Aubrey #2
Ronnie watches me, waiting for me to deny it, but I don’t because it’s the truth.
I feel like the further along I get into this pregnancy, the more I crave sex.
It doesn’t even need to be actual intercourse.
I just want to get all hot and bothered, and then have Shane settle my ache even if it’s just with his hands.
“Oh wow, she’s not denying it. Okay so, what are you going to do about it?”
“Well, it’s not like I can really do anything about it. All your men are on their way home, while mine is still stuck at work!” I say, irritated.
“You could always surprise him at work and have a bit of naughty time in his office. I’m sure Shane wouldn’t be opposed to that,” Emma suggests with a mischievous smirk.
“And what if he’s busy? He doesn’t always sit around at his desk all day.”
“Then you wait in his office like the patient little girl you are, well, used to be. And when he walks in, you spread those pretty legs open and tell him to fuck you.” Ronnie grins widely—it’s almost scary.
I flush scarlet red. “I… I can’t do that!”
“Sure, you can.” Emma pats my leg. “Men love being told what to do, certainly when it involves sex.”
“She’s right. Noah and Gabe go crazy when I order them around in bed.” Ronnie bites her lip like she’s imagining doing it right now.
“Now drop us off at Ronnie’s, I’ll tell Wolf to pick me up there, and you go tell your man what you want,” Em instructs me.
An hour later, I’m standing outside Shane’s office door. It’s closed, but I passed Paul on the way in, and he told me he was in his office. “You got this. You’re brave. Just walk in there and demand what you want.” I let out a breath, shake out my hands, then reach for the handle.
I turn the knob and push the door open, using what little courage I have. I step in and close the door quickly behind me. “Aubrey?” he says but I put my hand up to stop him.
“Shane, I’m hungry, I’m tired, I’m emotional, and I’m freaking horny. So I need you to stand up, drop your pants, and put your penis in my mouth right now,” I blurt out, getting redder by the second.
Shane’s eyes widen as he puts his fist to his mouth. He doesn’t say anything but seems to be holding back a laugh, which is not at all the reaction I was expecting. His eyes then dart to the side, and I look over in that direction.
Only to be greeted by an amused looking Randy.
“Oh my God!” I cover my face as humiliation lights my body on fire. My ears, nose, and neck burn from how much blood has rushed to them. “I am so, so sorry! I didn’t realize you weren’t alone.”
Randy begins to laugh, and I hear his chair push back against the flooring. “Well, I think I’m going to finish my lunch at my desk.” I peak through my fingers as he walks past me and pats my shoulder. “It’s nice to see you again, Aubrey.”
“You too, Randy,” I squeak out, refusing to lower my hands and make eye contact.
“You two have… fun, but keep it down. Wouldn’t want Paul finding out about this. I, on the other hand, wasn’t here, heard nothing, saw nothing.” After a few seconds, I hear the door open and close behind me.
Shane’s chuckling is what finally makes me remove my hands. “Why didn’t you say anything!? Why didn’t you stop me!?”
“Well, you didn’t exactly give me a chance to say anything, and I was not expecting you to say that.” He grins. “Now, do you still want me to get up?”
“No! I’m not in the mood anymore. God, I’m so embarrassed! I’ll never be able to see Randy again!”
Shane pushes away from his desk in his chair and pats his thigh. “Come here, Angel.”
I huff and drop in his lap. He wraps his arms around me, placing his hands on my belly. “The girls told me this was a good idea. I knew I shouldn’t have listened to them. Now I’m embarrassed and hungry.”
He chuckles again and rolls us closer to his desk where his lunch sits on top. A delicious, yummy-looking meatball sub. My stomach growls just looking at it. “Eat, Angel.”
“No, I can’t eat your food. You’ll be starving later.” I shake my head, refusing to touch it even though my mouth is begging me to.
“I already ate half, just take the rest. I’m fine. You and our daughter come first, sweetheart.” He kisses my temple.
“Shane, I appreciate that. But I also know how much you eat, and half a sub is not enough.” I fold my arms, not letting them get anywhere near that mouthwatering creation.
“Okay, how about this? I have one more meeting in fifteen minutes that shouldn’t take long. After that, we’ll go out to eat somewhere before heading home. How does that sound?” He smiles when I turn my head to look at him.
“You’re finished with your day?”
“Whatever I have left to do after my meeting, I can do at home,” he reassures me. “Now eat the rest of my sub because I can tell you want it. You’re practically drooling.” He laughs as he releases my stomach and picks up the sub from the table, holding it out in front of my mouth.
I lean in, taking a way too big bite and lie back against his chest, closing my eyes with a content sigh. “Mmm, so good. I love you, Shane,” I tell him, chewing away.
“I’m not sure if you’re only saying it because I’m feeding you, but I’ll take it.” He kisses my cheek next. “I love you too, Aubrey.”
SHANE
I massage the back of her scalp as my Angel lies on my sweaty chest. She’s been insatiable since we got home after stopping at a restaurant to eat.
The moment we walked through the door, she practically jumped me and hasn’t wanted to let go since.
We only stopped long enough to shower and have dinner in bed, then started up again.
“What was your five-year plan, Aubrey?” It’s something I’ve been thinking a lot about lately, wondering if me coming into her life, our child, has derailed that plan she had her mind set on.
“What do you mean?” she asks quietly after a moment.
“What is it you planned for yourself? Your dreams, goals. You’ve worked a crazy amount over the last year, yet I never see you spending any of that money, which means you must be putting it aside. I want to know for what?” I kiss the top of her head.
“I’d like to open my own bakery one day. I thought that if I kept working like I did, I should be able to buy a place by the time I turn thirty,” she says softly, her fingers drawing invisible circles on my chest.
“And is that still your dream?”
She lifts her head, searching my eyes with her mesmerizing ones. “What are you trying to ask me, Shane?” Sometimes I forget just how smart she is.
“I was just wondering if you thought being with me, having a baby together, would change those plans for you,” I admit, hoping she says no. I don’t want her to think that she can’t have the life she envisioned because she’s with me.
“No, I don’t think that, Shane. Yes, I’ll admit that when I found out I was pregnant, for a second, I did think that way.
But I see all my friends working with kids, following their dreams. Maybe it will derail it for a little while longer than expected, but I know I don’t have to give it up in order to have this life with you.
” Her hand comes up to cup my cheek tenderly as I nod, feeling reassured.
“Was that something you feared?” she asks next.
I nod again. “I don’t want you to give up your dreams for me, Angel. I want to give you the world.”
“You’ve already given me it, Shane.” She pulls my face closer to hers and presses her lips against mine. After a few more kisses, she rests back down against my side with her head on my chest. “Are you nervous about the next game?” Her soft voice reaches my ears.
I let out a sigh. Tomorrow we’re heading back out to North Carolina, for our last game in round one.
It’s been neck-to-neck from the start, with five out of six games ending in overtime.
We now have a tie of three-to-three wins, and whoever wins this next game moves on to round two, while the other heads home and puts up their skates until next season.
“Yeah, a bit,” I admit.
The boys have been working overtime to perfect all their plays, always making sure they’re at the top of their game. But if I’m being blatantly honest, the other team we’re up against is really freaking good this season.
“No matter the outcome, you’re still the best team with the very best coach in my eyes,” she says sweetly.
“Thank you, sweetheart.” I tighten my hold around her.
“There’s something I wanted to talk to you about,” she says, changing the subject.
“Okay, what is it?”
“I thought of a name.”
I move my head aside once her words register, needing to see her face. Instead, I push myself up to a sitting position as she does the same while facing me. “You did?”
She blushes slightly and bites her lip, nodding. “It’s okay if you don’t like it, though, it was just a thought.”
“What is it?” I take her hand in mine, feeling the need to hold her in some way.
“Stellina.” She blushes harder and looks down. “It means—”
“Little star,” I finish for her as she nods. I release her hand and cradle her face, bringing her in for a passionate, soul-shaking kiss. “I love it. Let’s do it.”
“You mean that?” She searches my eyes once more as she pulls back.
“Yes, it’s perfect.”
My eyes bore into hers as I use a finger to trace over her features, starting with her eyebrows. “I hope she has your eyes.”
Then down her tiny nose. “And your nose.”
I brush over her freckles next. “Your freckles.”
Finishing off by tracing the shape of her puffy lips. “I hope she has your lips.”
I look back into her emotional eyes. “I hope she’s as beautiful and perfect as you.”
