Chapter Thirteen #2
She shrugs. “Christmas at the club is a big deal. There’s a big feast, and everyone is supposed to be there. I can ask if you guys can come. All of you. You’ll see what the club is really like and meet everyone?”
“I don’t know. Not sure I’d fit in with a club of bikers? Especially if they know how I feel about how they treat you?”
“That’s just it, they don’t know, I haven’t told anyone. And anyway, you guys would just hang out with me and make my night more bearable. Ple-e-ease? Will you come?”
Gazing into her crystal-blue pleading eyes, how can I say no? It makes it difficult to deny what she wants when she looks at me that way.
“Okay. Ask if we can come and we’ll be there. All of us. I’m not going into that biker club on my own.”
She bounces on the spot and claps her hands together. “Yes! You won’t regret it. Thank you. I know this is a big ask and an even bigger thing for you, but I truly appreciate it.”
“Well, it’s Christmas. The time for giving and shit.”
She laughs, leans in, and kisses my lips softly, then turns with a spring in her step and runs off down the hall. The woman is so fucking sexy that my cock twitches from looking at her ass as it sways away from me.
But right now, I have to tell the guys we’ll be having a Christmas feast at a fucking biker club tomorrow night.
LUNAR
It’s hot, as it always is at Christmas in Australia, so today, I’ve opted for a more modest look, wearing shorts, and my boobs aren’t out on display like they normally would be.
I’m in high spirits, and because of that, this year, the clubhouse is getting extra love and attention in the Christmas decoration department.
Skye, one of the other club girls and probably my best friend, and I have been busy decorating every corner of the clubhouse. I’m just adding the finishing touches now with some presents under the massive tree.
I feel Steel’s presence behind me on the beanbag couch, but I’m trying to ignore the sensation of his lingering eyes on me.
With each passing day, my connection to Danger grows stronger, which is helping to wash away the feelings I harbored for Steel.
It’s becoming increasingly difficult to recall what drew me to Steel in the first place.
He never saw me as anything but a piece of ass.
In sharp contrast, in the brief period I’ve known Danger, he’s shown me a hell of a lot more respect than Steel ever managed in all the time I’ve known him.
That’s not his fault—it’s who he is and how he was raised.
Being a biker comes with its own set of perspectives and attitudes.
I can’t change him, and I wouldn’t want to.
And for the first time in a long time, I don’t crave to be with Steel.
Especially now, now that I know there’s something more out there, something meaningful, I am not going back.
Smiling at the thought and knowing Steel’s eyes are firmly on me when I bend over, I waggle my ass from side to side. “See something you like, arsehole?” I call out.
“Nope, nothin’ at all,” he replies.
I stand up and scoff. “Liar.” I throw a Christmas decoration at him, but it misses and bounces on the hard floor with a tinkle in front of his feet.
He chuckles as I walk over and bend down to pick up the red bauble, then plop down onto the bean bag sofa next to him. The whole thing shifts with my movement, causing him to bounce and slide slightly closer to me.
“So, Steel, what did you get me for Christmas?” I ask, and he shakes his head.
“Same thing I got you last year.”
Throwing my head back and laughing, I think back to this time last year. “An aching back and a UTI?”
“Hey, told you I needed a shower and that I’d been wrestling in the mud pit, but you were all like… ‘Oh, Steel, I’m so hot for you. Fuck me now and fuck me hard.’ ” He makes some lame attempt to sound like me, but fails miserably.
Rolling my eyes, I playfully slap his chest. “I don’t sound like that.”
“You kinda sound like that.” As he talks, he’s nodding in mock agreement with himself.
“Fuck off,” I retort, nudging his shoulder. “I miss this,” I admit, then rest my head on his shoulder. It’s not flirtatious in any way but rather a display of friendship. I’ve been avoiding him because of Willow and Danger and, well, because it’s plain awkward.
He nods. “Yeah, I miss your friendship too. But just ’cause I have a girl doesn’t mean we can’t still be friends, Lunar. You’re the one stoppin’ that.”
“I know. I’m over it now,” I tell him truthfully.
“You are?” he asks, surprise etched in his voice, and I’m actually a little annoyed by his tone.
“Yeah, I’ve been talking to Danger from Recoil when he’s been playing at the club.
His bandmates are really cool. They’re coming to the feast tonight.
I invited them, hope you don’t mind?” I decided to just go with the tell him rather than ask him approach, as that always seems to work best with Steel.
I know they don’t usually allow outsiders into the club, but Steel is the only way for Recoil to be given access, and fuck, I hope he says yes.
“No, that’s fine. They’re all welcome. I’d like to see Danger again to see how things are travelin’ now his band’s in Australia.”
Yes! My plan worked.
“Thanks, Steel, you’re the best. I’ll go tell him they can come.
” Gratefully, I lean in and kiss his cheek.
Then, with a spring in my step, I jump up and head toward my room to call Danger.
I wasn’t certain Steel would agree, but I’m glad we’re getting along well enough for him to grant me a little happiness.
I pull my door closed behind me and skip off to my bed, falling back and hitting the mattress while I pull my phone from my pocket. Bringing it in line with my face, I search for Danger’s contact information and press video call. The phone rings, and he picks up within three rings.
“Lunar…”
“Hey! So I have good news.”
“Am I getting you wrapped in a bow for Christmas?” he asks.
“Well, that can be arranged, but that’s not what I was gonna say.”
“Oh, okay. Well then, do continue, ma’am.”
I shake my head and let out a small laugh. “Right, well, you and the guys are free to come to the clubhouse tonight. If you still want to? The feast starts at like six, but you can come around five-ish if you want and meet everyone and kiss me and shit.”
“Kiss you and shit?” he questions, and I smirk.
“Yeah, if you wanna?”
“Oh… I wanna. I’m just wondering what the and shit entails exactly.”
“Just wait and see, it’s my Christmas surprise,” I tease, a mischievous twinkle in my eye.
“Shit, Lunar! You sure do know how to get a man’s imagination running wild,” he feigns disappointment.
“Don’t get too excited now, big guy.” I let out a laugh.
“Oh… nice way to ruin my wild, imaginative fun.”
“I like to be a spoilsport.”
“We’ll be there, five sharp.” He nods decisively.
“Great, can’t wait to see you. Oh, and wear something red. It’s Christmas, after all,” I tease, and he chuckles.
“Yes, ma’am, see you soon.”
“Later.” I end the call and smile wide as my door creaks open.
I look toward it, my smile faltering. Normally, when a club girl’s door opens, it means only one thing.
And if there’s one rule you don’t break, it’s turning down a brother when he wants sex.
My muscles clench, and my breathing quickens when Skye pops her head through the door.
I clench my eyes tight and breathe in a sigh of relief.
“Shit,” I murmur, and she walks in.
“Sorry, did I scare you?”
I flop back onto the bed and nod. “Yes, you did. I thought you might have been Penetrator or someone equally as horrendous looking for me for… well, you know. No one has tried yet, but I know it will come sooner or later now Steel has Willow.”
“Yeah, I’ve heard the guys talking about how they would love to get back in with you, but Steel is telling everyone to keep away.”
I gasp. “What? Why’s he doing that?”
She shrugs. “Says it’s something to do with Danger. He doesn’t want the club to fuck things up for you.”
“Well, fuck me… he does care.”
Skye tilts her head and rolls her eyes. “Lunar, of course, he cares. He wants to see you happy. Yes, that’s not with him, but if you can be happy with Danger, he’s not going to let anyone fuck that up for you.
He wants the best for you. Even though your relationship with him is a weird one, you were his girl for a long time… that still counts for something.”
“Well, that’s really nice of him. ’Cause the last thing I want is to be servicing the brothers, no offense.”
She smiles. “None taken. It’s not my ideal job either, but it’s part of being a club girl. It’s all part and parcel of this life.”
“We can leave, you know. There’s more out there than this club. We are smart and can better ourselves.”
She smiles and grabs my hand. “I think you need to do that. Your time here is coming to an end. I’ve gotta stick it out for a little while longer.
But now… now is your time to shine. You just have to find the right time to leave.
Find the right path to get some money behind you for Stuart and your mum, and then don’t you dare look back.
You get out of here with your rock star and make something of your life. ”
Smiling, excitement floods my chest. “I think I’m going to. I have to find the right job to set up Mum and Stuart first. Then I’m gone. But you make it sound like you can’t do the same, Skye. You can, you know? You’re strong, you’re smart, you’re beautiful… you can do anything.”
“I am, and I can, but not yet. It’s not my time. I’m not ready to leave. FIM is here, and he’s… interesting.”
I raise my eyebrow and smirk. “You and FIM? The new prospect?” I ask, and she shrugs.
“Yeah, he’s kinda cool. I mean, nothing dramatic is happening, but I like him. He’s different. Gentle, not like the others. You know?”
Raising my eyebrow, I know exactly what she means. Danger is nothing like these bikers. Sure, he’s similar in his way of being protective and dominant, but he isn’t like them in terms of personality. Not at all.
“Yeah, I know what you mean. I’m so glad we’re both finally finding decent guys.”
She giggles. “I know, right? It’s only taken… how long?” She laughs and flops back on the bed next to me. “I think you’re gonna be just fine, Lunar. You’re gonna be one of the lucky ones.”
I turn to look at her. “You will too. Trust me. We’re both gonna make it.”
***
When I glance at Techie and Steel, I watch them authorizing a message to the gate, so I know Danger must have arrived.
They exit the black door, and I jump on the spot a little, putting down my drink before I race outside.
I’m super excited to see Danger as I run out the heavy black door to watch the van pull in.
Then I slip past Techie and Steel toward the driver’s door and wait for Danger to get out.
He’s grinning when he opens the noisy door and steps down.
I can’t contain my excitement, so I jump straight into his arms, pressing my lips to his.
Danger kisses me back. His hand moves to my hair, holding me firmly in place, and time slips away.
I have no idea what’s happening around us as I melt into his arms.
I hear the Recoil boys talking to Techie and Steel, but I don’t care what they are saying. I just need to get my fill of Danger.
“Don’t worry, she’s like that with everyone.” Steel’s voice creeps in, and I know he’s talking about me, so I bring up my arm and flip him my middle finger while I continue to kiss Danger. Steel laughs when I finally slow the kiss, pulling my lips from Danger, and then look at Steel.
“Hey, man, how you doing?” Danger asks.
“Good… good. How are the gigs goin’?” Steel asks.
Danger pulls me to him possessively. “Not as good as a packed-out stadium. But hey, if we have to start from scratch and work our way up, we will and are happy to do it.”
“Yeah, well, if we didn’t have to take so much time off, we might’ve been able to stay on top—”
“Nate, shut it!” Matt grumbles toward his twin.
Ryan and Danger furrow their brows.
“Let’s go out the back, sit down, and have some beers before dinner, hey?” Steel asks, breaking the tension.
I link my arm with Danger, and we head off around the side of the compound, down toward the burning tree, and sit by the unlit bonfire. Techie sits next to Danger, who’s eyeing Nate suspiciously.
I had no idea Nate was carrying resentment for Danger, and by the looks of it, neither did he.
