Chapter 4 #3

“I won’t sleep well. I haven’t since Lizzy was born.

” He told her that he was sorry. “I am as well. I keep getting up to check on her. Even though she has a nanny for the nighttime feedings, I still worry she’s going to wake up and need me.

The doctor said I’d get over that in time, and I hope so, but for now, I’m getting up several times a night. ”

When she held onto the door like she was going to close it, he told her good night once again and turned on his heel to leave. He didn’t want to; it was difficult for him to leave when all she had said to him was that she wanted him, too.

Driving home, he was very careful of how he was driving.

That would be all he needed right now was an accident after finding someone like Trinity.

He knew it was hopeful thinking that she was right for him, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that they’d only known one another for just a few hours and he wanted to make love with her.

Would it lead to anything more? Christ, he hoped so.

She was the perfect match for him, and he couldn’t wait to get to know her better in the future.

Once he got home, he was excited that his offer had been accepted on the house he’d looked at.

If it came to them being in love, he’d get the house of his dreams, and she’d already be living there.

Just as he was putting things away that he’d gotten out before leaving, he decided that he needed to make sure that he did all the things right with her.

He wasn’t going to fuck up their relationship just because his dick was telling him she was perfect for him.

Taking a deep breath, he went up to his room and took a shower.

After being in the pool all evening, he wanted to get the chlorine off him and try to slow down his libido.

The cold water was almost painful, but he did feel better after getting out. Going to bed as he usually did, naked, he knew too that he wasn’t going to get any sleep tonight either. There were just too many things going on in his mind right now. He pulled his phone to him and began scrolling.

When his phone went to sleep for the third time, he figured that he wasn’t reading anything and should just give up.

Rolling to his side, he began by counting sheep, and when that didn’t work, he thought of the canvas.

He’d decided right then that he was going to call it that so that he could have a name for it.

Getting up, pulling on some jogging shorts, he made his way to the building he’d been working in for the last few years. He needed something to help him rest.

The sun was bright in the sky when he stopped working.

It was nearly finished, and he loved it.

Putting away his brushes and paints, he continued to stare at it while he did his job.

The colors were just as he wanted, and he couldn’t believe how well things blended together on the canvas.

It was as if his mind had taken over his hands, and that’s how it became so perfect for what he had in mind.

Just a few more minor touches here and there and it would be ready to dry completely.

Setting his phone for an alarm to wake him up at two, he laid down on the cot in his place to take a nap.

He knew that he’d sleep better now that he’d exhausted his mind, and he was looking forward to having the painting finished.

He didn’t know if he’d sell it or not, but he knew that it was one of the better pieces that he’d done.

Closing his eyes, he was asleep before he was able to think about anything else.

Waking when his alarm went off, he lay there for several minutes trying to remember why he’d set the alarm.

Then he remembered Trinity and got up to shower.

He didn’t usually sleep right after painting something, but today he’d been too exhausted to care if his sheets got a little paint on them.

He was picking up his phone to call Trinity when his mom popped into his studio.

She stared at the painting for a long time before she finally spoke.

“It’s perfection, son. I don’t think you’ve ever painted a scene like this before.” He told her that it had gotten into his mind and he knew what he wanted it to look like. “I’m very proud of you. It’s very lovely, and I know that it’s going to sell.”

“I don’t even care if it does or not. I loved doing it.” She said that she could tell, and he laughed. “I’ll never get these colors right again. If anyone wanted a smaller canvas than this, I’d be hard-pressed to turn them down. I think that the colors are what makes it.”

“I agree. I love all the reds that you used.” She walked around the painting with him, pointing out the colors that she loved most. It was the greens that he loved.

They were so brilliantly colored that he had a hard time believing that he painted the canvas.

When she sat down with him, he told her what he was doing up at this hour.

“I heard about her from Axel. He came by for breakfast with your father and me. He said that she is wealthy. More so than even he is.” He said he thought so as well. “Is that going to affect how you see her?”

“I don’t think so. She has a little girl too.

She’s about two months old. I find her to be so delightful that I want to just bundle her up and take her home with me.

Her mom too.” She asked what he was doing tonight.

“I’m going to hopefully take her out. I was supposed to call her at two, but I got sidetracked with you. ”

“Why didn’t you say something?” She smacked him gently on the arm. “I’ll leave. I’m glad that I got to see the canvas. It’s spectacular.”

After his mom left, he picked up his cell again to call Trinity.

She answered on the first ring, and he was able to tell her that he’d gotten the canvas finished and that his mom had come over.

She was excited for him and invited him to dinner, just the three of them.

He asked about that, and she said that Lizzy would be around as chaperone for them.

“You might be right in having her around. I’ve taken a couple of cold showers since I left you last night and they’re as painful as they sound.” She laughed with him, and he sat down; his excitement was too much. “I’ll be over anytime you say.”

He was going to go over at four so they could hang out around the pool. The weather had turned hot again, and he thought that would be a perfect way to cool off. Getting his things ready to go over, he nearly forgot to uncover the canvas.

It would take a few months to dry, if not longer, and he wanted to make sure that it was ready by March to at least take with him for the show then.

That was nearly eight months away, and he thought that it might be dry enough to move by then.

Audon was excited about getting things ready for the show now, as before he didn’t have any clue what he was going to take.

He drove over to Trinity’s house and knocked on the door.

Bruno let him in just as he was leaving.

Apparently it was the staff’s night off, and it was really only going to be the three of them.

He had to breathe in his nose and out his mouth for several moments as what was going on really occurred to him.
