Chapter 16 #2
“What did you think, Hamish?” she asked. It was a lot different than the acoustic songs she’d sung at Breaghacraig.
“Beautiful, like ye,” he said.
She caught her mother exchanging glances with her dad. She knew what she was thinking without anyone having to say a word. They wanted her to get married and settle down. They wanted more grandchildren. She didn’t have the heart to tell them that wouldn’t be happening for some time.

Hamish approached the stage when Matt’s band was finished for the night. He was fascinated by the instruments.
“Did you enjoy the music, Hamish?” Matt asked.
“Verra much. ’Tis different from what I’m used to back home.”
“How so?”
“’Tis difficult to explain, but the instruments while similar are also much different.”
“I heard you live off the grid in Scotland. I guess you wouldn’t have much use for electric guitars and keyboards there.”
“Nae.”
“Elle told me you play an instrument, but for the life of me I can’t remember what she called it.”
“’Tis a lute. I’ve brought it with me.”
“We should jam sometime,” Matt suggested.
“Jam?”
“Play music together. The band is taking the day off tomorrow, but I’ll be around the house. We can go down to my studio and play. What do you think?”
“I’d like that verra much. Will Elle join us?”
“We can ask her.” He picked up his guitar and placed it in a case. “I’ve got to help the guys get this stuff out to the truck. If I don’t see you back home tonight, I’ll see you tomorrow sometime.” He waved as he walked off, leaving Hamish hoping to play one of those electric guitars.
Elle came up behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist. “Tonight,” she whispered.
He knew exactly what she meant and a slow smile spread across his lips. As his manhood expanded, his jeans became increasingly uncomfortable. “I’m nae sure I care for these pants.” He squirmed around in them trying to ease the discomfort.
“Well, let’s get you home so we can take them off.” She slid her hand down the outside of his pants, causing him to catch his breath.
He glanced around to be sure no one was watching them and much to his relief, everyone’s attention seemed to be elsewhere. He took hold of Elle’s hand and pulled her around to face him. His smoldering gaze met hers. The heat of the moment wasn’t lost on either of them.
“Let’s get out of here before I spontaneously combust,” Elle said.
She snuggled beneath Hamish’s arm as he held her close and walked towards the truck.
“Hurry up, you two,” Joe called. “Your mother’s exhausted and so am I. I’ve got to get up early tomorrow. Hamish I may need your help with a few things in the morning if you wouldn’t mind.”
“I dinnae mind, sir … Joe.” People of authority were always “sir” in Hamish’s world. It was unusual to him that everyone in this time seemed so informal in the way they addressed each other. It would be one more thing he’d have to get used to, but it was all worth it if it meant Elle would be his.

Elle peeked down the hallway. All was quiet.
Her mother and father were heavy sleepers so she wasn’t worried about waking them, but she certainly didn’t want to run into anyone as she made her way to Hamish.
She tiptoed down the hallway to his door, opening it to find it in total darkness.
She entered, closing the door behind her.
“Hamish? You didn’t fall asleep on me, did you?” she asked. Unable to see anything, she stumbled towards the bed.
He was waiting for her. He reached out and lifted her onto the bed, where she sat straddling him.
“Hi,” she said, leaning down to kiss him.
Soft, warm lips responded to hers, followed by a tongue that found an opening and took it.
Kissing Hamish was a sensual experience all by itself.
The fact that those kisses were transmitting sensations from her lips to her toes was impressive.
She’d kissed more than a few men over the years, but none like this.
None as decadently satisfying as the one’s she now shared with Hamish.
All thoughts left her mind as she gave herself up to him completely.
It was hard to tell where he ended and she began.
They’d only made love a few times, but they understood each other’s needs and wants easily, without words.
She untied her robe and tossed it to the floor.
Hamish reached up, calloused fingers brushing her nipples and sending fiery signals to her womanly center.
It felt so good she never wanted it to stop.
Their eyes met and never waivered. His expression held determination, pleasure, smoldering sensuality.
He flipped her onto her back and plunged into her, driving deeper and faster.
She thought she would lose her mind from the peaking carnal lust she felt everywhere that Hamish touched.
Grasping her hands, holding them on either side of her head, he continued satiating his manic need to have her.
Unable to hold out any longer, Elle convulsed beneath him as he exploded within her, calling her name as he did. They each clapped a hand over the other’s mouth, realizing they may very well have woken the house.
Elle began to giggle. Hamish removed his hand from her mouth and replaced it with his lips. “I hope we didnae wake the others.”
“Shh …” she said, listening for a few moments. Not a sound came from anywhere in the house. “I think we’re safe.”
He rolled off of her and she tucked herself under his arm and into his side. “I love ye, Elle.”
This was the first time he’d told her. She knew it, sensed it, but it was gratifying hearing the words. She wanted to say the same, but she wasn’t ready yet. They were the most important words she would ever say to him and so she would wait.
He turned his body to face her, placing one large hand on her belly. “I will care for ye and protect ye always. ’Tis me promise to ye.”
Sweeter words could not have been spoken. She felt happier and more content than at any other time in her life, except perhaps when she was a little girl. If this was what life held in store for her, she didn’t think she could ask for anything more.
