Chapter 7

Josh

Iwoke up to this woman in my arms, and I knew I wanted it forever. Okay, so we didn’t have a title, but honestly, did we need one? Everyone assumed we were dating anyway.

It just felt better knowing it was more confirmed when she woke up like this.

She moaned as she rolled over, her hair around me, her body pressed against mine, a smile on her lips. She was just gorgeous.

And wonderful.

And all mine.

“Good morning,” I told her, snuggling back down under the covers with her.

“Good morning. Such a damn good night of sleep.”

“Yeah, I think it was. You were snoring.”

Her eyes flew open wide and a hand popped over her mouth.

“Shut up, I was not.”

“You were. You aren’t loud, Kelly, and I’ve heard it before, like when we sleep on the couch. It’s cute. You’re just so comfortable with me and it shows. Trust me, it didn’t bother me. In fact, it helped me drift off. Not that you didn’t tire me out.”

She rolled her eyes, but still snuggled closer, her arm wrapping around my waist and her leg thrown over my hip.

“Can we stay in bed? Have a repeat? Or three?”

“As much as I’d love that,” I told her, running my hand along her thigh before smacking her ass, causing her to squeal, “I have plans. There are still some last-minute gifts we both need to get. So, we must brave the crowds to deal with that.”

“Oh, you are horrible to me. After all that fun last night, you want to kill me today. And I thought you were my best friend.”

“I am, which is why I’m going with you and not making you suffer alone. Now, let’s get this sexy body dressed because I can’t have you roaming the streets naked. Your body is for my eyes only now.”

She lifted a brow at me, but she didn’t object. Not that I thought she would, but her silence, that look, told me all that I needed to know; she was on board with whatever this was between us. And I was here for that.

Forty minutes later, we were dressed and heading out the door. She linked her arm through mine, breathing in the cold air.

“It’s nice today. Surprised that New York hasn’t gotten more snow.”

“Don’t you dare jinx us, Kelly,” I told her, making her laugh. “You’re right. It’s been a mild winter, which means that come the start of the year, we’re going to get slammed with tons of snow. It’s months like that I wished I lived some place tropical so I can escape it.”

“We can just always stay locked in our place, you know.”

“Hmm, tempting idea. However, are you going to sell nudes to keep the roof over our heads?”

She pondered the idea for a moment, and I reached over to tickle her, making her laugh. I would do whatever I could before I let this woman go that road. Not unless I could blur out certain parts and that would defeat the point of the picture.

“Did anyone ever tell you, Josh, that you tend to have an overbearing side? I don’t think I’ve seen it before.”

Did I have one? Possibly. Has anyone seen it before? Probably not. And that would be because I didn’t care for anyone like I cared about Kelly.

I can’t say that I’ve had this secret love for her hidden in deep parts, but it’s not impossible.

For ages, this woman was the only one I’ve ever trusted, ever got close to, but certainly not in that way.

Just had always been there and now that the lines were blurring, I had no wish to stop it, I was okay with that.

“Not anyone that matters. And if they did, do you think I’d listen? No.”

“Right,” she told me, rolling her eyes. She took my arm again, heading towards the first few shops.

We browsed around, gathering up the last of the gifts that we needed.

Or at least the last that I needed; she, on the other hand, still had a butt load of shopping to do and didn’t look like she was finishing anytime soon.

“I need a break,” she whined, making me laugh.

“Kelly, it’s been an hour. You make it sound like we’ve been doing this all morning.”

“But you know me and shopping. I’d rather do it online and not have to deal with all of this.”

“How about I make it worth your time, huh?”

She lifted a brow at me, a smile tugging on her lips. “What did you have in mind?”

I pointed to a store across the street, a sex shop that not too many people would have pegged. “I’ll buy you an early Christmas present.”

Her mouth dropped, but she didn’t deny it. In fact, she took my hand and dragged me across the street.

“I’ve never been in one,” she breathed. And I was glad I didn’t either.

“I’ve seen them, shopped online, but never been in one either. Guess we can both pop our ‘sex store shopping’ cherry.”

She rolled her eyes at me, but she couldn’t hide the laugh.

“I want you to look at whatever interests you. Anything you want to try, or think might be fun, put it in the basket.”

“Are you sure, Josh? I mean, this could be a whole new field for me, for us?”

I walked up behind her, setting my hand on her hip, and breathed her in.

“Yes, Kelly, I’m sure. I want you to be happy, satisfied, and try new things while you teach me a thing or two. That’s not a bad thing, you know.”

“Why do I get the feeling that the one teaching is more you than me.”

I watched as she browsed through the items, clocking the ones she lingered on more.

Like the dual vibrator, which was something I found interesting.

She also seemed to like the edible underwear, and I could admit, I wanted to try that too.

So, I put that in my cart, along with the vibrator, some silk ties, and a soft paddle.

I wasn’t sure if she’d go for that quite yet, but I had a feeling I could ease her into that.

“Oh, this looks fun.”

She held up a package of dice and after reading it, I tossed it in my cart as well. She eyed it, her mouth dropping open slightly before she looked up at me.

“I plan on having you show me just how much of a bad boy I’ve been, Kelly.”

Her cheeks tinged, her lips smirked, but it was her eyes that showed me she had no problem with it.

“I thought I was the bad girl here,” she teased.

“You are, no doubt. But even bad girls need to be punished. And I’m pretty sure they are good at giving out punishment.”

“Josh,” she said, grabbing something I didn’t see and slipping it into her own cart, “you’re one naughty man, and I think I like it. Let’s go, we’re done shopping for the day.”
