push myself off of him.

He doesn’t relent and instead flips me around so my back is on his bed, and he’s hovering over me.

His wide chest puts me in a panic as I’m caged in. Thoughts race through my head.

Any girl would kill for his attention.

Shouldn’t I love this?

Isn’t this what I want?

A hot guy to find me attractive and make a move on me?

Except I don’t feel that way. I feel gross and violated and desperate to be anywhere but this bedroom.

In one panicked move, I scrunch my knees up and kick my feet against his chest, separating him from me.

He cursed several profanities as he stumbled back to the other side of the bed.

But I’m able to roll away and run to the door.

I reach the hallway, and it’s the most beautiful hallway I’ve ever seen.

I never thought I’d get to see a hallway ever again.

I thought I’d be in that room, trapped under him forever.

I sprint down the stairs and hear the door close behind me.

He’s following behind me fast. I quickly try to find Chloe and spot her drinking beer with Isaac and a few of his frat brothers.

She sees my pleading eyes and rushes to my side.

I’m about to tell her what happened when Trey appears behind me, reaching his arm across my waist. I immediately jolt away and push him off.

“Ahahaha, you crazy girl,” he says as he smacks my ass.

I grab Chloe and leave the house immediately. Ten minutes, that’s as long as we were in there. In the Uber, I broke down in tears, telling her everything.

A hand on my shoulder transports me back to reality, and I realize I’m breathing irregularly.

Once I see the hand on my shoulder belongs to Trey, I step back a foot and give him a glare.

It’s only been a few months since that incident so I’ve attended the self-defense classes the college offers, and I’ve developed a sharp tongue.

But still, the hurt and the anxiety of his presence make me tense in place.

I didn’t report it because nothing happened.

Or I guess something did happen, but I’ve convinced myself that no one would care.

I was wearing a short skirt, and people would say I was asking for it.

I was asking for a twenty-year-old guy to take advantage of a seventeen-year-old girl.

“Hey, sweetheart, it’s been too long since I’ve seen your rosy cheeks around here. We should really rekindle our spark. You can make it up to me,” he says while moving a strand of hair away from my face.

Stupid hair that never stays in place. I suddenly feel the need to shower away his touch.

“We never had a spark, Trey. You just forced yourself on me.”

He finds my statement amusing because his smile rises, and a breathy chuckle comes out of his mouth.

He steps forward, reaching for my arm, but I step back and knock into someone behind me.

I realize I made him spill his drink on his shirt.

I’m about to apologize profusely until I realize who I bumped into.

I’d never forget those green multicolored eyes swirled around like marbles.

Shining and twinkling with each blink. The tan skin spreads across his nose because he spends too much time outside and doesn’t wear a strong enough SPF.

His pine tree and musk smell comforts me and transports me to a safe place.

I could never forget Reid Parker. And right now, even though he’s the reason I swore off love at age 12, he might also be the thing to save me from the wrath of Trey.

Reid turns around with his bushy eyebrows scrunched like he’s annoyed by my presence. He meets my eyes, and his irritated expression seems to wash away.

“Honey,” I say dramatically. “There you are. Oops, I didn’t mean to spill your drink. Let’s get you another.”

I sense Reid is picking up on the way my eyes are boring into him, trying to tell him to play long.

He seems to get it because he responds with a soft shrug, “Oh, hun, it’s all right. This beer sucks anyway. Do you think there’s any watermelon La Croix left?” I nearly swoon that he would pick the same flavor. What is going on with me right now? I must be off my game because of Trey.

Reid looks over at Trey, extending his hand, and says, “Hey man, I’m Reid, this cutie’s boyfriend. If she’s not causing you trouble, we’ll be heading to the fridge.”

Trey shakes his hand, narrowing his gaze between me and Reid, not completely believing us, but I can tell he’s losing interest.

“See ya, sweetheart. I’m sure our paths will cross again.” And he turns away, but not before giving my ass a squeeze.

Scum of the earth. Great, now I have to burn my shorts.

I grin at Reid, trying not to look into his eyes in fear I’ll be hypnotized. “Hey, sorry, and thank you and sorry.”

I can feel his gaze across my face, scanning my features. He tilts his head as he looks at me like he’s trying to solve a riddle about my eyes and lips. “I know you, don’t I?”

“Ya, I’m your girlfriend, duh,” I joke terribly and nudge his side with my elbow.

He smiles back at me, the corners of his eyes curling up with the corners of his mouth just like they did when we were kids. Oh god, I’m weak.

“Hahaha, no, no, we went to school together, wait, it will come to me….Anni? Right? It’s me, Reid. Reid Parker.”

Oh, I know who you are.

I nearly melt into a puddle at the fact that he not only remembers my name but my nickname. I shake an embarrassing grin across my face and nod.

“Yeah, it’s me, Anni…or Annika. I go by either, really,” I say, avoiding looking him in the eyes.

“Wow, you look so different but also the same. You have the same haircut,” he says as he takes a finger and runs it along the bottom of my hair, flipping it out when he gets to the end.
